GOP Lawmaker: Obama ‘Divides Us on Race’

Republican Rep. Mike Kelly unleashed a diatribe on President Barack Obama on Friday, at one point saying he “divides us on race.”

“This week I heard the president talk about phony scandals. There’s nothing phonier than the words that have come out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. about reuniting this country, bringing us together as a people,” the Pennsylvania Republican said at a news conference Friday. “No, he’s not a uniter; he’s a divider. He divides us on race, he divides us on income. He picks winners and losers.”

Speaking with CQ Roll Call following the event, Kelly did not elaborate on what he meant in calling Obama a divider on issues of race.

“Listen, I’ll tell you what: It’s self-evident,” Kelly said. “I don’t know if people who aren’t reading or not watching, maybe, don’t have the same opinion, but I think it’s pretty obvious where we’re going with some of this stuff.

“I think watching him pretty much leads to a conclusion,” he continued. “I don’t know if I can do it any better than the way he does it.”

Kelly, elected in the GOP tea party wave of 2010, was participating on Friday afternoon in a news conference convened by Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington. The occasion for the event was to celebrate the passage of several bills at the end of this week “aimed to make the federal government more accountable, rein in red tape and empower citizens across the country.”

But Kelly veered from the script to speak more generally about the Obama administration and the impact his policies have had on the American people.

“People tell me all the time, ‘the trouble with you people is, you just don’t understand.’ Let me tell you something: I understand. I get it. I’ve watched how much erosion we’ve had. I’ve watched how much our freedom and liberty is under attack. No, I understand it,” Kelly said.

He went on: “If I can stop this great country from unraveling, then I want to be obstructionist. I want to stand for people. If that puts a target on my back for re-election, then put the target there. In fact, put it on the front, too. If I’m gonna be held accountable for holding this government accountable, amen.”

Exactly one year and one day ago Friday, Kelly also used strong rhetoric to express his disappointment with the elimination of the copay requirement for birth control.

“I know in your mind you can think of the times America was attacked,” he said. “One is Dec. 7 — that is Pearl Harbor Day. Another was Sept. 11 — that was the day of the terrorist attack. I want you to remember August 1, 2012 — the attack on our religious freedom. That is a day that will live in infamy, along with those other dates.”

  • keepingemhonest

Rep. Mike Kelly represents a district that is 91.6% white and 4.1%
black. Not sure he’s their best spokesman on race issues…just sayin’

    • Jazzboy1

Gee, but white Republicans love him and his views.

  • stasis

Obama ‘Divides Us on Race’ is code for “Hey, the guy is black!”

    • hepette

is that your pic………looks just like you

    • Nate Whilk

“Code” is code for “I got nothin’, so I’ll just make something up.”

  • Guest

I’m a white conservative and I think race is one of the few issues where Obama has actually done a good job

    • Rick Caird

I seriously doubt you are a white conservative. You are more likely a concern troll and are simply lying to us.

Obama and Holder have used race whenever possible. It goes from the Black Panther poll intimidation to the challenges to voter id to the false claim they are going to look into Zimmerman for a civil rights violation. The latter is only a politically soothing statement to keep the race issue alive. Self defense is never a civil rights violation.

Whenever possible, Obama attempts a divide and conquer strategy. Race is an important part of his strategy.

      • anthony johnson

You are correct in that self defense is ot a civil right issue; however racial profiling is. The fact the the judge is stupid and did not wish to see the truth does not make it so.

      • hepette

if you dont think racism is alive and well on the part of white americans then you need a mental evalution

    • http://theweeksreview.blogspot.com/ Dale Weeks

Really? I’d love for you to expand on that because all I’m seeing is him rubbing white America’s nose in a racial environment that younger Americans have only seen in movies.

      • hepette

so pathetic……give specific examples ….,your generalizations dont mean a darn thing

      • Jazzboy1

I wish all white racists would sport “Impeach Obana” stickers on their foreheads. You are just turning independent voters into Democratic voters in Virginia – the next big contest after Corey Booker is overwhelmingly elected US Senator in October’s special election in NJ.

    • David

He’s doing a job for people that want Americans to hate each other based on race.

      • hepette

repuke baggers already do a great job of that

        • David

I’m not sure what you have against the so called “Tea Party”, if that’s what you’re referring to. They protest against out of control government spending and government power grabs, such as the health care law that the Democrats passed. I’m not sure how that’s divisive. You may disagree, but there’s nothing wrong with protesting policy. Obama divides people by race and he does it purposely. He fans the flames of racial hatred instead of acting like a leader for his own political benefit. There’s a big difference.

