Diaz-Balart: Immigration Overhaul on Track Despite Hurdles

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart says momentum is growing in the House for action on immigration — despite some tough election-year rhetoric recently from fellow Republicans and what the Florida congressman considers ill-advised threats of unilateral action by President Barack Obama.

Diaz-Balart, a major player in the effort on Capitol Hill to produce a bipartisan overhaul of the nation’s immigration system, told CQ Roll Call Tuesday he has more supporters now than a month ago and still expects the Republican-controlled House to act before leaving town in August.

“Every day I’m getting more and more Republicans — conservatives — who are frankly approaching me saying, ‘How do we move forward?’ I feel very very confident that a majority — a strong majority — of Republicans want to finally tackle this system that everyone understands is broken — with some caveats,” he said in a phone interview. “Republicans are insisting that we take this step-by-step.”

The Miami congressman said recent attempts by Obama to facilitate the process in the House are not helpful.

The Pentagon announced last week it is putting on hold, at the request of the White House, a proposal that would have provided legal status to some illegal immigrants who enlist in the military.

Obama has vowed to take more sweeping unilateral action on immigration if Congress doesn’t act, but is delaying the Pentagon move to give congressional Republicans more time to produce a legislative solution.

Thanks, but no thanks, said Diaz-Balart.

“The president himself has said on multiple occasions that he does not have the legal authority,” Diaz-Balart said, to take some of the unilateral action called for by pro-immigration supporters.

“When the administration says, ‘We’re temporarily going to halt something we’ve already said would be illegal for us to do anyway,’ you’re adding fuel to the fire. How helpful is that?”

“It would just prove, one more time, that this is a president you cannot trust. Which is one of the big obstacles we have with immigration reform.”

“Sometimes, this administration just leaves me speechless,” he said.

Diaz-Balart also brushed aside comments from Republicans like Robert W. Goodlatte, R-Va., and some anti-immigration campaign material from House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va.

Goodlatte, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, told Brietbart.com last week he “is not aware” of any plan to bring an immigration bill to the floor before the August recess.

And Cantor, who faces a challenger from the right in next week’s Virginia primaries, has trumpeted his opposition to “amnesty” in recent mailing to supporters, The Associated Press reported last month.

But Diaz-Balart said he isn’t tracking negative comments, he’s tracking votes.

“I’m giving up responding to things I hear out there. All I’ve been doing is systematically working, a number of us have been working, to see if we can draft legislation … to fix what everybody recognizes is broken.”

Quit blaming President Bush STUPID!! Big Ears is the way that has the Pen and will bypass Congress to continue his lawlessness!!

  • Pamela

Our immigration laws are not broken, traitors like Diaz-Balart are.

We need a new American government to replace traitors like this guy, not new immigration laws.

    • anotherinterestedreader

Take a look at the step by step priority list the House GOP put out as a plan – the system is broken in part by lack of enforcement and in part by ignoring the magnets that draw illegals. Hopefully a GOP majority Senate can make repairs – at this point Reid is blocking anything but his plan for amnesty – http://www.speaker.gov/sites/speaker.house.gov/files/Immigration-Standards.pdf

      • Pamela

Most of the GOP House wants to legalize the ILLEGALS. That is AMNESTY.

Unless, we actually PUNISH, that means take away everything the ILLEGALS gained by breaking our laws, this crime will continue. We must aggressively STAND UP FOR THE SOVEREIGN RIGHTS of the victim, U.S. CITIZENS, and our American children.

DEPORTATION is the ONLY WAY. If the GOP continues this cycle of corruption, they will lose every election.

Our immigration laws ARE NOT BROKEN, our CORRUPT GOVERNMENT IS. They have refused to aggressively enforce our laws on their rich buddies hiring the ILLEGALS. That is why we have these ILLEGALS here.

The ILLEGALS must be forced out, permanently, and Traitors punished. Period. We want our country back.

        • Susanna Gordon

We in California are told that the Border Patrol will be releasing 500 illegals a day into the U.S. at the San Diego Border.

One thousand a day are entering Texas, and being shipped by plane and bus to other cities in the country, especially Arizona, which already has the longest border with Mexico.

Where is it written that we have to take unlimited invasion from a populace that will destroy our culture and our nation? Takers all, and we finance it. Legal Hispanics will suffer and be rightfully resentful.

Out of control for decades, it is out in the open now, and lawlessness and chaos prevail.

          More of Obama’s agenda?

Stupid Republicans. When they call me, I barely control the rage in my voice when I tell them “not one dime.” And still, they want to destroy the Tea Party.

        • mikemca

WE must also punish those in this country, including politicians and officials, who have helped these people break our laws. If that includes Obama, so be it.

        • Barb3000

Pamela, What we as US citizens are dealing with is a crime syndicate that is as large as the US Senate and the House of Representatives. Reid needs to be voted out of office, this man does not care what happens to his Nevada constituents as long as he has his power base. And there are many many more just like him. Once these people get themselves voted into office they are there for life. The more powerful they become the more corrupt they become.
I am 100% for term limits they seem to forget just who gave them their job in the first place, all you have to do is read the letters or emails you are sent back from your senator or representative. if you ask a specific question or a number of questions you would like some answers to all you get back is a lot of nonsense typed up by a office employee and signed by the politician never straight answers to anything.

It will be a long time before a republican fascist see the white house again just like it was when they created the great depression.

Sorry to say it, but we’ve had a a National Socialist government since at least the ’30s.

The original Republic died with the 15th amendment on February 3, 1870, replaced with a representative democracy.

As with all democracies (i.e. mobarchies) they fail when the voters learn they can vote themselves goodies that somebody else will have to supply. By the way isn’t that what slavery was all about – the slave works and the slave owner reaps the reward. Democracies have never survived very long – but we have lasted longer than all of the rest of them in history.

What comes next? Anarchy? Dictatorship? My guess, it looks like we’re headed for an Oligarchy of intellectual elites for awhile at least. Which won’t last very long because the intellectuals cannot seem to be able to read a sentence and not argue over what the definition of ‘IS’ might be. For example the purpose of state (societal) sanctioned marriage throughout at least the last 2500 years was as a contract between a man, a woman and society for the purpose of mutual assistance for the raising of the next generation within a legal framework. The reason being that a society that doesn’t produce new responsible members isn’t going survive. It had nothing to do with feelings or rights, for one black robed elite oligarch to order what has been voted in by a super majority of the citizenry (democracy) as being unconstitutional and another one of the black robed elite oligarchs to uphold said voter referendum is schizoid and will breed contempt of the entire system.

The people can change the future – but I wouldn’t hold my breath..

          • ObamaHillaryKilledBenghaziFour

With all the lesbo’s and fudge packers getting hitched, there will be no more raising of responsible members of society. At some point they will cease to procreate and eventually become extinct. Then, of course, they will burn in hell for eternity.

ACTUALLY it all started with Abraham Lincoln who was a great admirer of Karl Marx. Most Americans believe that the un-civil war was fought over slavery……IT WAS NOT it was fought over taxs (sounds familiar doesn’t it?) during the un-civil war Lincoln also forced the people of the north to pay income tax to pay for his attacks on the South!! Lincoln was the first president EVER to charge Americans with an income tax.

A country as powerful as the US can only be taken down from within. The biggest threat to this country and its way of life are stupid low information voters who have the attention span of a goldfish and freeloaders voting in tyrants, despots, and crony capitalists in return for crumbs from the government. Eric Cuntor and Linda Grahamnesty are both shills for illegal aliens but will campaign as hard core conservatives who will enforce immigration laws and secure the border, and the morons in their district and state will go out and vote for them. Same with the dipsticks in Johnny Boehnhead’s district. What we need are term limits so these people and their families are not immune to their own policies and regulations or lack of. It would be sweet justice if one of these politician’s kids are killed by an illegal alien.

      • biscuitsngravy

Term limits? None of the office holders will ever vote themselves out of office, unfortunately. We’re stuck with the system we have.

        • http://none.com Jack Everett

            -

According to International Law, open borders, FORCED integration, and assimilation is GENOCIDE.

Except they don’t call it GENOCIDE when it’s done to White children.

You can’t, because such a person doesn’t exist. I think your chosen picture is appalling, as well, but for every picture like that one, you can find a dozen of black people beating down a lone victim. I notice you couldn’t find any of those.

What concerns me most about term limits is the prospect of a six-year senator or a two-year representative in his or her final term having all those years to either do nothing for their constituents or implement self-serving, destructive policies, as they have no accountability to the voters whatsoever, and concerned only about padding their wallets and crafting their legacy. They’d be kind of like a second-term President— especially this one.
What we need are Americans who take their voting and stay-informed responsibilities seriously. We already have term limits; it’s called an election. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Founding Fathers foresaw the level of apathy and abject stupidity of today’s populace.

          • gotham1883

And they are accountable now. I don’t think so. Term limits are not a cure all but they do work.

          • hoser14

Senators should only serve one term and then go back to the law firm or the used-car dealership.

Does anyone thinks that Congress would have passed Obamacare is they couldn’t keep their platinum-plated Congressional healthcare plan?

It’s time to repeal the 17th Amendment (the direct voting for senators) and make Senators accountable to their home states and not their parties. There too many Senators who will sell out their states if political expediency dictates so. There are too many senators who are either craven or grifters (and mostly the later).

        • JIm G

The states can call a Constitutional Convention and bypass Congress.

          • rockribbedrushy

Article 5 clearly states in two places:

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution,

or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing.
This is a Convention to Propose Amendments!

There are groups of mega-business who fully believe that the world is best divided into economic regions like USA, Canada, Mexico and So. America vs. EU, Asia, Far East, etc. They see the world as economic units, not individuals. Anti-nationalism folks want borders to come down and provide regional labor forces for oligarchical employment and benefit.

    • LoveMercy

What is broken is law enforcement, targeted immigration and border security. “O” won’t enforce the laws, the illegal immigrants are not what the labor force needs, and we’re being invaded.

Cut military spending, go into massive debt, trade deserters for terrorists, open the borders to invaders, raise taxes, target patriots via the IRS, kill Vets, allow voting without ID, take over 1/6th of the economy and make it inefficient, ban federal lands from oil drilling, block a major pipeline, etc… Just wondering.

all the commentators below are really totally ignorant of many things. they are only after 1.1 illegals of which only about 3 million work in low paid jobs. but they are really so ignorant that due to big loopholes in US immigration system, corporations like satyam, infosys, tcs have brought in almost 5 million people on h1b, l1, b1 in liue of h1 visas, some really low skilled people with a1 level english communication ( I know you would be confused but a1 is the lowest level c2 is the highest level) skills. s. 744 sends back most of them and brings back almost 3 to 4 million jobs back to usa. s. 744 only gives temporary visas to undocumented or illegals howwever you may look at it. stop grabbing up all the bs tea party (actually NASSCOM the assoc of these companies spent almost a billion usd trying to stop s. 744 and has sponsored millions to the tea party groups to spread the lies). the problem with republicans and especially tea party groups is they can’t read a 300 page book even in one hour (800 page s. 744 printed in book print comes to 250 pages). they have never read s. 744. all they can do is bring legislations just one page which they can study in two weeks time. tea party means destruction of america.

  • americanracistbs

those born in USA never experience US immigration system and don’t have an iota of idea about how broken and biased and outdate US immigration system and visa system is. it rewards the liers and fraudsters and rejects the genunie ones. if you don’t change it now, by the time you have chance to change it again, enough terrorists would have arrived in USA to destroy USA for ever taking it back to the 1500s.

        DR HILL :)

One of the primary differences between those who achieve greatness in their lives and those who manage only to “get by” is that successful people learned early in life that they were responsible for their own actions.
        No
other person can make you successful or keep you from achieving your goals.

Taking the initiative means assuming a leadership role, a position that singles you out for praise — and for criticism.
The good leader is the one who shares the credit for success with others and assumes full responsibility for failures
        or temporary setbacks.

When you accept responsibility for your actions, you gain the respect of others and are well on the way to creating your own future.

THE UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS ARE PAYING MORE TAXES THAN YOU THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

            IMMIGRANTS AND TAXES:

Q: “Is it true that illegal immigrants don’t pay taxes and drain our economy?”

