Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Boehner Over Unemployment Extension (Updated) (Video)

Updated 3:25 p.m. | An Indiana man has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly threatening to kill Speaker John A. Boehner over his refusal to pass an unemployment extension, according to court filings.

Brandon J. Thompson, 32, of New Castle, Ind., faces federal charges for allegedly making email and telephone threats to an elected official, according to a news release. FBI agents arrested Thompson at his home Thursday night, where he admitted to the charges, according to a criminal complaint. He faced a U.S. magistrate judge on Friday morning.

Thompson lost his $341-a-week unemployment insurance check in January, and blamed Boehner for the lack of an unemployment extension, according to the complaint.

He is accused of obtaining Boehner’s wife’s personal cellphone number and leaving voice mail messages in early May to relay several threats against the speaker, stating among other things that he would “get his hands on him,” and “rip his fucking head off,” because he “shoulda extended unemployment insurance.”

On May 1, Boehner’s wife Debbie reported to Capitol Police that she received a threatening voice mail attacking the Ohio congressman for not passing an unemployment extension.

“I’m coming after your oompa loompa fucking husband. He should … he shoulda extended unemployment insurance. Now it’s too late. Imma rip his fucking head off,” said the voice on the message.

Five days later, Boehner’s wife again notified the Capitol Police of an eerily similar message: “You tell you husband to redo the unemployment extension because I’m going to come for him. I’m going to rip his fucking head off. He’s not untouchable. I will get my hands on him.”

FBI agents tracked the number to Thompson. In the course of the investigation, agents also found that Thompson is the neighbor of another man who was investigated because his IP address matched that of a threatening email sent to Boehner though his office’s website.

Here’s the all-caps message sent through the contact form on Boehner’s website: “WELL YOU DRUNK JOHN BIN LADEN IT’S TIME TO TAKE YOU OUT MOTHERFUCKER YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH 2.7 MILLION PEOPLES LIVES I AM GOING TO TAKE YOURS YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT COMING WITH MY SNIPER RIFLE WERE YOU SOON :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-).

Investigators believe Thompson logged on to his neighbor’s unencrypted wireless router to make the threat, according to the criminal complaint.

The owner of the wireless router told investigators that Thompson had pulled a gun on a debt collector approximately four years ago.

Thompson had received unemployment checks of $341 per week until Jan. 11. The last emergency unemployment benefits extension expired in December, and an effort to revive the benefits has been heated on Capitol Hill ever since.

Boehner has so far refused to allow a vote on an unemployment extension. His office declined to comment on the arrest.

Phone records show 19 calls made from a phone owned by Thompson to Boehner’s wife’s cellphone between April 8 and May 6, according to the complaint. Thompson has had five protective orders against him, filed in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2014.

“Free speech is the cornerstone of our democracy but threats of violence have no place in our civil society,” said Joseph H. Hogsett, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, in a statement. “People who are inclined to make them need to know that they violate the law and they will be aggressively pursued.”

Threats to members of Congress are a common occurrence, especially during times of heated political debate. Yet many go unsolved because they are often difficult to investigate.

The main group that has had income increase under Obama is the top 10%. It is a myth that democrats are for the poor. How democrats bridge the income gap is to take away money from rich versus insuring our economy is thriving and growing. So why is it that the top 10% has gained the most under Obama (democrats)?

I know a lot of poor people slaving for rich people. What is your point? Rich people do not create jobs, That is a fantasy. Poor people make rich people wealthy. Without employees, corporations would not earn a nickle, yet somehow they have twisted the script to convince people like you that they are doing Americans a favor by allowing us to work for them. The truth of the matter is we were much better off with smaller, neighborhood businesses owned by members of the middle class, who lived among us and paid us a fair wage and didn’t require billions of dollars in tax cuts in return.