      • Jazzboy1

Why do you think the majority of the country see Republicans as haters?

        • David

I’m not sure how your comment is related to what I said, but I agree that some Repubs do some things that cause people to hate them.

    • Rules4Radicals

No human in America has done more to inflame and destroy race relations than the Obamination, in order to get re-elected.

Incidentally Obama is far more “white” than the Peruvian-Afro-Caucasian Zimmerman he tried to lynch.

      • stasis

In a word, “bunk”. Most white conservatives hate Obama because of the color of his skin. That he is a Democrat and a very, very intelligent man just pisses off right wingers all the more.

        • Rick Caird

Seriously, stasis, I have seen very little evidence of Obama being a “very, very intelligent man”. Giving a good speech (a talent which seems to be receding) is not evidence of intelligence. Many a corrupt, unsuccessful leader in history has given good speeches, but not good leadership.

Everything I see tells me Obama is way out of his depth. Even Jimmy Carter had a more successful foreign policy than Obama, who seems to pick the wrong side every time. For example, with Syria erupting, it would be mice to have a military presence in Iraq, but Obama squandered that one.

          • stasis

I don’t doubt your sincerity, but the reality is that people we like can do no wrong and people we don’t like can do no right. Some people even think Obama’s a Muslim Kenyan Communist terror baby. If Obama discovered anti-gravity those people would say it was plot to divide America. Perhaps Obama is out of his depth. I don’t believe that, but time will tell.

          • anthony johnson

I spent 144 days waiting on president Carter to made a decision when we were attacked in Iran. 144 days of nothing, so tell me about his foreign policy unless you were there with me.

          • hepette

take off those repuke bagger sunglasses and maybe you could see something

          • Jazzboy1

The fact that you can’t see Obama’s intelligence perhaps says more about your education than his.

          • robertannable

Bush started the Iraq war on what he knew were lies for their oil and Israel. Obama ran for election on getting us out of both Iraq and Afganistan which he has done. So an idiot like you wants us back in Iraq which is in the midst of a civil war we caused. Syria also is in the midst of a civil war so why would we want to get involved in a no win situation. It’s great that you want US soldiers to die for nothing like in Iraq and Afganistan, two wars we have lost. You are a sicko!

          • Rick Caird

Shhesh, the only lie is “Bush lied”. Every major intelligence agency in the world believed Saddam had WMD. In fact, the Russians warned the US on the eve of the invasion that Saddam would use poison gas. Saddam’s own officers believed he had poison gas.. In fact, Saddam had used poison gas against the Kurds, the March arabs, and the Iranians.

So, to say the Bush lied takes an amazing inability to grasp the obvious. Obama did not run on getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, if you go back and look, Obama claimed Afghanistan was the right war.

          • exNY123

it’s debatable if jimmy carter had a more successful foreign policy than obama. but what’s not debatable is that carter had a more successful foreign policy than that traitorous tw*t ronald reagan and his iran/nicaragua contra scandals.

All American military forces were mandated to withdraw from Iraqi territory by 31 December 2011 under the terms of a bilateral agreement signed in 2008 by President
            Bush.

are you claiming now that it’s obama’s fault that bush signed that agreement in 2008?

          • Sophie Meyer

Well Rick, you have to admit, it’s pretty hard to see much of anything through your seething rage…or is it your blinders that keep you from accepting reality?

        • A Smith

No, he’s not a Muslim Kenyan Communist. He’s just a lousy president and ineffective leader. His skin color means nothing.

And “very intelligent”? Our current and previous presidents are not exactly the best advertisements for an Ivy League education.

          • anthony johnson

Bull s@@@, from his first day in office all the REPCONS want to do was get him out of office. They did not even attempt, they even atmitted there one goal was to make him a one term president. As a naval officer, I’ve learned that you don’t work with your leader because you love his race (black), you work with him because he’s got the job or you are no good.

          • hepette

birthers have to be the dumbest people on earth and you are lying with a big L

          • Jazzboy1

            A. Smith: Liar, liar – pants on fire!

        • Sophie Meyer

I think it really chaps all these white keyboard cowboys whose President is a black man that has accomplished more than those losers could ever dream of accomplishing. It must be crushing.