A: As Ben Franklin said, “Nothing is certain but death and taxes.” Like the rest of us, unauthorized immigrants pay taxes on their property and anything they buy. More than half of them have taxes taken out of their paychecks, but because our immigration system is dysfunctional, these taxes are paid under false Social Security numbers. We need a new regimen in which we know who is paying taxes and can ensure that no one is getting a free ride. The only way to do that is to pull unauthorized immigrants out of the shadows and get them on the right side of the law.

Three state-level studies have found that unauthorized immigrants pay more in taxes than they use in benefits. In Iowa, unauthorized immigrants pay an estimated $40 to $62 million in state taxes, while they and their employers contribute an additional $50 million to $77.8 million in federal, Social Security, and Medicare taxes from which they will never benefit. In Oregon, unauthorized immigrants—who are not eligible for any state benefits—pay between $134 million and $187 million in taxes each year. Finally, in Texas, the State Comptroller found that, without unauthorized residents, the gross state product in 2005 would have been $17.7 billion less.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Undocumented immigrants are an important component of the U.S. economy. They meet the labor demand in sectors in which they do not directly compete with U.S.-born workers. The great majority of migrant workers are taxpaying, hardworking, and law-abiding people who are integrating into U.S. society.

The economics of immigration, Stephen C. Goss, the chief actuary of the Social Security Administration and someone who enjoys bipartisan support for his straightforwardness, said that by 2007, the Social Security trust fund had received a net benefit of somewhere between $120 billion and $240 billion from unauthorized immigrants.

That represented an astounding 5.4 percent to 10.7 percent of the trust fund’s total assets of $2.24 trillion that year. The cumulative contribution is surely higher now. Unauthorized immigrants paid a net contribution of $12 billion in 2007 alone, Goss said.

Previous estimates circulating publicly and in Congress had placed the annual contributions at roughly half of Goss’s 2007 figure and listed the cumulative benefit on the order of $50 billion.

The Social Security trust fund faces a solvency crisis that would be even more pressing were it not for these payments.

Adding to the Social Security irony is that the restrictionists are mostly OLDER AND RETIRED WHITES from longtime American families. The very people, in other words, who benefit most from the Social Security payments by unauthorized immigrants.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Would Boost the Economy & Help ALL American Workers: As opposed to the mass deportation, enforcement-only approach, addressing and fixing the immigration system in a wholesale manner will be a boon to the U.S. economy and all U.S. workers. That is why both the AFL-CIO and Change to Win created The Labor Movement’s Joint Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Dr. Raúl Hinojosa-Ojeda conducted a 2010 report for the Center for American Progress and the Immigration Policy Center that found that “Unlike the current enforcement-only strategy, comprehensive reform would raise the ‘wage floor’ for the entire U.S. economy—to the benefit of both immigrant and native-born workers.” According to the study, granting legal status to undocumented immigrants and creating flexible legal limits on future immigration flows would generate enough consumer-spending to support 750,000-900,000 jobs. The report also found that the mass deportation approach would reduce GDP by 1.46 percent annually, amounting to a loss of $2.6 trillion over 10 years.

MYTH: Immigrants take jobs from Americans.

FACT: Immigrants create new jobs, and complement the skills of theU.S. native workforce.

MYTH: Immigrants drive down the wages of American workers.

FACT: Immigrants increase overall economic productivity and have no significant effect on overall wages for American workers.

MYTH: Immigrants will cause massive, unnecessary population growth

            in the United States.

FACT: As the baby boomer generation begins to retire and the U.S.fertility rate declines, it will be necessary to replace our aging workforce with immigrants to maintain economic growth.

FACT: Undocumented immigrants pay billions of dollars in taxes each year, often for services they will never receive.

MYTH: The Government should just enforce the law to solve our

            immigration problems.

FACT: Enforcement alone will not solve our immigration problems. The cost would be prohibitive, it would have a detrimental effect on

the U.S. economy, and it would simply push certain immigrantsfurther into the underground economy.

            MYTH: Immigrants are not assimilating.

FACT: Immigrants are assimilating at much the same rate as pastwaves of immigrants.

MYTH: Immigrants are more likely to commit crimes than

will stay in the country once their visas expire.

Dude, get a grip. Unlike with the Democrats and the ACA, The Republicans HAVE read the President’s amnesty bills and they all suck.

Reid on the other hand has tabled all Republican budget proposals, fixes for Obamacare, and immigration reform proposals that actually seek to fix the problems, not exasperate them. Where are the up or down votes for the heap of bills the Republicans have submitted? Huh? Yeah, I thought so.

But then, thinking and reality isn’t a strong point for you Democrats is it?

      • I am surviving Obama

I would like to see a poll of the BLACK population in our country regarding amnesty.
I guess they don’t count. Only reason Blacks are allowed to breathe is to vote for demoKKKrats.

        • PR_Ohio

When blacks are polled they are usually sadly ignorant of what the Democrats are doing, and most often agree with the Republican position (when they don’t know it’s the Republican position). In most cases blacks are hopelessly ignorant, owned, and controlled by the Democrats. A few have left the “Plantation”, but not nearly enough.

        CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE

Douglas W. Elmendorf, Director U.S. Congress Washington, DC 20515

March 25, 2014 Honorable Nancy Pelosi Minority Leader U.S. House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515 Dear Madam Leader: As you requested, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has reviewed H.R. 15, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, as introduced on October 2, 2013. H.R. 15 would revise laws governing immigration and the enforcement of those laws, allowing for a significant increase in the number of noncitizens who could lawfully enter the United States on both a permanent and temporary basis. Additionally, the bill would create a process for many individuals who are present in the country now on an unauthorized basis to gain legal status, subject to requirements specified in the bill. The bill also would directly appropriate funds for tightening border security and enforcing immigration laws, and would authorize additional appropriations for those purposes. CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) have not completed a full, comprehensive cost estimate for H.R. 15. However, the bill is quite similar to the version of S. 744 that was reported by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary in 2013 (and later amended and passed by the Senate). Based on that similarity, we expect that enacting H.R. 15 would have effects on the population and the federal budget that would be quite similar to those of the committee-reported version of S. 744. Specifically, we expect that enacting H.R. 15 would increase direct spending and revenues by about the same amounts as S. 744, for a net reduction in federal budget deficits of about $200 billion over the 2015-2024 period and significantly greater amounts in the decade following 2024.

        1

In addition to the cost estimate for S. 744, CBO prepared an analysis of the overall economic impact of that bill and of the incremental federal budgetary effects of those changes in the economy that were outside the

        1. For more information, see CBO’s cost estimate for S. 744 as reported by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary (June 18, 2013) at http://www.cbo.gov/publication/44225 and CBO’s cost estimate for S. 744 as passed by the Senate (July 3, 2013) at http://www.cbo.gov/publication/44397.

Honorable Nancy Pelosi Page 2 scope of the cost estimate for the bill. CBO has not prepared such an analysis for H.R. 15. However, based on the similarity of the legislation to the version of S. 744 that was reported by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, we expect that enacting H.R. 15 would have effects on output and income that would be quite similar to those of the committee-reported version of S. 744. Among other effects, the legislation would probably boost economic output, increase average wages for the entire labor force after about a decade (but decrease them before that), raise the amount of capital investment, and increase the productivity of labor and capital. On balance, we expect that the economic effects of H.R. 15 that would not be included in the cost estimate would have no significant net effect on federal budget deficits during the coming decade and would reduce deficits by a significant additional amount during the following decade.

        2

Comparison of the Provisions of H.R. 15 with Those of S. 744

In 2013, CBO transmitted two cost estimates for S. 744 (which was also entitled the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act)—for a committee-approved version and a Senate- passed version of the legislation. The budgetary effects of H.R. 15 would be quite similar to those of the committee-approved version of S. 744. The first estimate for S. 744 was transmitted on June 18, 2013, and was for the version of the bill that was reported by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary on May 28, 2013, including the amendments made in the star print of June 6, 2013. In that cost estimate, CBO estimated that, under the bill, the population of the United States would increase by 10.4 million people, on net, by 2023 (10 years after assumed enactment) and that roughly 8 million unauthorized residents would initially gain legal status (because those people would already be in the United States, that change in status would not increase the U.S. population). CBO and JCT estimated that enacting the legislation would generate changes in direct spending and revenues that would decrease federal budget deficits by $197 billion over the 2014–2023 period. The Senate amended S. 744 before passing it on June 27, 2013. CBO transmitted a letter summarizing its analysis of that version of S. 744 on July 3, 2013. For that Senate-passed version of the legislation, CBO estimated that the net population increase over the first 10 years after

        2. For more information, see Congressional Budget Office,

The Economic Impact of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act

        (June 2013), http://www.cbo.gov/publication/44346.

Honorable Nancy Pelosi Page 3 enactment would be 9.6 million people—800,000 fewer than estimated for the committee-approved version of S. 744. That reduction stemmed from an amendment that would directly appropriate an additional $38 billion for the security of the southern U.S. border (relative to such funding in the committee-approved version). As a result of that appropriation and the consequent budgetary effects of having fewer unauthorized residents in the country (as well as the effects of other amendments), CBO and JCT estimated that changes in direct spending and revenues under the Senate- passed version of S. 744 would decrease federal budget deficits by $158 billion over the 2014-2023 period. H.R. 15 does not differ from the committee-reported version of S. 744 in any significant way; it differs from the Senate-passed version H.R. 15 of S. 744 mostly because H.R. 15 does not include the additional $38 billion in funding for border security that was in that version of the Senate bill (although it includes some such funding).

Differences in Timeline and in CBO’s Baseline Projections

Although H.R. 15 and the committee-reported version of S. 744 are very similar, if CBO and JCT were to prepare a full, comprehensive cost estimate for H.R. 15 now, the estimated effects on population and the federal budget would differ modestly from the effects for S. 744 that were estimated last year—primarily because the assumed enactment date would be different and because CBO has updated its baseline projections. However, the differences arising from those factors and others would be small relative to the size and scope of the budgetary effects of the legislation. Thus, the budgetary effects of H.R. 15 would be quite similar to those of the committee-approved version of S. 744. Last year’s cost estimate for S. 744 incorporated an assumption that the legislation would be enacted by the beginning of fiscal year 2014 and focused on the 10-year period from 2014 through 2023. For legislation that might be considered during the remainder of the current Congress, we would assume enactment near the start of fiscal year 2015 and focus on the 10-year period from 2015 through 2024. That shift in the timeline would have only a small impact on the estimated effects of the legislation on federal budget deficits through changes in direct spending and revenues. In addition, the shift would reduce estimated discretionary spending under the bill’s specified authorizations, but only by about $1 billion. That reduction would occur because those authorizations generally applied to the 2014-2018 period, which was the five-year period following the assumed

Honorable Nancy Pelosi Page 4 enactment of S. 744, and authorizations for 2014 would not lead to spending if the bill was enacted near the start of fiscal year 2015. The updates to CBO’s baseline projections (which incorporate the assumption that current laws will generally be unchanged) reflect updated forecasts for inflation, average benefits to be provided through various federal programs, and other factors. Those updates would have only a small impact on the estimated effects of the legislation on direct spending and revenues because most of the revisions to the baseline projections were fairly small.

Budgetary Effects in the Second Decade Following Enactment

CBO expects that H.R. 15—like S. 744—would lead to a significant reduction in federal budget deficits during the second decade after enactment (as well as during the first decade after enactment). CBO estimated that the committee-reported version of S. 744 would generate changes in direct spending and revenues that would reduce deficits by about $700 billion over that second decade. In light of the considerations discussed above, CBO expects that the budgetary effects of H.R. 15 during that second decade would be quite similar. I hope you find this information useful. And you REALLY believe the Democrats when they lie and tell you that they tightening the border reducing the deficits?

Remember, the CBO can only use the criteria given. The same CBO first said that Obamacare was deficit neutral even though every member said the figures were a sham because they were prohibited from factoring in data they KNEW would show the ACA to be a deficit-ballooning monstrosity. Now those figures have been revised with more of the proper data and Obamacare is projected to add at least 2 Trillion to the deficit over 10 years, and most of know it will be MUCH more than THAT.

It’s all a shell game. Yes Bush gave us deficits, but under Obama and the Democrats we got an avalanche of new and unsustainable spending along with a never-ending recession. Nothing the Democrats do will achieve their “stated” goals, but will always achieve their true “intended” goals, and it’s never good for America.

          Those are the FACTS.