I went to Catholic school for 12 years and wasn’t allowed to fall asleep. I am tired of just the one sided story that only the right is obstructing and the other is just doing their best, it is. So, in your vivid illustration, I am the student and you are the teacher? How liberal of you, why do people normally, need laxatives and/or an enema? One other thing, Lerner and other higher ups in the IRS must have just on their own decided to target and audit conservatives right? It had NOTHING to do with Obama’s, Reid’s and Pelosi’s constant denigration against conservatives. Obama saying and I quote, “reward our friends and punish our enemies” is like all heart warming and stuff. Have you read any of the emails that were only released AFTER a lawsuit and were not released when Congress subpoenaed them? Not releasing emails when subpoenaed is a criminal offense.

I’ve read all about HAARP. It’s an antenna which uses the ionosphere to focus radio waves so they can penetrate to submarines submerged at depth. There’s no HAARP “weather control” or “mind control.” As for DHS, I have talked to many people and read many articles, and I believe the points summarized in this Breitbart report should dispel that particularly crazy conspiracy theory: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/04/04/The-Great-DHS-Ammunition-Stockpile-Myth

Also, you might want to look at your own statement. “Oliver North planned the sale…” Where is Reagan at in that statement?

In addition, no one is innocent. Not even Reagan. I know the Right idolizes the man, but in all reality, both sides are guilty. Nevertheless, don’t criminalize a man that negotiated the fall of the USSR without firing a bullet. Not to mention, Reagan, unlike BO, was not a racist coward that armed agencies to fight the American population.

If they choose no treatment and choose the drug, then allow them all they want, then allow them a simple burial. it is time for personal responsibility, and if you want to do hard drugs, then you better figure out how to do them responsibly, cause we aren’t going to resuscitate or incarcerate you anymore.

If those unfortunate unemployed wanted to keep their jobs then they should had sex with their boss so they would have been promoted. If the lord intended them to prosper, then he would have given them rich parents. They had the same opportunity to select their parents as Paris Hilton had when she selected hers. John Boehner will solve this problem by having those useless eaters euthanized, cremated, then given back to their families in a jar with Heinrich Himmler’s autograph on the jar.

If the SS ever released how many threats Obama has received, you would be shocked. I have an idea, Obama is the most threatened president in the last 50 years.
No wonder Obama signed a paper in his first term giving SS protection to former presidents for the rest of their lives.
He knew, he would need it himself. He may be dumb, but he ain’t totally stupid.

        4:13 p.m.

Look, I understand your outrage but he has a point. When you make people desperate they will do desperate things. Only 10 percent of the EBT folks are mooching. What you should really be worried about is the 168 dollars a day in administrative costs that is the national average to keep a family unit on social services. That number incudes all the pay and benefits these unionized gov workers make… plus the facilities cost. That works out to 5000 dollars plus per month to give people less than 1000 dollars in benefits (only single moms), 400 if your single. So your tax money is going to pay for all these gov workers benefits and such… yet your worried about the 500 dollars to feed someone…. think about it.

A Terror Threat (placing a person in fear for their life ) against a Rep. or Senator or the POtuS in office, is a Felony. This liberal made a choice, get off his rear and do something to earn a living or let the government support him with three hot’s and a cot in a cell block.

Actually, fascism is a form of socialism in which the govt forms partnerships with the owners of said nation’s means of productivity, generally to the detriment of its own people. Examples are Hitler’s administration and IG Farben; another is the Obama administration’s partnership with Solyndra, Wall Street banks, etc

Not when it is a threat to harm. It is called a “terroristic threat” and can sometimes get you in just as much trouble as the actual act. People need to be careful what they say on these boards because they are all being watched for things like that and it will get flagged. I understand perfectly well the frustration but that will only get you in hot water for sure. There is a very fine line between threat and free speech.

It depends… I would plan on learning about Social Services… it will take you 3 weeks to a month to get help from them. Make sure you get everything in writing and receipts for any paperwork you are going to be responsible for. Also be aware that you’re going to get a lot less help from them than you think you’re going to get.