A Smith – your post would be more convincing if you ended it with nanny nanny boo boo. I hope you feel better after your tantrum, I’ll feel better after I stop laughing at you.

    • A Smith

      I call “moby”.

  • El Puma

Aside from shoring up an already comfortable re election bid with a very conservative electorate, I’m not entirely sure what Mr. Kelly gains by saying things of this nature. It does not seem particularly politically prudent.

    • Yabba_Dabba

Yes – telling the truth in the age of Obama Lies is just not prudent …

  • DrSquishy

What specifically is Obama doing that is dividing us on race?

    • JillianWebb1955

Hey, Squishy, every time he opens his mouth he divides us on race. EVERY TIME HE OPENS HIS MOUTH. GOT THAT?

    • aircraftmech

How about letting his opinion be known on issues like the Harvard cop who arrested that dipshit Gates and saying the cop was wrong before knowing any of the facts; how about spewing that bullshit line “if I had a son, it’d be trayvon…” oh really, a thug? He’s the divider in chief and if you can’t see that then you’re brain dead, ergo, an Obama voter

      • gowian

Funny, Gates was in the right in that incident. The cop was being a belligerent, power-hungry, racist jackass. Funny, you righties say you want small government. Limited Government. You want the government out of our lives. But when the cops harass a man on the front doorstep his own home, you take the side of government. The Obamacare individual mandate is somehow tyranny, but hey, if the cops want to harass a homeowner on their own property, fine by you. Your “limited government” philosophy doesn’t mean squat if you don’t apply it to law enforcement.

        • aircraftmech

That cop WAS in the right! Where did you get that he was wrong? Why would a professor of all people start crying about racism from the start? Isn’t he supposed to be a rational, intellectual person? Your response is false, get over it.

          • gowian

Thanks for proving my point. Blind deference to law enforcement. Limited government my a**.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

Calling Trayvon Martin a thug is what divides us. Being racist garbage as you are is what divides us. Saying that anyone who voted for Obama is brain dead is what divides us.

        • aircraftmech

Oh really? What about the stolen property found in his back pack that was quietly returned to their respective owners later that night? What do you say to that? Those who voted for Nobama ARE brain dead because they still thought on the novelty that of a black president or felt some guilt because of the slavery issue. newsflash: whites were sold into slavery 200 years by the Barbary Pirates, before blacks were. But that’s a little something called fact, that liberals don’t like…

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

            Racist fail.

          • aircraftmech

Not a fail but you’ve more than proven to everyone you’re a Nobama sheep, through and through. Your prize is behind door number three-the culling field…
            Thanks for playing!

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

Ok, you’re a success at being a racist, genius.

          • aircraftmech

Hey genius, how am I being a racist? Somewhere in your liberal thought process-which there isn’t a process-tell the class what you mean.
Otherwise, go worship at the Marxist altar of Sotero

    • Yabba_Dabba

You are obviously far too stupid to pay attention.

      • stasis

Insults are easy Yabba. Hannity calls what you did an ad hominem attack. How about some impartial facts instead of childish insults?

        • Yabba_Dabba

OK – here’s an impartial fact – you know all about childish insults ->

Before I ever posted a thing at this site I was greeted by a string of nasty crap from you and your troll BFFs …

          STFU, a-hole.

          • stasis

An ad hominem attack is a personal insult – that’s all you’ve got to offer and you don’t see me doing that – often.

Now about “lying” as you are so very fond of accusing liberals of: How is the following statement, your words, possibly true? “Before I ever posted a thing at this site I was greeted by a string of nasty crap from you and your troll BFFs …” Before you posted a thing? That is impossible – I am guessing that you’re lying about that.

          • Yabba_Dabba

Ad hominem hardly applies in your case: You are an insufferable liar, an arrogant didact, and a hypocrite – these flaws impeach your boring, rote, and Lefty fulminations.

          • hepette

you cant impeach a citizen you dumb butt

          • Yabba_Dabba

I suspect you’re too dumb to comprehend how dumb that comment is… Stick to munching your cud.

          • stasis

You are one hateful little man Yabba. hepette didn’t deserve that. Hate colors your whole world and paints you as a regressive. I am beginning to feel pity for you – but not much.

          • stasis

Thanks hepette. In this case Yabba means “impeach” in the legal sense: “To challenge the credibility of: to impeach a witness”. He’s trying to impeach me – show me to be untrustworthy. I think it backfired on him a little, don’t you?