Frankly, If you’re an American who doesn’t have to worry about all those obstacles, and you were born with advantages that come with U.S. citizenship, and you still find yourself losing out to undocumented workers, YOU SHOULDN’T BE COMPLAINING You should be EMBARRASSED.

  • Dave Francis

DON’T LET THE LIES FOOL YOU?

For a start they are not undocumented immigrants, THEY ARE
ILLEGAL ALIENS. They broke federal law. Which although not a FELONY, it is a
civil infraction by crossing into a sovereign nation. I believe it’s a
conspiracy as on the surface is seen that each administration is enforcing the
laws, but in actual fact its still very porous, so businesses and agriculture
still get their discount labor. The costs for the illegal invasion is out the
window and now Obama and his elected officials has opened their big mouths
    about the possibility of Amnesty,
millions more are going to try and skirt the Border Patrol. However, that’s not
the worst of illegal immigration as 40 percent; arrive by aircraft masquerading
as tourists. Many of the females are pregnant and once past ICE, they head for
the nearest emergency room and another cost to taxpayers. America is a
passionate country, but by this never ending stream of mostly illiterate, poor
illegal aliens, taxpayers are their bread and butter. Although the E-verify
system of identification has its merits, it’s not perfect. I repeat it’s a
total conspiracy as why would not Congress pass a law that every American carry
a national digital ID card based on your Social Security Number. Not only would
it halt illegal aliens stealing American jobs, lowering wages with the
compliments of incorrigible employers and loutish cronies, but could be used to
curtail voter fraud and much more. The cost according to the Washington
would be around $2 Billion dollars. That’s peanuts; we give that away that much
as pocket change, especially under President Obama’s reign to his friends who
apply for grants to build supposed energy saving companies that end up going
    bankrupt.

    Unless we rid
ourselves of the Republican establishment and the Lib Democratic, we will be
heading for overpopulation, shortages of water (what we have now in the
Southwest) and a doctorial EPA, DOD, HS and other agencies sticking us with
reams of more Rules and Regulations. Any other president would be impeached but
Congress has refused to do so. It’s up to us to make it happen. Now more than
ever we have to keep intense pressure on to remove this anti-American fraud of
a president from office. We’ve been lied to repeatedly, had our Constitutional
rights violated at every turn, been subjected to the whims of a dictator and
watched our country and our liberties be torn to shreds. ONLY the people who
collect the abundance of freebies, love him? We the People are fed up with
Obama’s lies, corruption and destruction of America. He overspends, overreaches
his power and is a disgrace to our country. He allowed the bloodshed in Benghazi
and good conservatives to be targeted in the IRS scandal. The only people who
should be allowed into this nation are the highly skilled, not the criminals
who bring illnesses unknown to America
or even disguised terrorists. We need that double fencing along the border from
    CAL to Texas
before they pass another Amnesty, while millions of Americans are still looking
for a jobs; EVEN SO ALL HELL WILL BRAKE LOOSE.
My opinion and millions of other patriots is to dump the GOP and
Democrats and look for new leaders, not Career politicians. The break away TEA
PARTY is the way to go. They would abolish the IRS and institute a fair tax,
kill Obamacare, kill any amnesty and reduce this out of control government who
ignores our veterans and is now giving freebies to the millions of illegal
aliens already squatting here. I have no idea the cost annually of public
benefits to foreign nationals, but it must be hundreds of billions while our
old folks have to live on a pittance.

    • Ted Huss

The worst effect is that Amnesty will allow Mexico to remain a narco oligarchy who continues to foster poverty among it’s people. What is needed is for those who would come to the US, legally or otherwise, to go back to Mexico and start a revolution, storm the capitals, and treat the narco kings and politicians to a Marie Antoinette solution…but that really hasn’t benefitted a lot of Central and So. America…too bad…Mexico is a country that has most of what it takes to create a big middle class and prosperity for many…including its neighbors.

We also need to eliminate these construction contractors who purchase a house to house their workers and pay’s them in cash thereby not even paying taxs oh but the IRS gives these illegals a undocumented worker a tax ID number so that they can claim children that don’t even live with them in the US THEY GET EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT!! and HUGE amounts paid for by you and me the tax payers. ooooohhhhh that makes my blood boil!!

  • wigglwagon

Anyone who cannot show proof of legal residence should have to await their day in immigration court by returning to their own country where they are legal residents. Illegal workers definitely should not be allowed to continue their crimes by continuing to work the illegally obtained jobs. Thieves are not allowed to hang on to their loot while awaiting their day in court, illegal workers should be treated exactly the same. Do alleged drug dealers get to hold on to their cocaine or heroin until their day in court?

That is the reform we need.

  • DonHonda

The LA Times posted an article that shows that the Obama administration, the Illegal Alien lobby, and the major media outlets have been in collusion to depict the “high” deportation numbers. The exact opposite is true since the beginning of the current President’s policy. Interior deportation has and will be lower than 1973 rates. This is leading towards more people overstaying their visas and currently, more Illegal Alien minors crossing the border. Obama has just recently instructed border patrol to not turn back those Illegal Aliens on record as having entered illegally as priors, but to let them pass IF they don’t have a major criminal record. After the first Illegal Entry, it is a felony each time thereafter.

“If you are a run-of-the-mill immigrant here illegally, your odds of getting deported are close to zero.”

This goes to show you that the “immigrant rights activists” will only accept literally zero, not just close to zero. They aren’t hiding it–their motto is “Not one more!” They mean ever, not just until amnesty.

      • Ranger_Ric

But if you are an illegal alien animal in the country during or after the economic collapse, your chances of being executed along with your entire family is about 98%.

I hope these illegal animals realize their days are numbered.

        • Chaz Lesniewicz

It’s simple people… We are being invaded on purpose by latin America.. Whites are being attacked because they want what we mostly have created..

        • Irish1025

          OHHH Their day is coming!!

  • Al Rex

If Republicans in the House are fooled into passing another amnesty which would allow millions and millions more of anti-White, Anti-American masses into the United States they will do nothing but destroy their future and the future of their own descendants. The fact is that we’ve been flooded by jungle people who are taking over all of our Cities and Towns, displacing Whites and making a mockery of our civilization and threatening our survival,. Do Republicans really expect that non-Whites will ever flock to the Republican Party and vote Republicans? Fools!!! It will never happen. Do Republican believe that we will all get along among the different races? Fools again. It will never happen, Do Republican and Democrats believe that non-Whites will integrate within our European-based culture, morality and way of life and integrate with Whites? Fools again. It will never happen. This open immigration movement of third world people, who have nothing in common with us and who actually hate us, will only lead to dispossession, minority status, more misery for the already abandoned Whites in the land built by their ancestors. I hope that there will be no amnesty now or never and that Congress will totally stop non-White immigration.

    • http://none.com Jack Everett

Your racism shows your not fit to call your self an American you should be sent back to whatever jungle you escaped from.

Fooled again? You must mean like Reagan giving illegal trespassers free citizenship while lying about securing the borders.

This support for making illegal criminals citizens is a bipartisan effort racist paid for by fascist politicians and corporate pigs.

You sound like you took McConnell’s class on racism for dummies.

      • Al Rex

Reagan was in a demented status as he got old. What happened is that Reagan was manipulated by his then Vice-President in the name of George Bush, number one Bush, and Bush wanted open borders so millions of his Mexican relatives could freely enter the United States and this is why he fooled President Reagan into signing the amnesty and basically let the border open. Why would then Vice President George Bush want the flooding of America by Mexicans and other Spanish-speaking people and other people of the third world??? Because two of his sons: former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Neil Bush were married to two very much Indian-looking Mexican women that they met while studying in Mexico and had children with them!!! Then when George Bush, number one (Senior) became President himself he continued the open border policy and needless to say this continued when his son George Bush (Junior) became President and for eight years the Mexicans and all the people of the third world had a field day with the lack of immigration enforcement. I’m not saying that Republicans are the answer in solving our immigration problems but they are the only ones we can call upon and hope that most of them rally to our side which they’re doing even if there is dissent among them. Certainly, we cannot ask the Democrats to do something about illegal or too much open massive third immigration because they’re not going to listen.

        • Susanna Gordon

No, your information about Reagan and the Bracero program is incorrect, and he said publicly that he had made a mistake in believing the Democrats when they promised that if he signed the bill, they would secure the borders.

He was not in a demented state, and never pushed around by the Bushes, with whom he was not enamored.

Don’t mess with those of us who know political facts like the backs of our hands.

          • Al Rex

For demented state I meant that he was suffering from partial dementia as his son as stated in the past. No offense to President Reagan. I admired him and actually voted for him. However, he was manipulated to a large extent by his then Vice-President Bush.

        • Kayzeen

You are absolutely right. The Bush’s meant a lot to me. But thanks to the internet I’ve found out some disturbing things about this clan and their secret society connections to the New World Order of evil people. They’re insane. People don’t vote for either party of Dems and Repubs. You are being fooled there is no difference they just sound like it.

      • 1righton1

Jack the man is doing nothing but stating the obvious. When you liberals don’t agree you quickly use the race card.

        • Irish1025

When all else fails the liberals they use the “racist” card each and every time without fail!

      • Chaz Lesniewicz

You hate white people.. You want us killed and our property taken in a land we built… Go fruck yourself.

      • Susanna Gordon

Reagan did not lie about securing the borders. The Democrats lied to him and promised that if he signed the Bracero program bill, they would secure the borders and enforce existing laws. They lied, and that was one of the only two times Reagan trusted the Democrats and they lied. Just like you just lied about Reagan.

The other being to sign what the Dems said was a temporary tax bill, when they had no intention of it being temporary.

After that, Reagan said openly that he would never trust the Democrats to keep their word.

      • Kayzeen

Democrats promised Regan that if he signed the immigration bill that they would build a fence to block any more illegals from entering illegally. I remember it because I’m 58 and remember Democrats and Republicans disscusing it on the news and in print. So you either don’t know what your blabbering about or you’re a lair (troll).

    • Todd Clemmer

      They don’t care

Most people from Latin America are white. You know descendants of the Spanish that controlled most of the continent south of the Rio Grande for some 300 years. The designation of “minority” was demanded by LULAC in the late 70′s.

  • Ironweeds

The only thing that needs reformed is our enforcement. Obama has them turning everyone loose on the American people.

  • http://oldvirginiablog.blogspot.com/ Richard Williams

It is quite simple to “fix what is broken” – enforce current laws. This is all smoke and mirrors and phoniness. Who do they think they’re fooling? If they won’t enforce current laws, how is passing yet more legislation going to “fix” anything?

    • Susanna Gordon

Almost every poll shows that Americans don’t care about, or are opposed to Amnesty. This is insane.

And you have to live in California, Arizona, or Texas, to know how completely insane it all is.

Last week I stood behind two illegal families in the grocery store. The men discussing their tattoos at $350 a piece, the women pushing the carts. Food Stamps now are in the form of debit cards, and unlike the old days, when they had to last a month, now, when empty, they simply get the card replenished, any time. Looks like a credit card, so they won’t look as if they are using our money to buy groceries. (That would be ruinous to their self-esteem.)

There were two piles on the counter: one with food they could purchase with the taxpayer’s money, the other with alcohol, cigarettes and other non-permissible items.

      Here in California they get:

      Free food
      Subsidized and free housing
Complete free health care (for decades)
Free education, including college – thankfully not many go
Free everything except their wheels and many of them steal those
Free translators in high schools classes even tho they have been in immersion classes since they first arrived -a Spanish speaking nation is one of their goals
      Free legal aid
      Free incarceration
They now get drivers’ licenses (Can’t speak English)
Immersion classes in elementary school, meant to teach English, but instead the American children learn to speak Spanish, and the Mexicans DON’T learn to speak English
Earned income credit – so no taxes even if legally paid
      Huge birth rate
Huge crime rate -in the violent crimes in my town, the perp, when described by the victim, is a Hispanic male
Highest domestic violence rate of any ethnic group
For those of us who try to save animals, the Central Valley, where most live, is an animal torture nightmare.
Every day they go by my house on t he way to the neighborhood school to get free breakfast and free lunch for the entire family – winter and summer.

All this largess makes it possible for the illegals to send 30 BILLION a year back to Mexico for their relatives. A huge drain on our economy.

They are parasites, and we allow it. They will kill the host. (That’s our country.)

  • Ranger_Ric

After the collapse we are going to hunt the illegal sub-human animals down and rid the country of them. At the same time, these traitors who want to grant them amnesty will be dragged out of their bunkers and safs houses to be publicly hanged in the street along with the wall street bankers who own them!