You could get 200 dollars per month in SNAP… but it depends on the state to a point when it comes to other bennefits. If you’re single you may get about 450 dollars a month most of which will have to go to rent (if you’re a renter) leaving you with about 100 or so in cash. You may say “I’ll grab a BS job at min pay”… that’s fine if that’s what you do for a living. But be carful, if you’re a professional who may have to travel to an interview you could get yourself fired from that BS job, which, if you’re in NY will get you sanctioned for 90 days (no benefits other than SNAP). My point is that you need to make calls and search the internet to educated yourself. Many people are resorting to Social Services because of the 26 weeks and the fact that most people are averaging up to 3 years before getting work, especially if you’re a tech Pro… if you sweep floors… no problem.

I’ve had 3 interviews…no luck…I’ve applied for jobs that I wouldn’t normally take because I HAVE to get an income…I’m a college graduate with a good head on my shoulders who fell on hard times…this is my first and hopefully only time dealing with unemployment. Its easy for people such as yourself to make comments as you do when you have a job and a way to support your family…this is of no concern to you….I don’t have $ flowing in other than the whopping $11 an hr my husband makes. Our kids are both special needs, I’ve worked every day of my life since the age of 14…so don’t sit there and judge my life because I don’t give a lick about your opinion…..if you ever lost your job and needed help I’d pray for you not tear you down.

If you’re going to make a comment, then at least know what your talking about. Professionals know what companies they can send resumes to… they also know that when you stray from your field, you go to the bottom of the stack. I’m an aerospace engineer and just how many jobs do think I can put in for… just as an example. I have specific expertise in my field… but even then, if I put in for jobs in my field outside my specialty, I’m put to the bottom of the stack. We’ve lost at least 30 million careers since NAFTA was signed by Clinton.

How about you ask her what her goals are before telling her they are misguided.

She didn’t say what her specialty is, so you’re speculating just as much as I am. I’m a college grad too, with a degree in IT. I get no less than 6 emails a week from recruiters looking to hire me for projects. Most are out of my geographic area, but if my kids were hungry I’d jump. In fact, today I finished my first week at a new company. My commute went from 26 miles/day to 202 miles/day. I spend 8hrs at work & 4hrs commuting until I raise the money to move. This job pays 1/3 more than my last one, so it won’t take long. There is certainly short-term difficulty for me, but it will be better in the long-run.
If Jessica’s degree is in “Visual Arts” or “Philosophy” and she lives in Podunk, MS, then her marketability isn’t going to be that great. Simply being a college grad isn’t going to do the trick. If you don’t have what the industry wants, you’re going to be sitting at home.

Think of how much you would pay without the subsidies.

I get it. Some people are very concerned that no one should receive more than they “deserve.” Even among conservatives you will find a range of opinions as to what exactly should be covered under public infrastructure.

But some conservatives (a few represented here) have the unhinged notion that a large group of diverse people suddenly lacks motivation and desire to work. Many in this category are already running on fumes, and they’re accused of simply not trying hard enough.

In a supposed leader of first world industrialized countries, it’s insane that some US politicians expect citizens to live as if this was 1914 instead of 2014. The resources exist, but they have “trickled” upward.

In any case, I suppose we can look forward to the New New Deal in 2033. :)

“I have never looked to government to take care of me or my family when I had nothing!”

It’s one thing if an individual chooses to refuse help, but would you risk permanent damage of your loved ones just to uphold a personal philosophy? For instance, if your child needed crucial dental work, would you risk the chance of death as the result of in infection rather than letting government resources fund the surgery?

Just because you choose not to accept help doesn’t validate any negative criticism you might give to someone who does use available resources. Just because not everyone is running a race to the bottom doesn’t mean they lack motivation or desire to work.

The real danger to America is not just gay Obama alone, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a filthy sodomite like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of a gay Obama presidency than to restore the necessary, commonsense ,Godliness and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a creature for their president.

