Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California met for an hour on Tuesday to discuss the special committee established to investigate the 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, yet the two sides emerged no closer to a resolution.

Democrats have expressed concern that the committee would be highly politicized and partisan and have not yet decided whether to appoint minority members to the panel. Aides have said they feel as if they will be ramrodded when it comes to subpoena decisions and witness interviews.

Both sides, however, were tight-lipped coming out of the meeting, except to say that general concerns were discussed.

“The speaker and the minority leader met for about an hour to discuss the minority leader’s concerns. We hope they will select members to appoint. It’s time to get to work finding the truth for the American people,” Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said.

Pelosi met with members of Democratic leadership directly after the meeting, but they said equally little, exiting the closed-door meeting. Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md., said that he hopes a decision will be made quickly and they are waiting for the speaker to respond to their concerns.

Thry lie to us, and then cover up the lie with another lie, and now we are supposed to guarantee that the committee will be FAIR to them.

    • doug dash

With all of these lies they should impeach him.
The Republicans are either wrong or have no balls.

      • dmacid

No balls anymore. Or could they have been threatened? Blackmailed? Democraps really good at that.

        • doug dash

          Republicans No Balls for sure.
Like Cheney draft dodging lying thief.

          • Stephen Barlow

Bush in the National Guard was a draft dodge too. And his corrupt father was the culprit.

      • Stephen Barlow

They can NOT impeach WITHOUT a legitimate charge to try the President on. They KNOW this. They knew it before the last 7 hearings. Just like the 50 “Let’s make sure as many Americans STAY SICK AND HAVE NO HEALTHCARE AS POSSIBLE” votes In the House.

Funny how Boehner has managed to only pass 7 more bills into law than he forced to a vote for guaranteed failure to repeal a well functioning, successful and popular law.

Ask all those liars who never even tried to sign up, but actually found out that through the exchange, they not only GOT BETTER HEALTHCARE, they got t cheaper than Fox news paid them to lie on National TV about.

    • Stephen Barlow

NO, they are supposed to be governing the nation.

There is not one SIGLE CRIMINAL ACT that ANY GOPer can actually even accuse Mr. President of. NOT ONE. But another 15 Million on top of the other 7 $2-3 Million Dollar hearings on the same subject with the same empty threats…

I am sure your parents are ashamed of themselves for having raised such a dupe as their child.

      • Brenda Huddleston

You, Stephen Barlow are not worthy of any comments from me. DO NOT reply to any of my comments again. Just FYI, my parents are deceased if that makes you fell any better.

        • Stephen Barlow

I am sorry I was insensitive to information I did not have. Which kinda sounds like YOU. Except you intentionally IGNORE facts and data, infavor of cheering on the Seditionists who wanna STOP Government, tax you ONLY for their salaries and WAR and subsidizing tribute to fossil fuel and pharmaceutical companies.

FYI, If they are in heaven or hell, they would STILL be ASHAMED to know they are guilty of raising such an ignorantly village idiot child.

Unless you have a verifiable mental disorder that is unmedicated at the present time (because your state did NOT expand Medicaid perhaps???)

DO your hallucinations have faces and sit on a curved couch and only appear in the AM?

  • Jazzy

Obviously the same cronies doing the VA stats are doing the unemployment stats too, ie- if we kill them all and get rid of the data, it’ll look like the economy is really swinging.

GOP strategy, if we don’t vote on EUC we’ll look better than if we vote No.

Dems strategy on EUC -hmmm, my favorite was the renew EUC email Obama
sent out asking for campaign donations. (Like someone on EUC who hasn’t seen a check in 3-4 months has money.)

  • dmacid

Pelosi would love to stall these hearings hoping to bury them. She is scared for the truth will come out.
She should be fully investigated. A long list of investigations I’d love to see done. But don’t think there are enough investigators. Need lots of patriotic whistle blowers to help. But they are also afraid and don’t want to end up like Snowdon.

    • Stephen Barlow

It is much better for her and the Dems to let the GOP stall through the sham circus hearings and let the final gavel fall on Benghazi. What I think would be BEST is for them to be in the midst of a full on impeachment proceeding in October. That way, america will have live daily reports of Republicans abusing powere before their eyes on a 24/7 basis while they decide if they have had enough of Boehner’s duplicity and McConnell’s lack of integrity and the whole TeaParty “LET’S SHUTDOWN THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE WE HATE OBAMA” crew.

  • Mariano Angel Rosado

Nothing about unemployment …wtf is wrong with America where is my insurance for working 2years and 9months ….not much but its the factor I need assistance not jus foostamps I earn my money but its just not there …..people please vote these selfish as republicans out n go democrat like wen Bill Clinton was president n most democrats in the house shyt was better then ever now bush f,ed shyt up …..n trying to blame Obama 750

  • Brenda Huddleston

Obama is the President of the United States. Who do you think should be blamed for all of the problems we are facing? He is the person responsible for whatever happens in this country. He has more power than anyone else, so stop trying to put the blame where it does not belong. If you want a different outcome, you need a new President.

    • Stephen Barlow

How about the GOP guys who defeated the funding for enhanced security in Benghazi? McCain, Boehner, Cantor, the WHOLE GOP CAUCUS. They voted en masse as a single block of NONONONONONO Votes against supporting the Diplomats and other Americans at risk.

THERE is your GUILT, which explains the fingerpointing of the REDS.
Just as with the mortgage scams they underwrote by FAILING to oversee the banks. They blamed the homeowners, not the Wharton Business School buddies who wrote the scams, administered the scams and executed ELEVEN MILLION FAMILIES.

  • Stephen Barlow

Alan Grayson alone will make a mockery of them. He needs to subpoena Issa and ask him on the record if the entirity of his investigative chicanery has been a conspiracy with Boener and Cantor to sabotage this administration.

Ask him point blank LIVE on Fox News and let the whole GOP world know what they are gonna have to explain to voters in November. That NONE of the Benghazi or IRS or inside out underwear labels and missing mattress tags in the White house were anything more than political grist to blind the Citizens to the fact that the Republicans are an active crime scene and that crime is TREASON and FRAUD.

  • York Aptain Sidney Field

There is no empathy nor compassion in condemning the children of these united states further into the hock of hostile foreign creditors.

  • YONATAN C

WHAT ARE THE DEMOCRATS PREPARED TO DO ABOUT THE UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION BILL? DO THEY PLAN TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF THE WHOLE ISSUE? THERE ARE STILL MORE THAN 2.6 MILLION UNEMPLOYED FAMILES WITHOUT ANY MEANS TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES SINCE LAST DECEMBER. THEY NEED YOUR HELP PEOPLE. THE REPUBLICANS HAVE ALREADY TURNED THEIR BACKS AGAINST THEM, AND HAVE TRIED EVERY DELAYING TACTIC KNOWN TO MAN, SO THE BILL COULD NOT BE PASSED IN TIME. THESE MILLIONS OF FAMILIES, FOR THE PAST FIVE MONTHS HAVE SUFFERED EVICTIONS, HOME FORECLOSURES, BANKRUPTCY, AND HOMELESSNESS, BECAUSE OF YOUR LACK OF COMPASSION AND HUMAN DECENCY. THE UKRAINE HAS RECENTLY BEEN GIVEN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN FOREIGN AID, WHAT ABOUT THE POOR AND UNEMPLOYED IN THIS COUNTRY? THE PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER THIS ISSUE IN THE COMING ELECTIONS, AND IT WILL BE OUR TUEN TO VOTE, AND TO VOTE MANY OF YOU OUT OF OFFICE..