  • Chris Duke

This supposed GOP representative is a relic. He will be defeated because his personal desires don’t match up with Americans and the middle class specifically, who have earned legally their place in our great country. Invaders sucking up our sustenance, our bounty, our jobs, our healthcare, our savings, and our way of life need to go thru the existing laws of our land. Not slide in as criminals and enjoy the benefits we have worked so hard to build up.

  • Feynman

To enforce a One World Government, you need to homogenize the world. You want to know the real reason both sides are pushing this along with their corporate cronies? That’s it.

  • ed2knKC

Whenever Amnesty does happen that will be the final nail in our coffin as the America that we knew!.. 15 Million ILLEGALS will be Citizens and compete with the jobs that we already don’t have, they’ll take social services from the REAL Citizens. The Politicians will trip over themselves giving them everything they want! The Biggest problem we’ll have is they will be a voting block and they will vote into power whoever gives them what they want. They’ll want their Cousins and the rest of their family over here.. We will be Governed by a Minority.. We will lose our Culture and our Heritage! This will be the SELL OUT OF AMERICA! It will be a SAD DAY!

    • Susanna Gordon

Well, the Common Core, the dumbing down of our middle and upper students, will be the final straw.

But who can keep track these days with Obama at the helm. Something new every week, each bit of information designed to take attention off last weeks horror, a part of Obama’s deliberate plan to wreck the United States.

When do people look at all of this collectively, as an agenda?

      • http://none.com Jack Everett

colle? ctively? Looks like you have a virus or your public education is a failure. Don’t worry the Stepford factory has a virus killer you can use.

    • http://none.com Jack Everett

Anyone with two functioning braincells can see this is a bipartisan sellout and voters should stop the politically correct hate for each other and start being Americans again. This amnesty is funded by corporate blood money.

  • Paul Fries

So the Republicans are once again going to toss a very good chance at gaining seats in both chambers of Congress out the window and give the democrats another victory by pushing this so called immigration reform. There is no better way for them to keep large protions of their base at home rather than at the polls in November after all. It really seems like these alleged republicans work for the DNC rather for the citizens of the United States.

  • Clay Cullum

    That would be about right.

Things as they are right now would indicate a Republican spanking in November. The Establishment–of both parties–can’t have that. Time for Republicans to hold a press conference and shoot themselves in the foot.

    • Rich

As a Republican who hates liberal democrats and Republicans in name only, if this passes, I will not vote in November. My family will not vote in November. My friends will not vote in November. All the people I know will not vote in November. We, the silent majority, are tired of the establishment Republican party not listening to us. Thats why 4 million Republicans did not vote in the last election, because we had the wrong candidate. The ILLEGAL aliens that are in this country are here ILLEGALLY, which means for those who are paying attention, they broke the law. What we should be discussing is the following: DETAIN, DENY, DEPORT and DONE. Not Obama’s Delay, Deflect and DUMP. Once this country cleans up ILLEGAL Immigration first, then Amnesty might be discussed.

      • dave harris

If what passes Rich? Just because they take it up does not mean they have to simply agree with amnesty. If they do nothing then you can bet on the fact that we will have millions more to deal with. Obama has stopped enforcing the border in most cases. Id rather see them takeit up and at least try to do something sensible.

        • Corpseman57

The Republicans should stand up en masse and stop obama’s authoritarian regime. Instead, the old guard GOP is fighting the Tea Party.

          I DESPISE THE REPUBLICAN EUNUCHS.

        • Corpseman57

          I DESPISE THE REPUBLICAN EUNUCHS.

        • Rich

Because our so called Republican “leadership” care more about being liked by the opposition party, then sticking to Republican principles and doing their job. Earth to all those who are in denial about the way the legal US citizens think about the Republican party. They Republican establishment lost their way with “compassionate conservatism” and abandoned the Reagan revolution that made this country great. Even Reagan admitted he was wrong with his immigration policy. We, the silent majority, want are leaders to grow a nut sack and start doing their jobs. Defeat the Democrats, Repeal Obama care, Defeat Amnesty and start prosecuting the criminals in the WH, for the laws they have broken. In Washington DC, sensible is used as a punch line at the cocktail parties. Wake up and stop drinking the Obama Kool-Aid.

          • dave harris

I think that Reagan’s greatest regret with regards to the amnesty is that it did nothing to ensure border security going forward. It was a disaster.

          • Rich

You and I are on the same page on this as far as Reagan is concerned. He was the first president I voted for back in 1980; I refer to him as Renaldos Magnus Emeritus. The greatest President in my lifetime. Look, the current leadership is a bunch of gutless wonders and there needs to be a change. If they cave on immigration, I am done with them. The 2012 election was a bunch of crap and Obama should be impeached. I could careless is he is black, white, yellow or green… he has no business being President and he proving that now. We are the laughing stock of the world and out community organizer is proving the point. Immigration is a sore spot with me, because I have lived in California and Arizona and I know what the effects are. So, no to Amnesty. Are we in agreement Dave?

  • Bossman

Not broken just decided not to follow the law…. we live in Tyranny and if the GOP goes along with this people should leave it to die on the ash heap of history….

  • jimmyjones05091968@yahoo.com

We need to over-haul, or “repeal” the we need to rewrite the 14th Amendment, in other words, repeal it. If ONE of your parents aren’t a US citizen, then you AREN’T, period. Two illegals don’t make a legal…..

  • zman3564

If the GOP run house of representatives passes
any type of amnesty before the midterm elections they will be secure that the
Democrats will maintain control of the senate and the GOP will not make many if
any gains in the house. This will cause many conservative voters to just
stay home and not even vote. Seriously what difference does it make if
they vote or not if their representatives are going to ignore them on important
issues like immigration. I cannot believe that the GOP would be this
stupid to think that they would gain any votes from the Hispanic community if
they pass any type of amnesty. It is not going to matter what they do the
majority of the Hispanic community will continue vote Democrat….so
why would the GOP piss off a big portion of their base in an attempt to gain
very little ground in another? Because
they are a bunch of clueless bastards still listening to idiots like Karl Rove…..

    • ggm281

If my Congressman (or Senator) both GOP vote for legal status for most here illegally, I’ll vote for the Democrat opposing them because primaries are over. And I just sent e-mails to tell them that. I don’t care which party controls the future. I care that low education US citizens are unemployed at historical highs and their government has an obligation to prioritize US citizens’ needs over illegal foreign nationals’ wants!!

  • NHConservative777

The Republican Party is worthless and impotent. It only knows how to do one thing: Surrender via capitulation. In granting amnesty, they will not only lose their base (which they probably have already) but they will guarantee their own demise. But of course, these incompetent bozos are just too stupid to know it.

  • Joeff

This congressman is a dunce. DEFEND OUR SOVEREIGNTY! Defeat elected officials as this and DEFEAT every HOUSE/SENATE member supporting. Each state much do its part. DO NOT ALLOW AMNESTY TO PASS!!! WW II vets did not fight and die for this! Let’s go America. Take it to the streets if we have to.

  • dave harris

There is going to be an amnesty. I just wish republicans would make efforts so that we don’t repeat the Reagan amnesty. For instance, they say this is the last one, but the senate proposal doesn’t do away with the provisions allowing green cards to illegals who have been here for 10 years. If we are really going to drop the hammer going forward then why hasn’t this provision been removed. Similarly, the unaccompanied minor provisions. They need to be scrapped.

    • doncalls

If this amnesty goes through there will be many to follow down the road, the Latinos will be too huge of a voting block and too many of these new immigrants will want to bring their familys.

      • dave harris

You may be right, and it may just be a lost cause, but Id like to see them try. A lot of Latino-Americans are for border security and against an amnesty. More would be for it going forward. If we kept future illegals out of the country instead of allowing their numbers to swell to 10s of millions I thinkit would be much easier.

    • Corpseman57

Dave, Dave, Dave. We don’t need to pass any new laws. obama will ignore them anyway.

      • dave harris

So why bother worrying. We can revisit the issue when we have 100 million illegals in the US. Obama is failing to enforce for sure, but prior administrations win no prizes either.

        • Corpseman57

I don’t care about prior administrations. Quit bringing them up. It’s obama who is the current traitor. Both major parties, SCOTUS, the media and the schools have destroyed our freedoms.

  • Victory1776

If Republicans push for Amnesty before the election, they can kiss their voters goodbye! The Republicans are really good at doing the exact opposite of what they should do if they want to win elections!! If they wait until after the elections, you can bet your @ss that the voters will remember when their terms are up!!! Morons!!

    • The Bobster

No matter when they call for amnesty, they’ll lose their base and never get it back.

  • pbtruth

OK The Republicans have decided to throw away another chance at taking control of the Senate and the Presidency. They are running a guy in Ohio that I would not vote for if he were the only one running. No reason to vote the Democrats (and their auxiliary party the Republicans) and the media run the country.

  • trampletheweakhurdlethedead

Well, I guess the GOP just doesn’t care, so neither do I! I will not under any circumstance vote for these traitors & lawbreakers! “F U Boehner!

  • jimboelrod

So, they’re going to “overhaul” it again. It’ll be broken again, just like the last major overhaul, before the ink even dries on the paper. My God, how fvcking dumb is this country? We are waaaaaay past time for another revolution.

  • doncalls

Well it seems the logical step is a revolution.

  • dave harris

There is a big difference between taking up immigration reform and agreeing to a blanket amnesty. I hope the Republicans do take up reform, I just want them to do it responsibly and to find a way of ensuring border security going forward.

    • doncalls

dave, there is chaos at the border right now,we are being invaded in mass.

We have existing laws,if anything the military should be on the border.

      • dave harris

The existing laws are inadequate. Many at the border are unaccompanied minors. Our current law calls for us to take them in and give them green cards. This- unlike so many other things- is not some initiate of Obama’s. It is the law.

        • doncalls

Excuse me? the laws are the most liberal in the world and we do not have to give these kids nothing.

          • dave harris

Under the law we do. There are provisions for unaccompanied minors which were approved by congress during the Bush administration. I don’t think that anyone thought that the program would be so abused, but it is. When enacted we had maybe a few dozen each year. Now we have 60,000 and the number will grow. Doesn’t matter who the president is or how tough he is on immigration. It is the law.

          • Corpseman57

Right. We’re to believe that the current stooges in D.C. will tighten the law.

          • dave harris

Left to their own devices- absolutely not. But they were playing around with enforcement triggers to ensure enforcement before any limited amnesty. It is very difficult because how do you force the executive to enforce the law, but if we don’t at least try then we are left with the current situation which is a disaster.

          • Corpseman57

The RINOs are complicit in this travesty.

            VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

        • The Bobster

No, it doesn’t, you lying troll disruptor!

          • dave harris

TVPRA of 2008, 122 stat 5044. I don’t know how to convince you tht the unaccompanied minors are being admitted under the law, not under an executive order. Read it.

    • Corpseman57

      Reform=amnesty. Period.

      • dave harris

Ok.. So I guess you are happy with the status quo.

        • Corpseman57

obama, Holder and the rest of our politicians are aiding and abetting an invasion by foreign nationals. This is treason.

          • dave harris

The problem is that I don’t think it is treason. It is a carefully designed failure to enforce covered by “enforcement priorities” and the like. Id like to see republicans try to come up with something that the executive cant wiggle out of.

          • Corpseman57

The GOP is enabling obama’s authoritarian regime to exist. I’m sick of the them (the GOP.)

        • The Bobster

It’s far better than amnesty. Amnesty is permanent. Eventually we’ll regain out sanity and commence with the deportations.

          • dave harris

Its not better than reasserting control over our borders.

    • HBninjaX

Responsibly? Hahahahhaha. Like healthcare reform, right? I also liked it when you said “ensuring border security”, that was a good one.

      • dave harris

OK. Guess you are right and we will never control our borders. There is nothing that can be done. So why complain. Its no ones fault because it simply cannot be fixed.

        • Corpseman57

I blame the Republicans. They are supposed to be representing U.S. citizens.

The Dems can’t help it–they’re anti American.

          • dave harris

Guess it doesn’t matter at this point because as the poster said, we cant do anything to change it.

    • Corpseman57

IT WON’T MATTER. ANY NEW LAW WILL ALSO BE IGNORED.