The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr.gay Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the gay fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. “The Republic can survive a gay Obama, who is, after all, merely a gay fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”

…I don’t condone such acts as Mr Thompson committed as they do nothing to help the situation and in some cases hurt our cause even more.

However where is the compassion for the three million+ of us who have lost or are about to lost everything when Mr Boehner himself as well as other conservatives in his camp insult us by calling us “lazy good for nothings”? We were once hard working people who lost our livelihoods due to a recession fueled by speculation and bad decision making on the part of our nation’s financial institutions and poorly crafted legislation that allowed it to occur. They got a bailout while those who are still struggling in the wake of he collapse get nothing but insults from people who should know better.

I have never seen such vehemence leveled at a group of people as I have on this issue. It is unbecoming of a government that is supposed to be looking out for our interests, not that of the corporations or other nations.

Today there was a moment of silence on the house floor for the Nigerian schoolgirls ho were kidnapped. Indeed, a very sad situation. However what about a little compassion those here at home who have been pushed out on the street, or a moment of silence for those who took their life after losing everything they worked their entire lives for while having no opportunities in sight? No, we are “just lazy good for nothing bums” who don’t deserve the time of day.

What Mr Boehner has done is basically single handedly violate the basic legislative process by not allowing the measure to go to a floor vote. He is allowed to usurp complete power over the rest of congress, yet cries foul when the President exercises Executive Privilege on a measure where he (Obama) had perfect right to use “the power of the pen” so to say. Personally I have not been a big fan of the ACA as it still involves the private insurance industry and is made mandatory through threat of penalty from the IRS. I’m fortunate that my state has it’s own health plan which I am currently enrolled in.

      …be that as it may.

Mr Boehner demands jobs creation be part of the measure, but he and his party have yet to advance anything to help people get back to work. Bills like Keystone XL are stopgaps that do not address the real cause underlying the issue of continued long term unemployment, for once those jobs dry up, we will be back to where we are now. No. we need a true long term solution that reaches everyone from age 18 – 70 which includes skill improvement/development and assists in transitioning to new occupations as the job market changes, but so far neither side of the congressional aisle has put one forth. This should also include the business sector which already receives incentives through tax breaks, but which is still seemingly reluctant to hire.

As to getting ourselves heard, I believe a better route would be to organise and march on Washington for what I like to call “Economic Rights” just as people did for Civil Rights 51 years ago. Unfortunately so many are now so destitute, most likely that will never happen. Meanwhile some other kook will no doubt come along and do something as pointless as Mr. Thompson, which will only hurt us more.

There are more than 2.6 million unemployed workers without benefits since late last December. While the Republican Senate has made delay after delay, and have taken senate break, after senate break, these poor families have been left hung out to dry, without any means to live, and support their families. There is really a TRUE CRISIS here, which needs our attention and action. The Republicans must STOP holding the Extension Bill “Hostage” in the senate, and PASS the much needed bill to help these poor families in need. Many of these families have faced eviction, home foreclosures, bankruptcy, and homelessness. Lives are being ruined, along with these people’s credit rating. The Republicans should not use these families for “political Leverage”, and bargaining chips. They are using the XL Pipeline Bill in exchange for passing the extension bill. Where are their party’s so called” family values”?

That’s just not correct. Repubs have been in control of Congress for 20 of the last 30 years. Had they wanted to repeal or diminish corporate taxes, or reduce regulation, they were free to do so. Most corporate regulation is in fact bi-partisan, and I agree, much of that is wasteful and just there to satisfy the desires of the politically correct class, democratic or republican. If you whine that divided government has prevented repubs from lowering corporate taxes, well, get used to more of the same because the same forces who are blocking democratic initiatives now will be there on the democratic side in future congresses in sufficient numbers to prevent republican excesses from being enacted.