          • stasis

You’re obviously intelligent Yabba. Why try so hard to hid it? I admit to being an arrogant didact. It’s an occupational hazard – like you getting dishpan hands from your job. (If that rises to the level of an ad hominem I apologize. If it’s correct, well…). I nailed you in a egregious lie Yabba, in black and white, right here in this comment section and you are angry, still an arrogant and still lying. Now you point out a post where I lied. Okay? Just one. That would constitute an impeachment, unlike your hand-waving tirade.

          • hepette

            yep liar profundity

        • pp91303

          Here you go.

          1. In October 2010, Obama went on a Latino radio show in Los Angeles hosted by Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo and suggested that latinos should not sit out the election but instead they should punish their enemies. He was referring to Republicans who, along with the majority of the American people, oppose amnesty.

          http://newsbusters.org/blogs/scott-whitlock/2010/10/27/abc-alone-features-obama-extorting-latinos-punish-our-enemies-stepha

          2. Obama exploited his dead grandmother in his race speech in Philadelphia by saying she was a “typical white person” who was prejudiced against blacks she saw walking down the street. Obama then tried to walk it back by saying she didn’t have any racial animosity against blacks despite the fact he said she “racially profiled” black men who walked down the street. Funny, I don’t remember such nuance when Obama and Holder and the liberal media were pushing the falsehood that the Zimmerman Martin incident was racially motivated. Zimmerman, a latino with a black ancestor, who mentored numerous black kids and who helped a black man who was beaten by a white kid and whose police calls disprove that he profiled blacks, didn’t profile Martin but Obama injected race into it when he spoke several weeks ago about how he had experienced racism. I don’t believe him. He is pathological liar.

          http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/phillygossip/Obama_on_WIP_My_grandmothers_a_typical_white_person.html

          3. Last month, Obama sent Kathleen Sebelius to the NAACP convention where she compared opponents of Obamacare to segregationists who opposed the Voting Rights Act. She then exhorted the NAACP to fight for this travesty of a law like they fought lynchings because those everyone knows the opposition to Obamacare is just like supporting lynchings.

          http://www.examiner.com/article/kathleen-sebelius-obamacare-opponents-like-those-who-opposed-civil-rights

There are lots more but I have to get back to work. You’re an effing Idiot.

          • hepette

your thinking is exactly why you lost the last two elections………..duh………..get a clue why dont you?

          • pp91303

What kind of thinking are you talking about? Pointing out the facts that prove the destructive cynicism and lies of the people who are running this country. They know that their repugnant behavior appeals to people like you. You defend it. The pathetic thing is that they will destroy your life along with everyone else’s. But at least your fragile ego will feel better.

          • Yabba_Dabba

Take the time to furnish the slimy leftist trolls with actual data, and they vote you down and hurl insults. Vermin.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

You need to learn more about U.S. Economic History of the past 80 years, and what policies Pres. Obama actually stands for. If you did, you would understand Obama is Mainstream, not “leftist.”

          • Jazzboy1

Ho hum. Do you talk every night with Rushbo, Hannitybo, Beckbo and Honey BooBo- or are these your ideas?

          • pp91303

They aren’t ideas. They are facts.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

They are Your Interpretation of the facts. They are Not Reality. You need to learn more about U.S. Economic History of the past 80 years, and what policies Pres. Obama actually stands for. If you did, you would understand Obama is Mainstream, not “leftist.”

          • pp91303

No idiot. They are facts. You are a liar. There is no interpretation. Obama said what he said.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

Newsbusters is a conservative website. The philly.com and examiner articles don’t say what you claim they say. .. Pres. Obama is the Exact Opposite of who you claim he is. Obama stands for the same Mainstream Economic policies of Moral Capitalism that made this country Great and Prosperous Before George W. Bush — including the Affordable Care Act, which is the Republican Health Care Law that they supported from 1993-2009….The GOPigs demonstrated their media power by re-naming their own idea “ObamaCare” so they could team up with Wall Street’s Millions to Kill it for Poltical Gain. Pres. Obama has tried to bring back Mainstream Capitalism but Historically Ignorant Right-Wing Stooges like you Fight For Radical “Laissez-Faire” Law-of-the-Jungle Economic policies that we Already Tried in the 1800′s — and they Didn’t Work. You can find a time machine and go back to the 1800′s if you Want. Most Americans have No Idea of the Cliff the Radicalized Republicans are Dragging them towards.