  • miscalienous

It is completely irrelevant that immigration laws are broken. They certainly seem to work fine when it is people coming into the country from Europe and Canada.

What is broken is enforcement of the law with respect to people coming across the Southern border, and this President clearly is not upholding his oath of office in that regard.

Until enforcement of the current law begins in earnest, discussing any new law is a complete waste of time.

THE GOP BELIEVES you i d i o t voters have no choice but to vote for them, and the past would suggest that, but this is the last straw. THEY also believe all of you have short memories. I find it interesting that they can violate their oaths to defend the Constitution and uphold the law, yet they just give us the finger. The ILLEGAL alien Mexicans violate our laws routinely, with impunity, and they do laugh in our faces. I DEFY any of you American citizens/taxpayers to break the same laws, I guarantee you will find yourself in prison serving time. So, the politicians & illegals violate the law, and we pay for it? Still going to vote for these “A”-holes?

the lemmings who belong to both political parties now realize the congressmen do not give a rats behind about the voters needs its all about money and power and deals made behind closed doors.
.i voted for 10 Presidents and have lived under 12 last week I changed my Voter ID from Republican to NO VOTER PARTY PREFERENCE…IE I can not stomach either party and the Libertarians and Independents only get 13% of votes.
..and I live in AZ I am a NATURALIZED AMERICAN CITIZEN I did it the LEGAL WAY followed all the rules and have 6 military documents 62 years old as a army brat born overseas… My Grandparents went through Ellis Island, spoke 7 languages, and switched to ENGLISH ONLY once their feet touched American Soil…WE ALL came here and worked our frikken butts off..not held out our hands big difference
oh there are 50,000 ILLEGAL IRISH immigrants here still waiting for Obama to give them amnesty like he promised them in 2009
isn’t it amazing that the ASIAN immigrants who come here work until they collapse learn the language and have their own business within a few years times ITS THE CULTURE you work or you take..

How is this system “broken”? Enforce the laws on the books and deport illegals, children or not. We don’t need amnesty for sure and anyone who votes for it is sure to be punished come November. Why risk forfeiting the Senate and reducing your lead in the House to vote for something that you wont get credit for anyway. All the hispanics who want this passed will turn right around and vote for their favorite Democrat in the general election.

I can’t believe that these morons can’t see what’s now happening. Obama and his regime are now flooding the country with unacompained children to force the influx of their parents and other relatives. Put a stop to it now. Turn these kids back at the border. This is nothing more than a full fledged ploy to keep our border patrol and immigration officials swamped so they can’t do their real jobs and that’s stopping the illegal border crossings.

By the way it doesn’t matter what “reform” is passed the regime will only enforce the parts it likes anyway. You can’t trust this group to abide by any law passed by Congress. They’ve shown their stripes so take them at their word “we will do whatever we please no matter what the law says”.

    • dave harris

The unaccompanied children have nothing to do with Obama policy. They are here and being given green cards under the law. A law enacted by Congress under the Bush administration. It is one of the many bad laws on the books, and we need reform to change them.

      • Corpseman57

It doesn’t matter what new laws are enacted–obama will ignore them.

The Dems are brilliant; they are keeping the Republicans dancing with all these problems. It’s time to attack the real problem–obama is a tyrant who is ignoring the Constitution.

      • The Bobster

People who cross our borders are NOT automatically given green cards.

        • dave harris

No, you are right, but it relatively easy for an unaccompanied minor to get one. Once he is placed into foster care, which the law requires, then he petitions for a green card. they are doingit by the thousands. The adults will just be able to get deferred action (by executive order) which really is just a stay of deportation.

      • ggm281

No the unaccompanied children have EVERYTHING to do with Obama’s policy. They are given a TEMPORARY work permit that is good for 2 years that was created by Obama. The program was just renewed for 2 more years. It is called deferred action for relief for Dreamers I believe. The ONLY way to get a “green card” is by starting with one. (except for the multiple amnesties from 1986-1996).

Workers making less than a living wage should not have to compete with immigrants. Using immigrants to further impoverish the working poor should be criminalized by international law.

To put this in concrete terms, the minimum wage for people working in a country
not their own should be about $25/hour while the min wage for citizens should
be much lower, possibly even 0.

    EXAMPLE
Min wage for US citizens – $7.25/hour
Min wage for a limited number of foreign nationals working in the US – $25/hour
Min wage for unlimited number of foreign nationals working in the US – $50/hour or $100,000/year

A system like this would mean that US citizens working for less than $25/hour would be competing only with other US citizens and market forces should push their wages up toward $25/hour without the unemployment associated with a high minimum wage. Foreign nationals working in the US (immigrants) would be paid enough to disqualify them for any form of government subsidy or welfare thus protecting the tax payers as well as the working poor. Multi-nationals would be able to move their high level execs and highly skilled workers around without difficulty.”

    • dave harris

In a sense that is what employment based immigrants face. They have to be paid the “prevailing wage” which is above what a USC would typically work for. The problem is with the illegals who are not subject to this.

      • dougtheavenger

When you catch an employer paying less than $25/hour to any foreign national, make him back pay said immigrant at a rate of $50/hour. This will be an incentive for immigrants to turn in law breaking employers.

        • dave harris

Im allfor strong sanctions for an employer paying any illegal any wage at all. But I think we also need to impose sanctions on the illegal as well. Like deportation. E verify would work just fine if we would just use it.

          • dougtheavenger

A living wage requirement for all immigrants will price most illegals out of the US labor market. They will become unemployable.

  • I am surviving Obama

FACT 1: The document containing the highest laws in our land REQUIRE, DEMAND the Federal government secure our borders and not only have the Feds refused to do one of the very few MANDATED tasks required of them but they have openly encouraged criminal trespassers to enter this country and in many cases live off the efforts of others.

FACT 2: As the Federal Government has PROVEN without a doubt they will ignore the US Constitution (and so many of its Amendments) why on earth is there a single American who thinks any lessor law will be enforced?

FACT 3: The single reason for this surrender to Criminal Trespassers is that if our laws were enforced these FELONS would not be allowed to vote (or at least until they were dead and on the democrat voting rolls).

All “guest worker” programs are a form of Soviet style central planning where the government decides what kind of workers are needed.

If you have any questions, the primary CBO staff contact is Sam Papenfuss. Sincerely, Douglas W. Elmendorf Director cc: Honorable John Boehner Speaker Honorable Joe Garcia

Why do we need to import poverty, criminals and drugs – we have enough of our own. Send these people back to their third-world hellholes and fix their own problems. My hometown has become a massive ghetto and crime ridden $4!thole because of the illegal immigrants.

  • http://westernhero.blogspot.com/ Silverfiddle

Our feral government is making a mockery of the law.

Illegal immigrants have enlisted in the military, the government knows about it, but doesn’t do a damn thing about it.

  • Snailmailtrucker

Once you pass and enforce VOTER QULALIFICATION bills….the Democrats will completely forget about every amnesty bills and throw illegal aliens under the bus because they will no longer have a need for more potential voters….
    if they can’t vote !

  • rp454

The Federal Government is now actively working against every American citizen. They do not care what we think or want. They do not even care what happens to us. They are completely drunk with power. Time to remind them who works for whom.

    • http://westernhero.blogspot.com/ Silverfiddle

I agree with you, but I fear it is too late. Too many sheeple like it like this.

You’re living in a country that elected Barack Obama twice. That says much about our drastic decline. And Bush was only marginally better.

      • rp454

Reminds me of what a Russian official said when BO was elected. “America will survive Barack Obama, but will they survive the people that elected him?”

  • srw

Why don’t these idiots go to the border and see what a mess the Obumo Travel Agency has created. Where do you want to go. By air. By bus. Here is your ditty bag. Full of everything that you need … food stamps, welfare applications, healthcare, free housing… no more cardboard boxes for you… Obumo’s got a great Fema trailer for you to live in. Geo Soros has spent over $80 million destroying our immigration . Welcome disease, uneducated/illiterate, liars, thieves, drug cartel members. Don’t have to worry about the US laws.. just tell the law you are a friend of Barry’s. What can be better than the most corrupt Mex Dem cartel LA RAZA be registering all these illegals for the Dems. Hasn’t the LA RAZA head been staying at the WH. If any Repub/Dems backs this mess they need to lose their seats… Wasn’t it Van Jones that said they will bury the US with burdening them with masses that have no desire/means to take care of themselves. OBEY OUR LAWS.

  • staff office

The will of the people is NO!! But what does that matter for these GOP traders!!

  • silencedogoodreturns

madness. 92 million Americans not at work, and Republicans want to join Democrats in bringing 20 million low skilled foreigners into the economy? Millions more for food stamps and welfare. Millions of new Democrat voters, ensuring the final “transformation” of America into a third world stink hole. Repbublicans are apparently intent on political suicide, and ruining the probability that they could control both houses of Congress by Nov. But with amnesty, millions of Republicans are not going to bother to show up to vote. Why bother if Republicans are just going to offer Democrat programs?

  • howard patters

Steve King does have the votes to resist the push for “amnesty”, but keep the borders open for a couple more years, and things might change…

  • Megamimi

Overseas news papers encouraging illegal entry into the US directing potential invaders to just bring a child; border states being burdened with unaccompanied minors flooding the social welfare resources; drugs, guns and criminals over-running the border; human trafficking becoming more commonplace; fewer and fewer legal citizens working, and the administration anxious to provide amnesty for the scarce jobs that there are at the lower and middle end of the employment spectrum. If conservatives in Congress, regardless of the party (and even liberals who can see beyond their party nose) think that amnesty is good for this country, they have fallen under the spell of some sort of magic.

    • silencedogoodreturns

all they care about are cheap labor and free votes. The country be damned.

  • Andylit

Mario. Shut up and sit down. Stop lying. Conservatives are NOT approaching you to ask how to move forward. A handful of week kneed RINO’s may be sniffing around but none of the conservatives are.

Understand this. We, the people, GOP and Dems, stopped you losers in your tracks when Bush tried to open the borders. We will stop you again. We are going to fill your mailboxes full. We will be in your faces outside your offices. You will NOT turn this nation into a 3rd world welfare state.

    WE WILL NOT ALLOW IT!

  • SDPike

Immigration law is cumbersome and inefficient, but it is not broken. It is just ignored by this administration. Certainly, previous administrations have not been very interested in enforcing it, but this one actively thwarts it. Get some control via the mid terms and force President Obama to play defense. Congress has the purse and the Senate has the power to deny the worst nominees a chance to do further damage. Maybe some work can then be done to make the law less cumbersome.

  • Me

    Amnesty is national suicide.

  • Me

We only have an immigration problem because Democrats refuse to enforce the law.

Deport those that have illegally enter this country and close the border. For a second offense, charge, try and incarcerate at hard labor building and impenetrable concrete wall along the southern border from Gulf to Pacific. Deport when wall is complete. Charge, try and incarcerate (the longer the better) anyone that hires an illegal alien. Terminate any official that does not uphold the law, immigration or otherwise. Impeach, try and incarcerate any politician or bureaucrat that does not uphold the law, immigration or otherwise. Weeks ago, I stated to allow those children that entered this country in tow of their parents, to be maDe citizens. Not any more. You want to push amnesty on to us, we will push back with deporting all illegal aliens. CLOSE THE BORDER, NOW.

  • cranky_1970

Mario Diaz-Balart is hardly an oracle. This must be his twentieth prediction that Amnesty will pass “real soon now.”

(CNSNews.com) – The percentage of American civilians 16 or older who do not have a job and are not actively seeking one remained at a 36-year high in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In December, April, and now May, the labor force participation rate has been 62.8 percent. That means that 37.2 percent were not participating in the labor force during those months.

Before December, the last time the labor force participation rate sunk as low as 62.8 percent was February 1978, when it was also 62.8 percent. At that time, Jimmy Carter was president.

In April, the number of those not in the labor force hit a record high of 92,018,000. In May, that number declined by 9,000 to 92,009,000. Yet, the participation rate remained the same from April to May at 62.8 percent.

There will be a revolution in America should the politicians push for amnesty. I predict politicians will die in mass. America is being destroyed from within and we are NOT going to stand by and let the liberals destroy our America!

This should be our immigration policy: To those of you following the legal process, I say “Welcome to America! We hope you find the freedom and opportunity you seek”. Those here illegally should be kicked out and sent to the back of the line. Why should people breaking the law be rewarded with a path to citizenship? It just invites more lawbreakers until there is no longer a recognizable United States of America.