It’s just unfortunate that many of us lack the ability to recognize what’s in question at this moment, while the others blatantly refuse to admit what’s the real issue over here. It’s not about left or right, it’s about a man frustrated and desperate enough to commit actions that in any way does not define him. It’s about a man who questionably epitomize the state of mind of many Americans that have deprive from their lifeline and who lost everything they’ve ever work hard for. It’s about a man who couldn’t provide basic necessities for his family and himself and started acting in an irrational manner, as far as threatening the source of his anguish, and taking his anger out of others. I personally do not condone his actions, but I’m sure you would agree with me, I damn sure do not condemn nor blame him for it. His actions are well overdue and Boehner has it long coming. People are starting to realize that being a victim of bullying does have repercussion. We as a society fail this poor soul in many ways, us in part, our inaction in the face of insurgents like Boehner, and our leaders for allowing the benefits to expire. Every single complains the FBI has against this man just is showing me that, he try hard enough, he allowed his hopes to reach a high level after multiple promises made by our congress leaders, the elevate him to a very high altitude by feeding him with empty promises, and what we seeing right now is the reactions of his fall. America is growing tired of people like Boehner, a heartless tyrant only trying to satisfy his means and his kind. A guy like Boehner who weasel his way to the top, after deceiving a lot of Americans, a drug and alcohol addict who belongs in a rehabilitation center or an asylum but certainly not in an institution such as the congress. I’m wondering how can you even support a man like that?
He has no value, you must be brain washed to even openly vouch for a man who belongs in a sewer with his kind, bunch of rats who need to be eradicated.

The definition of senate is kindergarten and the definition of congress is special education…

It is really sad when the people of America are incapable of standing united in their beliefs. The bottom line is that the reason the price of goods is always on the rise and the taxes just keep on growing year after year is that our government is boken and all parties care only in helping the rich and theirselves and say the hell with the people as they are only tax dollars on hooves!

Giving big businesses hundreds of billions in tax breaks pays for their profits and bonuses and we pick up the tab!

We pay big businesses to send job overseas!

We pay for their illegal wars!

We pay for the billions in foreign aid!

We pay for illegal immigrants that work for lower wages and take our jobs away that are meant for real Americans!

    And the list is endless!

And when the unemployed ask for a little help because of loss of jobs created by big businesses and government greed, all we get is your lazy and you just want the government to support you!

And while the unemployment should be extended with no strings attached, our GREAT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS are doing this which is a congressional bill passed in March 2010 and becomes law on July 1st 2014 and has to do with capital controls and remember that our government knew of this before 2008.

You Should Be Scared! Very Scared! If This Is Real, We Are All Screwed!!!!

Ok, I’m going to break this down for you that even a 5 year old can understand it.

First off, that “illegal war” as you stated, was approved by CONGRESS and the UN along with it’s 17 worthless resolutions to Saddam. Also, he had used the intel that both CONGRESS and the rest of the world had. Another thing is, had we not gone in there, we wouldn’t of found out about the UN oil for food FRAUD that helped Saddam collect billions of dollars as he was starving his people…. You should read the CIA’s own Darfur report that showed Saddam was using that money to start back in weapons program…

Also, for gas prices, When Oblama came in, in the mist of the democrat made recession…The avg gallon of gas was just $1.78 for Jan 2009, 2 months in office, he order Salazar to shut down what Bush opened up and in 2010 he had him shut it all down…. Drilling on federal lands, under him is down some 50% and offshore drilling, forget it…Thank god for private lands opening themselves to drilling….Otherwise, it would of been worse…As it is, his now avg From Jan 2009 to Mar 2014 is $3.19 according to the data in bls.gov …Some places like Commie-fornia is even worse….

See where gas goes to if things go to war in Ukraine…

Or better yet, you and others will have a heart attack seeing where gas climbs to when things come to full blown war in the oil rich middle east with Israel having to defend themselves with Iran (the mother ship of terror around the world) and the Arabs…..