          • pp91303

You’re such a tool you lecture about “economic history” yet you support the consolidation of power by the elite. Obama is a leftist who idolized Frank Marshall, a communist, when he was growing up upper middle class in Honolulu while going to an elite private school.

None of your diatribe has anything to do with my post. The facts are the facts. Democrats have to play the race card and divide Americans because their ideology is a disaster. People like you are the most pathetic. The 1% are richer now than they were 5 1/2 years ago. Over 40 million people are on food stamps, the work force participation rate is the lowest since the Depression, the middle east is going up in flames, GDP growth is pathetic. Nonetheless, the limousine liberals in Washington, on Wall Street, at hedge funds, in Hollywood and Silicon Valley are richer than ever. Al Gore is worth 9 figures, but the middle class is being destroyed.

You don’t understand how this is destroying your standard of living because your fragile ego wants so badly to stick it to the kids who were popular in high school unlike you. The proles who support the left’s agenda are going to be harmed by it just as much as the rest of us, but they still support it because it makes them feel good to tell other people to screw themselves.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

You don’t have a clue so you’re falling back on personal attacks, speculation and conspiracy theories. Consolidation of power by the elite happened Before Pres. Obama. He has No Power to change that. The elites block him at every turn.

The Democratic Ideology of “Moral Capitalism” that I’m talking about made the Majority of Average American Families Much More Wealthy during the 1940′s-1970′s (somewhat wealthier in the ’90s), kept unemployment around 4% on average, Balanced Budgets almost every year, and kept the national debt Low.

We took a wrong turn with Reaganomics, which is Still in effect — Salaries have been going Down ever since and the avg. unemployment rate’s gone Up. Reagan’s cutting taxes on the rich from 70% to 35% led to the Tripling of the National Debt. That debt will never stop rising unless taxes on the rich get back up a little closer to the 70% rate — like at least 45%…………now, since you hate the rich “elites” and their limousines so much, I bet you support raising their tax rates, right? Haha. Yeah, right.

          • pp91303

No, I support raising your taxes and those of the liberal lobbyists in Washington, the idiot Hollywood crowd and the clerisy in Silicon Valley. Let’s pull a France and crank them up to 75% for you clowns.

The reason government debt has gone up has nothing do with tax cuts. The percentage of GDP collected by the federal government from income taxes has fluctuated by about 5-10% over the last 60 years. Spending is the problem.

Median compensation wasn’t going down until the 2008 recession, caused by stupid liberal housing policies exacerbated by the double dealing of Democrats at Goldman Sachs and elsewhere on Wall Street. Compensation for the over 150 million Americans who got their health insurance through their employer, included their salary and their health benefits (see all the unions grousing about the impact of Obamacare on their health insurance) and due to the government screwing up that market, the cost of the health benefits provided by employers was going up. Median compensation was going up for Americans through 2008. I would say you did that dishonestly, but you aren’t smart enough to be dishonest about that.

We took a wrong turn with the Great Society and the baby boomers taking over the institutions in our society. They are overwhelmingly stupid, incompetent, liberal (redundant) and dishonest.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

What a child ! You want to raise the taxes of “liberal lobbyists” (almost none exist) and not Conservative lobbyists (which are almost all lobbyists)….You criticize Wall Street double-dealing and then you repeat the lies Wall Street tells you about the economy. You poor sheep. Median compensation was Not going up until 2008. etc. etc…..everything you think you know is wrong, cause you believe everything Wall Street tells you through the media you apparently trust blindly. ….Try convincing your neighbors that cutting the top tax rate from 70% to 35% didn’t result in less money for the government to spend. See how many think that sounds logical.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

By the way, Limousine Conservatives outnumber “limousine liberals” by at least 10-to-1. The term “limousine liberal” was invented because it’s always been Really Unusual to find a rich liberal.

You’ve named 8 people. I am sure you can name another 100 with a Google search. But beyond that, you have nothing. The GOP is a lily white party so you have a right to be proud of this heritage, Immanuelgoldstein.

          • immanuelgoldstein

Not only are the Democrats the true lily white party, they are the old folks party. Geezers, the lot of them. The Democrats have nobody coming up to replace all the broken down warhorses who populate Congress. The Democrats are running out of time. There are nobody coming up in the system to replace all those lifers who have spent thirty, and forty years in Congress, gaining seniority, and growing senile on the job.