Most “undocumented workers,” bring in drugs as the way to get into the USA. The Mexican Drug Cartels control immigration into the US from Mexico. Do the Republicans want democrats to control all city, state, and national elections for the next 200 years, because they did not have the courage to say no to illegal immigration?

  • TxPatriot53

If the republicans continue their trek towards being a sub party of the democrats, and pass amnesty, they won’t see many voters at the polls.

    • lcky9

EXACTLY.. already talked to my friends and family we haven’t ever missed an election and NONE of us will be voting in NOVEMBER.. it will feel weird but we will NOT vote.. and that might drag over to 2016.. have had enough.. don’t need MORE of the same time to try FOLLOWING the law..

  • 5ini5ter

The message here is that Republicans don’t care about getting any votes from conservatives. They are going to be shocked in November when their suppression of their own voting base keeps them from taking over the Senate.

    • TNgutpile

You got that right. I have cast my last vote for a RINO. I’m not looking for the “perfect” candidate, just a conservative one and I won’t be brow beat by those that claim that I HAVE to vote for the Republican just to keep a Democrat out of office. RINO’s are traitors and collaborators and I will no longer lend my good name and vote to their cause.

      • 5ini5ter

Yes. We have to stop enabling them. If you think about it, we would really just be doing the party a favor. It’s like not giving an alcoholic money to buy the booze.

      • ggm281

I’m not even a “conservative” and I usually vote for (D). But I’ve become a single issue voter after 15 years in Houston. I’m happy to vote for “tea party” candidates even though I despise every platform they express except for immigration!

  • John Brown

    This about 2016.
Willard got as much of the white vote as Reagan did when carried 49 states and he still lost.

Latinos were one of the few groups to increase their share of the
electorate and with their median age just 18 years old for
native-borns, and 27 years old including immigrants (it’s 42 years old
for non-Hispanic whites), Pew Research estimates that their share of the
vote will double by 2030. That is math even Republicans can’t wish away
    — they realize they won’t win any more national races as long as
they’re losing Latinos 71-27 or worse.

    • jamesben

4+ MILLION white, non-Hispanic voters STAYED HOME in ’12.
The math is FLUID, there’s NO REASON to commit political suicide NOW – for what might happen in the future.

The better case to make NOW, and in ’16, to THE AMERICAN WORKING MAN & WOMAN is this: “SAVE YOUR JOB, save future jobs, DEFEAT this invasion – get OFF YOUR A** and VOTE CONSERVATIVE/ANTI-AMNESTY.”

      • John Brown

That’s the difference between you and the ones in the Republican party that you folks call RINOS.
They can count and you can’t.

Therefore, in 2016, instead of the over 12,000,000 Hispanic voters that
voted in 2012, there will be over 16,000,000 Hispanic voters. This is
not to mention Asian voters. We should remember that it was the Asian
voters that voted for President Obama by a 77-23 margin in the last
election. There were almost 4,000,000 Asian voters in 2012, and there
will be almost 5,000,000 in 2016. The Asian voters made the difference
that pushed Obama over Willard in Virginia, and they are the fastest
growing minority segment in the United States.

        I can only say
that if Republicans misplay their hand, and fail to move immigration
reform this year, they will lose the immigrant vote by something on the
order of 80-20 in the 2016 election. In other words, they will lose the
immigrant vote by over 13,000,000 votes. That is a very difficult number
to overcome. In fact, it is a virtual mathematical impossibility.

  • dicksi

Republicans in Congress seem to be drawn toward the immigration issue like a moth toward a flame. Actually, the Republican establishment gets a “two-fer” out of the Immigration amnesty issue…they turn illegal immigrants into Democratic voters, while demoralizing the Republican base and insure low voter turnout. How the immigration/amnesty matter helps either the Republican party or our nation is a mystery. If ever there was a high-risk, low-yield investment, this is it.

    • EdG1955

In Washington “Immigration reform” is code for legislation to manufacture tens of millions of leftist votes from tens of millions of citizens of foreign nations (12M+ living here illegally already 25M to 35M more to come with the bill).

The bill is also intended to benefit political cronies by flooding the nation’s
entry-level, semi-skilled and STEM (high tech and medicine) workforce
    with cheap foreign labor.

Bottom line: The bill will give politicians vastly more power as they will be protected from losing elections by “reform votes” and lets their cronies pocket billions more every payday in salaries *not* paid to real American citizens.

Our government will effectively become an elected tyranny and the ruling class cronies will become vastly richer.

Good times are ahead for the political ruling class… But for middle and working class Americans there will be decline, decreasing independence, lower standards of living, and loss of hope for a more prosperous future for themselves and their children.

We need to enforce the current laws, which politicians do not want to do. What the He!! are they doing if not enforcing the Constitution and the laws of our country? It seems we do not have a bi-partisan government but a Congress of millionaires. This does not bode well for the people who actually pay taxes to support our government does it? There are too many questions about our current government members including the Conservatives, the Liberals, and the Independents.

  • dougtheavenger

Foreign nationals working in the US would be paid enough to disqualify them for any form of government subsidy or welfare thus protecting the tax payers as well as the working poor. Multi-nationals would be able to move their high level execs and highly skilled workers around without difficulty.”

  • Beal Baug

  • formerusaf

It’s an amazing accomplishment that Mexicans in the U.S.A. – illegal or not, and, especially, those still remain living in Mexico – that they have two major U.S. political parties in the U.S. Congress & the White House, as well as the totality of the Mexican government, looking out for their political and economic interest above American citizens.

  • retgrd

It would seem that the mass migration may be actually advertised in mexico as well as the south american countries. It would be interesting as to the politicos/bureaucrats involved in such tactic to do a “Cloward/Piven” strategem to overwhelm the system with poor records/states and cities giving ids, rights and sanctuary to a point that an amnesty would be the only option. The average citizen will be forced to pay for all as well as endure the undeniable resulting storm of skyrocketing crime and gang/organized crime development fed by uneducated, unemployed, exceedingly poor illegals with a mix of “professional” criminals pushed by and relieving their home countries of responsibility.

  • Clete Torres

Okay, GOP. Pass an amnesty bill.

And then, enjoy being the marginalized political party, looking in from the middle of the street until God calls us all home. Because you will be, and you’ll deserve to be.

    • hun555

even if they won’t…nothing will change…just the same old same old.

  • Noctis Wolf

    What the hell?

    http://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship

We HAVE a system already! Why pass Amnesty when there is a route to citizenship already?!

    • JohnnyX67

Our system isn’t “broken” – it’s violated. Wantonly violated.

Pols like Diaz-Balart and Obama entice foreigners to violate our system. They are a DISGRACE.

  • francis

Its time for a Constitutional Convention. If we dont, I am afraid there will be blood shed. Americans are getting poorer and feeling more and more like our government is against us. When we feel like we dont have much else to lose the spark will be lit. And that is all it will take. I pray we can fix things peacefully first.

    • Samuel Day

All it will take is one incident at the wrong time and the streets will run red.

      • francis

There wont be one if we do nothing now. I personally hope the south, texas, and northern part of florida secede

        • NoTyranny2

You saw how well that worked during the first civil war which was fought over the same issues states rights and the rights of the individual.

    • NoTyranny2

Hard to fix things peacefully when you have a large group that control this nation whom are bent on the agenda of submit to our wickedness or suffer our genocide.

  • kilborn

You do this, you don’t get the Senate in November. Not threatening… just a fact.

  • Samuel Day

F the GOP. F the Democrats. F the POS in the WH.

  • Okeydoker

Go back to Cuba or Puerto Rico Diaz you traitor to America . Dirbags like you belong on lampposts .

  • NSSA3Way

My RINO has lost my vote and as near as I can tell the vote of my conservative family members and friends.

  • JohnnyX67

Diaz-Balart is a DISGRACE. He and the rest of his “Gang of Eight” pals can GTH.

  • NSSA3Way

I would have traded the American Gang Rape of Eight for the deserter.

    • JohnnyX67

How about we trade that other deserter… the one that was AWOL 9/11/12

  • Jason

Any immigration efforts these people put forward will not address our actual problems. It will be to support cheap labor and for vote pandering, nothing more. Many of these people are racists as well. Do you think many of these politicians, especially the hispanic ones, would support ‘fixing’ immigration if the majority of illegals were african instead of hispanic? I highly doubt it.

    • JohnnyX67

Cheap labor – Ha! Cheap labor ends the minute employers can not hold their illegality over them.

      • maxonepercent

true, but then they will just hire the next wave of illegal immigrants

      • dougtheavenger

Baloney. It is the employer that is breaking the law. We should pay illegals to turn in there employers and give them the big fines we take from the employer.

        • Anna Hall Bohach

Since when does the government share its “take” with you?

        • GenEarly

You mean Pay the Illegals even more than we are now? I know, let’s have a “Cash for Illegals” Pgm. or an Illegals Bailout!!! We advertise the Food Stamp Pgm in Mexico City already, but at this point Why Not? What’s left to lose? Not much.

      • Jason

They will still be cheaper than Americans. All the H1B Visas are still legal but they are cheaper than American workers and they can hold the visas over the employees head.

  • libh8er

What laws can I break and get away with? We are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation of lawlessness.

    • Anna Hall Bohach

      Act accordingly.

    • hun555

are you surprised…? why?..is there anything new is happening or just the same old bs?..we are not taken seriously..because we were collectively stupid before.

    • NoTyranny2

Most will never understand the depth and breath of the concept of what you just stated. Thank you.

  • maxonepercent

Beyond just being suicidal in the upcoming elections, passing amnesty at this time would be like the GOP handing Obama the keys to congress and telling him “do whatever you want”. Obama is already trouncing all over all existing laws and legal checks to his power, why on earth would anyone expect him to comply with any restrictions set forth in new laws?

    • hun555

name me a president in the last 25 years who has enforced immigration laws…now…the next one will be just as anxious doing so…

  • billmelater1

I could swear that the GOP is trying everything it can to loose in November.

  • Super Hero Ret

The GOP is selling off America as fast as the dems. They can all go to heil.

  • dougtheavenger

$100,000 bounty on employers who hire illegals paid by the employer and paid to the illegal alien that turns in his employer.

    • hun555

ya that is all we need…fine..and a reward.

  • GenEarly

Go ahead “Mr” Putz POTUS use your pen, executive order the Illegals to amnesty as Chuckie Schummer is threatening. Diaz-Balart is sooo afraid of Obama he wants to to do Amnesty the “legal” way through the Con-gress. It’s ALL a Sham

Feral Gov. anyway, “What difference does it make?” The sooner the illusion of government by,for, and of the people is exposed; the sooner these pretenders in DC reap the whirlwind from us.

  • Anna Hall Bohach

Alfred E. Obama: What, me worry?

  • jjr5268

The last amnesty and the politicians failing to enforce immigration laws caused today’s problem with the invaders. They just don’t learn do they.

    • GenEarly

They learned all too well, comrade. That’s why they did it again. You don’t still think those snakes in Con-gress give a sheet about you, do you?

    • hun555

of course they have…what are you talking about?..they have learned that we are stupid…

  • ezgo

Just read another report about our government setting aside over $2mil. of our tax dollars to hire lawyers to represent the rights of illegal immigrant children coming across our borders. First of all what rights should they have other than to be returned to their home country. If their parents are already here illegally they should be arrested and charged with child abandonment and endangerment. Second the country that allowed them to cross through their supposedly secure borders (Mexico) should be required to take these children back and assume any costs for their care. Third, the $2mil. would be better spent on costs of transporting them back to Mexico. I sure hope the people in our country who currently rely on government programs like Medicaid and Food Stamps will be understanding when their benefits start being cut because there isn`t enough money to pay current benefit amounts when all these poor children, their mammas and daddy`s, aunts and uncles, their cousins and so on start needing their pieces of those pies.

  • Oscar Banduzzy

Just how stupid is this Diaz-Balart person? Answer dammit!

well not you DIaz-Balart, you probably can’t even read.

  • fb0252

people named diaz pushing amnesty. is it a joke?

    • GenEarly

“WE” are the joke, continuing to support an Illegal Feral Gov. that has abandoned their own laws. the Constitution is mere window dressing and “We” all know it, even if some are afraid to admit it.

      • fb0252

everybody here is preaching to the choir. call ur reps. get the white airhead women aware of what’s going on.