To note, the event can happen at any moment… As it’s expected that Iran will have a nuke sometime this year and Israel has already warned that they will not, nor should they, allow a nuclear Iran …

Oblama has already abandoned Israel’s and our national security. It is up to Israel to save us.

See the 3 episode series called “Addicted to Money”. When the Glass-Steagall Act of 1932 was rescinded in 1999 the financial banks bought out the legitimate commercial banks. The wall street financial banks then borrowed money at 1% interest from the federal reserve and loaned it out at 5% to 7% in mortgages. The banks did not care if the mortgagees could repay their loans, since the banks securitized them an sold these toxic assets as derivatives. This was caused by lack of regulation and blind greed.

There are a lot of angry Americans. Some people, like this angry man don’t want to wait for elections. No matter your beliefs about this guy, we are not a Banana Republic! To use this person as an example of any kind of political belief is wrong. Read bro-bob@blogspot.com.

I, as a conservative, would rather have extended unemployment for Americans in need, than offer Amnesty at Americas time of need.

It is in this environment, that Congress decided to respond to pressure from Latino groups to pass an Amnesty bill, without securing the borders. (I still don’t understand why a closed border is such a problem along with voter IDs.) The smell of bad fish is coming out of Washington and wafting across America and we all smell it.

Americans are mad at the Administration and Congress, not at the Mexican people or unemployed or any voting group. Our government’s overreach, lies, sneaky programs stupidity and illegal acts, departments officials who seem immune to prosecution by Congress AND for ignoring our laws, when it suits them. That’s where America’s anger is.

If you can’t get a job and have no money, its a tough row to hoe. But violence against anyone except in self-defense is crazy and criminal for progressive or conservative thought.

Too bad Thompson did not succeed. Boehner had it coming for his genocidal conspiracy against the working class. JUST KIDDING. If politicians were dictators for life this tactic would be necessary. However, since we live in a democracy with periodic elections– changes of power occur as a result of elections. However, the gross mismanagement of the economy, and Boehner’s failure to allow a vote on the senate bill to extend unemployment benefits has created an unstable situation. Hopefully, cooler and less ideologically driven representatives will be elected in the next election cycle. America has much work that must be done in order to maintain our economic and moral standing.

Boehner is just trying to stop the Democrat’s playbook…

    There are eight levels of
control that must be obtained before you are
able to create a social state. The first is the
    most important.

    1) Healthcare– Control healthcare and
    you control the people

    2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty
level as high as possible, poor people are
easier to control and will not fight back if you
are providing everything for them to live.

    3) Debt – Increase the debt to an
unsustainable level. That way you are able to
increase taxes, and this will produce more
    poverty.

    4) Gun Control– Remove the ability to
defend themselves from the Government. That way
you are able to create a police state.

    5) Welfare – Take control of every
aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and
    Income)

    6) Education – Take control of what
people read and listen to – take control of what
    children learn in school.

    7) Religion – Remove the belief in
the God from the Government and schools

    8) Class Warfare – Divide the people
into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause
more discontent and it will be easier to take
(Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Does any of this sound like what is
happening to the United States ?

    Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir
Lenin’s original scheme for world conquest by
communism, under Russian rule. Stalin described
    his converts as “Useful Idiots.”

    The Useful Idiots have destroyed
every nation in which they have seized power and
control. It is presently happening at an
    alarming rate in the U.S.

    “It is
difficult to free fools from the chains they

While I don’t approve of anyone making threats to others, it’s easy to understand this man’s pain and frustration over Boehner and the system. I just about everyone waiting on this extension, has had similar in thoughts – thoughts that we’d never actually act on.