          • Sophie Meyer

            I think you’re confused.

          • DeanOrfanoyannis

The exact opposite is the truth. I’ve spent a lot of time the last 6 years working on election campaigns for Democrats, and I have a hard time even finding old geezer Democrats. The geezers are just the union members, who are less than 10% of the population anyway. Pretty much every strong Democratic voter or aspiring Democratic politician I’ve met is under 40.

          • hepette

that describes repuke baggers to a t

      • Carl Goss

Like I say, basically an all-white party. Period.

        • DeanOrfanoyannis

Not completely an all-white party. I would call today’s GOPigs the White Supremacist Party. If you’re a Black or Hispanic Republican, you have to also believe in White Supremacy and knowing your place on the food chain is lower than whites. That’s the only way Black/Hispanics can move up in the Republican party. They have to be willing to hurt their own ethnic/racial peers.

      • Agent Michael Scarn

Congratulations on being able to name the tokens. Let me know when they actually represent less than 2% of the entire party.

      • DeanOrfanoyannis

You found 7 non-white Republican politicians. Good for you ! Let me know when you get to the thousands.

      • Sophie Meyer

So they have a few token reps, but look at their audiences and their supporters – they’re overwhelmingly white. There’s no way to claim the gop is a diverse party because it isn’t.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

immanuelgoldstein, well known to be an extreme racist, would have us think that 6 exceptions negate “basically”, but we’re not that stupid (that is, as stupid as he is).

        • immanuelgoldstein

Right. When you have no arguments, shout racism.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

I actually did offer an argument, you pathetic racist.

    • Yabba_Dabba

Lefty liar lies like a pre-programmed brain-dead zombie.

      • stasis

Very poetic. Is it a lie that the GOP is basically an all-white party? If you say it’s not, that makes you a liar. “Aug 30, 2012 – Nearly 87 percent of registered Republican voters are white..” http://www.businessweek.com/…/republicans-dream-of-a-not-so-white-party‎

How would describe yourself Yabba? As intellectually conservative perhaps? I think that would describe you quite well.

        • Rules4Radicals

13% of the US population is black.

          • hepette

            whats your point duh

      • hepette

righty liars cant tell their butt from a hole in the ground

        • Yabba_Dabba

A senile, foul-mouthed smelly old granny in diapers shouldn’t be talking about butts … Just sayin’.

          • Jazzboy1

Oh, didn’t I see you on the playground last week saying this to 8 year olds?

          • hepette

            you should know………just sayin lmao

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

“Yabba_Dabba” … typical of Republican intellect.

    • Rules4Radicals

More bull waste from the Party of the KKK, Jim Crow, slavery, Teachers’ Union inner city hell schools, black baby mass murdering Planned Parenthood, etc,

      • anthony johnson

Hillbilly white school are no better than intener city black school, do some research, murder in Co., murder in CT. , murder in…. shall I go on.

      • hepette

you are so out of touch its pathetic………no one wants to vote for obstructionists and do nothing house that takes unlimited vacations and doesnt do any of the work they should be doing. i guess you like it that it costed us 55 MILLION for them to repeal obama care 38 times!!!!!!!!!!! are you stuck on stupid or what?

      • DeanOrfanoyannis

The old KKK Democrats of the KKK switched their voter registration to Republican about 40-50 years ago.

        • sillyCONfactsare4libs

the spawn of every racist Democrat during the segregation era is now the base of the modern GOP

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

Calling it the “Democrat Party” is alone enough to completely discredit you and make your opinions worthless.

        • hepette

only to a nitwit such as yourself

  • JillianWebb1955

Mike Kelly hits the mark with his comments. Kelly, for one, is not afraid to stand up to Obama. Having known Mike since grade school days, this man is honest as the day is long and is willing to fight for what is right. Ask the people of the largely Democratic W. PA districts who elected him. He would make a great president.

    • anthony johnson

Mike Kelly is a fool. You may have known him since grade school but he hates black people, look at his voting record. Any bill that will assist or help people of color he voted against it. I for one do not want a red-neck hillbillity as my presendent, SORRY!

    • cc423

OK… then PLEASE explain to us why and how President Obama divides us by race. What has he said or done that leads you to that conclusion… except of course the fact that he happens to be black and idiot throwbacks like you hate him for that one single fact.