  • hun555

isn’t that interesting…a bunch of upset Reagan loving right-wingers…where were you all in the early 80s?…when I was upset..now I’m laughing at your stupidity…do not come back about the “deal” Reagan made…you can tell me nothing new about it…you fell for the actor…He sold you out..now you are upset..good..get over it…this is done..we are going to have 11 million new legal residence…it is OK..we have to keep up with China’s and India’s population.

    • GenEarly

Playing the 2 party game to the bitter end, comrade? Reagan wasn’t God,never claimed to be unlike Obama. A mistake under Reagan, became soup du Jour under Bushies, Clintonistas……See Comrade, I can be bipartisan in my critique, Can you?

      • hun555

100%…and it takes me less than 8 minutes too…

    • tbone1

What’s really gonna be cool is when they get minority status of affirmative action.

  • captain psychedelic

Criminals should be punished, not rewarded. If this happens it will be suicide for gop. Thats why this is just bluster and will not move forward.

    • tbone1

      Agreed

  • Timothy Turnstone

Mario Diaz-Balart wants to move forward on Capital Hill? $17 Trillion dollars in debt and the United States borders are still not secure. America is being taken apart by the actions of Capital Hill.

  • euphemia9

Diaz-Balart may be telling the truth, but every time he is interviewed, he says the same thing. “Every day, more conservatives are asking me, ‘How do we move forward?’” I take whatever he says with a grain of salt.

  • mrrealworld

Amnesty. I see both Tenn Senators are on the Obama lovers list.

      • mrrealworld

        Ironically enough, Arizona as well.

  • freevoter2016

I wonder if Daiz-Balart would be fighting for Amnesty if the influx of Illegals were of Chinese decent or another national origin? Could it be he is a Racist trying to create a majority of Latinos in this nation for his own political future? If you look at the main proponents for Amnesty like Menendez, Guiterrez and Diaz-Balart one would have to question their motives. When American citizens voice their opposition to Amnesty they are are often called Racists in order to discount their valid arguments against the open border policy. The shoe of Racism really fits these self appointed humanists.

  • nam_vet6869

This guy is the example of the current crop of Republicans in the House and Senate. He is more Democrat then Republican just as most Republicans in Florida and as most Republicans of Cuban descent. ANy member of Congress who says the President would ber justified to bypass the Constitution and act on his own should be horse whipped and run out of DC on a rail. NEVER id a President justified to bypass the Congress on ANY law, we are not a Dictatorship yet.

  • tbone1

Put it on the November mid-term ballot and let the citizens decide, including an option for immediate deportation of those currently illegally here.

  • tightloops

This is INSANE!!!! 100,000,000 American Citizens want their jobs back from the illegals that stole them!!!!!!! SHOULD THE GOP ALLOW AMNESTY, THEY WILL NOT SEE ANOTHER TERM IN D.C. Send the illegals back to where they came from and let them enter LEGALLY. What happens when an illegal enters any other country????????? THEY GO TO JAIL!!!!!!! Why must American Citizens and LEGAL IMMIGRANTS be kicked to the curb? There are not enough jobs for all these illegals………..send them back!!!

    • NoTyranny2

That is what the Demoncrats want. Then they can succeed in their quest in completely abolishing the constitution and creating a fascist Kingship lead by the “Messiah” Obama himself.

  • Ratbite

Sounds to me like the Republican Branch of the Democrat Party(GOP) is about to commit political suicide in its headlong rush to the Ash Heap of History.

  • amyyo

Are you reps really that stupid??!! What the hell happens to these congressmen when they go off to DC? Is the lifestyle there so seductive that they suddenly forget what it’s like to live as an ordinary citizen under the laws they create for the rest of us? Term limits is long overdue.

  • carl6352

you just signed your own ouster lady if you bring this up to a vote. whats worse your doing it for the worst reason to supply low salaried workers and destroy what’s left of america! as a vast majority of legal americans say and over and over to you empty headed clowns. follow the law and deport them! it’s disgusting to see a department we keep paying to just sit around and look the other way, of course i speak of ice. a great job you get paid a great salary to just sit around!

  • lib_erator

Send them home. Send them home. Send them home. Send them home. How many times can I say this? We are not baby sitters for Latin America. This is their problem. Come and get them now!

  • oldoldtimer

Let them vote so we know who not to vote for. Even if we have to do a write in candidate to keep them out of office.

  • sukietawdry

Has anyone in Washington noticed what’s going on at the southern border right now? Hundreds of border jumpers are being released into unsuspecting communities every day. Thousands of unaccompanied minors are pouring in and are being warehoused in deplorable conditions. The border patrol is completely overwhelmed. The situation is out of control. So far, the only response from the Obama administration is to authorize $2 million for lawyers to represent the illegals at deportation hearings. The response from Congress is crickets.

Don’t talk to us about overhauling the system, Mr. Diaz-Balart, until you can tell us how you plan to get control of the “system” we have right now. We’re not even going to talk about letting you create a whole new mess until you demonstrate you can take control of the mess you’ve already created.

    • oldoldtimer

If they were stopped at the border as they should be there would be no problem. We are being invaded. That is reason enough to use the military.

    • renojmc

Exactly! Where is the media on this? And why haven’t we built the damn wall yet?

      • NoTyranny2

Don’t you mean the Goebbels Propaganda Networks? They are in bed with Obama and his friends from both parties and their goal to bring complete destruction to this nation.

    • muh_feelings

What a coincidence. Thousands of illegals released into the streets, and midterms right around the corner.

  • MaineRep

I’m not sure who he is talking to, but he is from Miami. The leadership wants to delay this until after the November elections. If they vote for it in August, they may find that they are out of jobs.

  • renojmc

Political and national suicide. It’s nothing less than that.

  • derekcrane

Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart: “Come one, come all, get your free EBT cards, Section Eight housing, Obamacare and all the welfare that you need. No hassles at the border. All are welcome. Those stupid gringos won’t know what hit them until its too late.”

  • Not Chicken Little

Just say NO to amnesty. It would be suicide for both the Republican Party and for our country. We would no longer be a nation of laws. Those who would continue to work would just be suckers paying for the “freebies” and benefits of those who would surge into the US like a flood.

Build the fence. Fine and/or imprison those who employ illegals. Obey existing laws!

    • muh_feelings

Invaders. That’s what they are. Arm our Border Patrol and tell them to shoot on sight.

  • Alejandro

Okay, I give up. Just let everyone in. The USSA should go for it and aim for 100 million “migrants.”

The country is going down the drain. Let’s make it happen as quickly as possible and start over with two different countries, one a blue state, one a red state.

Then we’ll be able to see who’s economic model works best.

    • NoTyranny2

Sadly, the commies would never allow such to happen. They feel it is their satan given right to usurp any nation that might preach the philosophies of freedom & liberty protected by God and Guns.

  • Medaton

Anyone voting for this needs to be voted out of office!!!!!

    • Marines1969

      Carried out of office

  • Dan The Man

“Amnesty” is the following: You own a home and someone knocks on your door (or sneaks in the back). You HAVE to take them in and hopefully they get a job (maybe your job) and becomes a productive member of your household. If the don’t get a job, you will still have to feed, clothe and shelter them at your expense in your own home indefinitely.

  • AZWarrior

Amnesty is the code word for the out and out surrender of national sovereignty to the special interests of Big Business and the Democratic Party. Cheap labor for Republican big business, and an increased voter base for the Democrats. The loser is the American People. Let’s see if the mid-term elections can change the outlook for this national scam.

    • NoTyranny2

+1 I don’t hold much hope with the rigged voting system. Let alone the critters that vote first to save their own [ar se]. We have become what the founders feared. A democracy ruled by the [m o b s] of [brain dead] amoral individuals living for themselves and special interests.

    • tymzup4amorika

It will end badly. It will end in war.

    • grizzled1two

Funny cartoon. But why would they portray the border with counters though? The government doesn’t care about the number of illegal aliens coming into this country.

      • AZWarrior

I suppose so the Democrats know how many voter registration cards to print. :-)

      • http://none.com Jack Everett

They have to get an accurate count so the republicans will know how many more jobs to trickle down.

  • NoTyranny2

Watch as the treasonous sold out [R I N O s] bow to the liberal agenda. They have already sold their soul and have endorsed the agenda of the [demon crats] to destroy this nation. They know it is only a matter of time before Obama brings drone strikes AND no knock raids (aka [assass inations]) upon any that refuse to bow to the agenda of destruction and they don’t want to be a target. Your voice no longer matters and the elections are rigged. It is only a matter of time….. Bow to the bloodthirsty [NA ZI] AGENDA OR ELSE SUFFER THE GENOCIDE THEY HAVE PLANNED UPON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!! It is time to wake up.

    • tymzup4amorika

  • Tea Party Anarchist

    1776. 2nd Amendment. Amen.

    • grizzled1two

Why do you think they are making the push to legalize illegal aliens. They come from countries that already criminalize gun ownership and when they elect a Dem majority in all three branches, 2nd Amendment es muy bye, bye.

  • attackslack

Amnesty by August! Isn’t that special!. I can’t wait for my tax dollars to be spent on ignorant, uneducated, unskilled illegals sucking up US government benefits, let alone considering our own homebred that can’t find jobs or are underemployed.

A third party replacing big government, non-conserrvative Republicans in two years? Now that would be very, very, special.

Bohner, Cantor, Ryan, Graham, McCain, cork suckers, et al… kiss my biden.

    • tymzup4amorika

No. Traitors. Punishable by death. That law did not go away with Tricorn Hats and Muskets.

  • Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha

Of course it will pass. We let illegal immigrants vote in states that did not require ID”s such as California. If so then those who “qualify” to vote will be the same people crossing the border.

  • tymzup4amorika

I know Amnesty will happen before the November elections. It is the Republic killer and most real Patriots have known for over a year this was the next Communist Plank to fall into place. We will be at war with one another by the end of the decade. Period. I am ready. I pray others are also. This great country is NOT going to roll over and take this crap anymore! This is our fault for letting America become a cesspool over 50 short years. Time to reboot and end the monsters in D.C.

  • Marines1969

Don’t fall for this aholes talk! GOP knows they will lose big in November if they approve amnesty and Gang of 8 bill. Gang of 8 = 56,000,000 foreign workers and stayers over next 10 short years.

    • grizzled1two

Exactly! Add that to the 96 million already unemployed. It’s as if they are adding the detonators and blasting caps into the C4 that is our country right now.

  • Marines1969

EU is getting its flood of illegals as well. They have open border like we have now. Wide open for Dreamers and anyone else.

  • Frank Castle

“The tree of liberty needs to be watered with the blood of patriots from time to time” We are getting very close to this happening. If we are going to have any chance, those who identify with the Tea Party, that are members of the GOP, need to pull out ASAP if this vote is taken this summer. Make a credible threat to pull of the GOP and pull the trigger if Boehner goes forward with this vote. Then, watch the GOP dreams crumble in the Fall of winning the Senate and maybe losing the House. This is the only hope other than a Second Civil War or Revolution.

    • http://none.com Jack Everett

So how much blood do you paln on watering the tree with?

Yes Bush did everything better including

murdered over 1.4 million innocent Iraqi citizens

          created the great recession

created the biggest government in history

          created the treasonous patriot act

Let’s do a little fact check shall we Jack?

The number of murdered Iraqi citizens (who were in a war zone) is from the now discredited Lancet report.

Compared to our current economy, Bush’s economy was a juggernaut

Are you talking Federal expansion? This sounds like a huffpo talking point.

Actually he signed Patriot act into law. But you’ll notice that obama has endorsed it and refused to get rid of it.

            No idea.

You do realize that more Americans have been killed in Afghanistan under obama than Bush right?

            Now you’re rambling.

            Seriously rambling.

Fast and Furious is an obama operation. You’re thinking Operation Gunrunner.

            Was elected twice.

It’s all a rigged game. The oligarchy that runs this country will eventually get the immigration bill passed. Why? It’s easier to control the citizens when a house is divided against itself. A divided nation will keep the masses fighting each other while the so called “elite” continue to abscond our wealth and erode what rights we have left.
The passage of the immigration bill will be the final coup de gras for any type of opposition in saving this country.

The Reality of the so-called “Immigration Reform”…..

► FACT: The Democrats know they need a steady supply of stupid to win elections. America’s teachers unions do their part by turning out the dumbest, most ill-informed cretins this side of Africa! ……….. BUT DAT AIN’T ENOUGH!!

No, no… We need to import stupid from Mexico, South America, Africa and every other 3rd world cesspool where people depend on the government for everything !!! (then we can even get an ignorant, arrogant, 3rd world leftist street agitator elected as POTUS)

Amazing, isn’t it? America has one political party that will trash American culture and heritage in the hopes of staying in power.

► FACT: Allowing immigration without assimilation is committing cultural suicide. In fact, immigration without assimilation is basically an invasion.

Immigration to America in the 17th to 19th century was by decent, hardworking, well intentioned people, heading to America with honorable intentions to build and contribute to society. But no such people come any more.

They pile over the borders on visitor visas, preying on good natured Americans to provide a refuge for the oppressed, they connive the appearance of the downtrodden and persecuted, and then sit down comfortably and stay here, leeching off of America’s ridiculously generous social services network.

► FACT: Brown and black skin minorities commit the vast majority of violent crime in America, so why in the world would we go out of our way to let more of them into America?

There is a reason Mexico is Mexico, and there is a reason Africa is Africa. If we keep letting more brown/black skin minorities, then it’s only a matter of time until America becomes just like Mexico or Africa.

    Is that what you want?

    • Stephen Schmengle

    • chuck_in_st_paul

it is illegal for a non-citizen to vote in a federal election

in some local venues it is legal for any resident to vote as long as they are here legally (green card).

    • Rednecksrule

Illegals are doing everything else, so they are voting… I suspect that the Democrats are so hot and heavy on preventing states from requiring any sort of proof of citizenship because they know damn well that illegals are voting. But do you think anyone will actually investigate this? Right.

    • An_Angry_American

It is illegal in California to vote, but they can legally get driver’s licenses and they are automatically registered to vote when they do. It is up to them not to. But they do vote, in droves, and it is illegal to ask for ID by the polling workers.
Thanks, Democrats, for subverting our system once again- and thanks, Republicans, for hopping on board. You are all traitors.

Any Idea that Chuck “The Schmuck” Schumer thinks is a good idea is a galactically stupid idea.

If the Republicans (especially Jeb Bush and Chris Christy) goes for giving Illegal Aliens amnesty, I am done with the GOP. I will never vote for a Republican who votes for amnesty (that’s you Pete King) and will vote only on the New York Conservative Party line. If a conservative votes for this societal suicide pact, they are no conservative, they are a hard left-wing progressive.

If there are no alternatives, than there is no point in voting, voting gives these political criminals the patina of legitimacy, this is America and not some Third World compost heap like Cuba, Egypt, Iran or Syria.

  • Alecto

I’ve been writing to my Republican Rep., who was elected as a Tea party candidate. Yesterday, in response to my repeated emails opposing an unlimited expansion of visas, I received this response:

“Thank you for contacting me regarding high-skilled immigrant visas.

In January, a bipartisan group of eight United States Senators put forward a framework for broad-based immigration reform. Since the birth of this nation, America has been the beneficiary of the skills and education that many IMMIGRANTS bring with them or come to the United States to seek.

While the House of Representatives is not presently considering legislation to amend the H-1B visa program, it may be revised within the broader framework of immigration reform. On February 4, 2013, Representative Darrell Issa introduced H.R. 459, the STEM Visa Act of 2013. This legislation eliminates the diversity visa lottery program and allocates the 55,000 diversity visas instead to two new visa categories for Doctoral and Master’s graduates from qualifying American universities and colleges. H.R. 459 requires an employer to petition for the graduate, and to demonstrate that there is a lack of similarly qualified American workers to fill the position. Similar legislation (H.R. 6429) passed the House of Representatives last year with my support, but was not considered by the full Senate before the adjournment of the 112th Congress.

H.R. 459 was referred to the House Judiciary Committee for further review.

Fostering an economy where every American who wants a job can find one must be our top priority. However, some positions remain unfilled due to a lack of qualified and able applicants. Meanwhile, many foreign nationals with temporary student visas study and receive training at U.S. higher education institutions and would be willing to fill these positions but cannot remain in the U.S. The limitless possibilities that come with hard work and perseverance have defined the American Dream for generations and have made our great nation the envy of the world.

Our nation’s open-arms embrace of immigrants who come to the United States seeking freedom, prosperity and a chance at a better future for their family, contributes both to our nation’s uniqueness and “exceptionalism”. (emphasis mine)

What many fail to realize is that while America has led the world in scientific and technological achievements, the tables are turning. We are losing many of those who are trained by excellent scholars and professors in the United States to our international competitors, and this will harm American innovation and achievement. We need a system that will allow those who have been trained in America to accept employment here to the mutual benefit of our nation and the
applicant. Of course, if an individual would prefer to take their skills and education to another nation, they are and always have been at liberty to do so. We would however, be unwise to ignore the desire of highly skilled applicants who would prefer to remain in the U.S. and contribute and prosper within our borders, but for an outdated, limited, and lengthy immigration process.

American prosperity depends on American innovation. Fortunately we have an advantage: our colleges and universities attract the world’s brightest minds. Allocating green cards to top talent in the STEM fields means American employers can out-innovate global competitors and create needed American jobs.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. I am honored to serve the people of Central Florida as your U.S. Representative.”

    ————————————————————

Our immigration laws are not broken–but our will to enforce them is.
We have a huge double standard here. While we allow millions of Hispanics to not only enter out country illegally–costing taxpayers hundreds of billions in free health and welfare services, education, etc. while most pay no federal income taxes because they have no social security number. Meanwhile those entering the US from Europe and other countries are monitored 100 percent. They must have a passport, in some cases a visa, and pass through customs. They must comply with our immigration laws.
So why is it that our immigration laws only seem to be broken when it comes to Hispanics but works just fine for everyone else?
We don’t need to physically deport everyone here illegally. Instead, we can eliminate the incentives for them to come and stay, and they will self-deport back to their home countries.
Require positive confirmation a person is here legally before they can be employed. Refuse benefits to those here illegally. Refuse to educate the children of those here illegally.
Eliminate the incentives and illegal immigration will slow to a trickle and those already here will begin to go home to find work.
Eliminate the incentives and the southern border is no longer a problem except catch criminals and terrorists and more border resources would be freed up to do that.
For those illegals in prison (except for murder, manslaughter, and rape), give them the opportunity to return home for good. If they are caught here again, the they will finish out their sentences plus another twenty years.
But as long as we provide incentives for people to flood into our country just to get all the free goodies that we are paying for, it will never end no matter what Congress tries to do.
The amnesty program under the Reagan administration was supposed to end the illegal problem. It did not. Congress passed a law to build a border fence but DHS has dragged its feet and only a couple of miles were ever completed.
As Pogo famously said, “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

    • An_Angry_American

There are only a couple of politicians who actively fight against amnesty.
The only thing stopping it is the outcry of the public, and politicians are trying hard to shut that out.

It’s not America they care about it’s the corporate blood money they suck on.

      • rp454

I’m not sure I even buy the corporate argument. I know the Chamber of Crony Capitalism has been pushing for immigration reform, but why? If you are a business, you must pay minimum wage. It’s not like the people coming across are highly skilled. So unless you are cutting grass or hauling trash, you have to train these people from scratch.
WHERE is the desire to bring all these people here COMING FROM??????

        • http://none.com Jack Everett

You have to remember that the federal and state minimum wages are not the same for farm workers and waitresses or Casino workers.

Americans can’t live on minimum wage salaries without welfare help the cost of living is to high. If a waitress has a slow night or week she has no pay for the time she has to put in on a job but these illegals are desperate and many are already half starved and will work for these low wages knowing they can get welfare to support them.

It’s always corporations that support this kind of sellout of America by funding the politicians that will play up to them. Koch Brothers Exposed

          • rp454

Oh please, Jack Everett. I don’t see a lot of illegals in the casinos or the restaurants. They are all in the kitchens. SEIU runs that game anyway. Go yell at them.
Just so you don’t go through your entire life drinking the Kool Aid or fellating Harry Reid, I will attempt to enlighten you.

The Koch brothers have a reputation, like Henry Ford, of paying a wage HIGHER than their competitors at the businesses they own.. Not to mention higher than the minimum. You tend to attract a more skilled and loyal worker group that way. Good business practices.

Alas, I would not expect a drone in love with Harry Reid to understand good business practice though. Too busy chasing the rabbit politicians like Reid throw out for you. Ooohhhh the EVIL KOCH BROTHERS! Do not look at what I am doing in Nevada. Focus ALL your attention on those EVIL KOCH BROTHERS!

Pity. I incorrectly assumed your IQ was above stupid.

Your hate for Americans and their families shows very clear and your welfare queen status will not last forever.

The biggest foreign lease holder in Canada’s oil sands isn’t Exxon Mobil or Chevron. It’s the Koch brothers.

Koch scum are the worlds biggest land destroyer and environment disaster next to Exxon.

It Wasn’t Conservatives That Were Being Investigated by the IRS; It Was the Koch Brothers’ Front Groups

It’s Koch scum chemical factories that are always blowing up in Texas.

Folks, the JBS, through the Koch brothers, is back embedding itself in the hierarchy of the GOP. And the JBS might really be at the root of both the Tea Party and the Libertarian Party. Consider the connection between the failed Presidential bids by Congressman Ron Paul, the JBS, and the Koch brothers. The Koch Brothers, Ron and Rand Paul, and the John Birch Society

I thought you were a serious commenter but your last comment proves me wrong and your just another uninformed politically correct fool.

The “fact” that the Koch brothers are the largest holders of Canadian oil sands was been debunked months ago! In fact they will lose money if the Keystone XL is built, because cheaper Canadian oil will flow in, reducing the value of their holdings in the US.

Koch brothers front groups were the target of the IRS? Really? You will swallow just about anything won’t you, Jack? That rises beyond stupidity to epic willfull ignorance.

You question my patriotism, Jack, you better be ready to back it up. Pathetic Kalifornia Communist. You talk big, but your panties would suck right up in your a$$ if you ever got challenged face to face with a real American.

I’ve lived, worked and traveled all over these United States of America and see suspected illegal aliens in many occupations. • rp454

Almost missed that last cartoon. Let’s see…

Tea Party shut down the government for 16 days… Hmmmm. It takes two opposing sides not willing to give in to shut down the government, idiot. Where is Obama’s and Reid’s blame? By the way, the government will be shut down for at least 104 days this year. It’s called WEEKENDS!

Obamacare is a trainwreck. Go encourage all your little Democratic friends to campaign on Obamacare. PLEASE!

Minimum wage. Do you have the least bit of education on economics Jack? Obviously not. Seatac, Washington tried it and is now suffering increased unemployment and tax loss because of it. Can’t wait to see what will happen in Seattle. You raise the minimum wage, you price yourself out of the market. Unless you want to pass a law that everyone has to eat at McDonalds once a week, it is suicide. Funny part about it is, the peoples’ economic conditions you are trying to improve suffer the most. A few get raises, most lose their jobs. Flipping burgers is not a job to train for if you want to get ahead. Get off your lazy a$$ and improve your skill set.

All received thousands from the NRA. Well $hit Jack. Who is Soros spending his money on these days? Hmmmm? The NRA is a lobbying group just like the “Courage Campaign Super Pac”. Should the “Courage Campaign” be demonized as well. I think they should at least be ridiculed for the Marxist moniker.

Strongly oppose a woman’s right to murder her unborn child. GUILTY. But, then again, most mothers, fathers and churches also oppose that “right”.

        Get a life Jack.

I studied economics in college. You know, that place the smart people go to furthur their educations so they do not have to live on minimum wage.
Keep dreaming communist pig. You could not get me to live in Kalifornia for all the money in the US. By the way, that is just about what it will cost to bail Kalifornia out when you guys look like Detroit.

By the way, Jack. You just did what all stupid liberals do. You ignored all my rebuttals and reverted to ad hominem attacks. You idiots are so predictable.

          • rp454

One last thought, Jack Everett. You want to brag about the Kalifornia economy. I have a few questions:

Why is the Kalifornia economy shrinking and the Texas economy booming?

Why are businesses moving out of Kalifornia to the surrounding states?

How much of your economy is based on “evil” Defense Contract spending?

How much of your economy is based on illegal migrant farm labor?

How much of your economy is based on companies that manufacture their products at FOXCONN in China?