      • Agent Michael Scarn

Don’t you know some guy he’s known since the playground is the most honest politician ever? And that he said it’s obvious that President Obama divides us on race because he talks about race. No further explanation is necessary. Kelly said so, nanny nanny boo boo.

        • hepette

omg thats the most ridiculous explaination i ever heard!!!!!!!! you sound like a silly juvenile.

    • DeanOrfanoyannis

I attended a Mike Kelly so-called “conference” on the Affordable Care Act in February 2012. Every single speaker Kelly invited Opposed the law. After observing about a dozen protesters silently holding up signs in the conference audience In Support of the health care law, Kelly ended the event with an address that included the comment: “It’s unfortunate that some of us attending this event today choose to divide us on this issue.” (!) …..I’m still trying to figure out: Was Congressman Kelly too Blind to figure out he divided his constituents by refusing to invite anyone who Supports the Affordable Care Act ? …. Or was Mr. Kelly just playing politics — pretending to be sincere so he could rile up anti-Democrat resentment among the conservatives in his audience?

  • Rick Caird

I am just curious as to why Emma Dumain thinks she can get into the minds of the GOP. Emma is clearly peddling her own propaganda and has zero understanding of conservatism. That makes he a perfect liberal: she know nothing.

    • Yabba_Dabba

She knows how to snark and defame the Right, which makes her an excellent Lefty operative.

    • hepette

back at you for dems………you refuse to stop obstructing and have not passed one good bill in the house……..all you can do evidently is rename post offices

      • Agent Michael Scarn

You are either very dumb or very dishonest to argue that it’s the Dem minority preventing the House from functioning. You obviously can’t understand why the party whose leader put through a health care plan passed by both chambers and approved by SCOTUS won’t vote to repeal when the losing party wants to over and over and over. The Republicans are losing the war because they refuse to admit defeat in the battle. Sore losers with poor sportsmanship is disgraceful and an affront to democracy.

        • hepette

yeah go right to name calling when you dont have a leg to stand on……….thats not what i said at all………..can you read???????????????????????????????//

          • Agent Michael Scarn

Dumb and/or dishonest isn’t name calling, it’s a description of your personality. Can you comprehend? (hint, I’m questioning your intelligence and motivation without name calling) Since it took you 9 days to respond, I’ll go ahead and put you down for not very smart. Again, not calling names, just describing your intelligence.

          • hepette

you dont know my intelligence …that is a FACT. period. you need to describe your own intelligence not mine. frankly i dont look at all of my responses period. you criticize me for inconsequential issue of not responding in time? how dumb is that?

    • gowian

Or maybe you can’t admit to your faults. Have you ever considered that?

  • A Smith

Ironically, it Obama had a son, that son would be more ethnically like George Zimmerman–who has a black grandparent–than Trayvon Martin.

But that doesn’t make his poorly-informed base happy.

    • Jazzboy1

I wish I could have gotten your superior education because you know so darned much! Go Obama!

    • DeanOrfanoyannis

Your comment is completely irrelevant to this article. You’re so obsessed with skin color, you can’t see anything else.

    • hepette

we are not poorly informed …you are the dummies not us…..The study, published in Psychological Science, showed that people who score low on I.Q. tests in childhood are more likely to develop prejudiced beliefs and socially conservative politics in adulthood

  • hepette

mr kelley needs to read tim wise “speaking treason fluently” and get the FACTS about racism before he goes shooting his mouth off.

  • Jazzboy1

I live in Virginia. The racist comments I hear bandied about by fellow Caucasians are Republicans of FOX News persuasion. These yokels are diving our nation – not Obama.

  • GLEAZC

Funny how the people accusing this president of ‘dividing us on race’ are themselves guilty of doing the same thing they keep accusing this president of doing.

  • DeanOrfanoyannis

I attended a Mike Kelly so-called “conference” on the Affordable Care Act in February 2012. Every single speaker Kelly invited Opposed the law. Or was Mr. Kelly just playing politics — pretending to be sincere so he could rile up anti-Democrat resentment among the conservatives in his audience?

  • Sophie Meyer

Seriously? The President, who if you watch his appearances, attracts a diverse audience, whites and minorities of all races – whereas the republicans, pick one, any one, will have audiences of 99.99% white people. Who is dividing us again? Who is denying reality here?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1026609730 Jim Balter

What Kelly et. al. mean by “Obama divides us on race” is that, simply by being black, he “divides” us because it brings the racism of Kelly et. al. out.