Do you want to know why jobs went overseas.. two reasons, corporate taxes and unions. America has the highest corporate taxes in the world and unions kept the wages too high squeezing businesses from both ends. I know some of you don’t believe this and I don’t care. So now many are setting unemployed and instead of increasing the tax base with more jobs and people working, the tax base has decreased with those left paying taxes having to pay more to feed those that don’t work. Many are now living of the table scraps of the economy instead of having more opportunities to improve their lives by working their way up. oh well this is what America has voted for so now you got it, enjoy.

Boehner couldn’t care less about the poor and unemployed, he is a no good SOB who only cares about himself and his elite friends. Boehner is a joke and the fact that he was just re-nominated by the Id iots in his district is all the proof you need these people don’t have two properly functioning brain cells to rub together, yeah, they live in a rich district but money doesn’t prove your intelligent, just look at Bloomberg and Warren Buffet and Don Sterling, three of the most ignor ant people to ever walk the planet.

TARP was created by Bush not Obama got stuck with it but it was Obama that stopped the recession from turning into a depression. Some criminal banking scams have been fined but none of the criminals have faced criminal punishment for what they illegally did. Spending on job creation is the only way to get out of the mess we are in. Republican politicians are still trying to push the trickle down Reagan scam on us and the unemployed that are being forced into the streets along with our vets are wondering when the trickle down jobs are going to start trickling down.

I lived in several WPA camps and worked at anything available to survive until WWII and when I joined the military I felt like a rich CEO even with the low pay of those days. I stayed in the military to get my retirement and VA benefits and also fought in the Korean war. Republicans have been trying to destroy the new deal since it created the middle class.

Court: Man’s Web Postings About Obama Assassination Are Free Speech

Two weeks before Hussein was elected president of the United States, a California man posted racial epithets on a Yahoo! message board and comments that Hussein would find himself with a “50 cal in the head soon.”

Walter Bagdasarian actually had a .50 caliber weapon in his house and after waiving his right to a trial by jury, and he was found guilty by a federal judge of threatening to kill or do bodily harm to a major presidential candidate.

Yesterday, however, in a 2-1 vote, a panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit overturned that conviction saying Bagdasarian’s speech was protected by the First Amendment.

        The Los Angeles Times reports:

A divided panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned that conviction Tuesday, saying Bagdasarian’s comments were “particularly repugnant” because they endorsed violence but that a reasonable person wouldn’t have taken them as a genuine threat.

The observation that Hussein “will have a 50 cal in the head soon” and a call to “shoot the [racist slur]” weren’t violations of the law under which Bagdasarian was convicted because the statute doesn’t criminalize “predictions or exhortations to others to injure or kill the president,” said the majority opinion written by Judge Stephen Reinhardt.

In the majority opinion, Reinhardt wrote that “when our law punishes words, we must examine the surrounding circumstances to discern the significance of those words’ utterance, but must not distort or embellish their plain meaning so that the law may reach them.”

The statute doesn’t criminalize “predictions or exhortations to others to injure or kill the president, politicians or people in general.”

Support muggers, tell Boehner and the Government that demanding money and threatening lives if you don’t get more cash is a good thing.

Nothing good has occurred in 6 years and it has been mostly, bad. Many are at their wits end out of money and luck meaning a job. More business is closing than starting just reported so the trend is the swirl just before the toilet bowl empties. This government treats their veterans like they treat the tax payers. What part of “you all suck” don’t you understand? Most just have a inability to express themselves without violence or threats and are under pressure. All the choices for the last 6 years have been lame and wrong. Our temperature is over 102* with this administration of failure. If a few hundred lose it due to pressure hey! You built this.

It’s wrong for threatening. What do you think on the rational of that guy who made such threat when there’s a lot of options to be heard of regarding the unemployed predicament but of course being taken for granted by republicans in Congress. First think of the guy’s point of view. The guy probably think that Boehner can make all the difference. All he should do is open up the discussion on Congress about the federal extended unemployment benefits and dissect the irrationality of it being taken for granted or what could be done just to alleviate the hardship of their inaction but not totally shut it down. He might be thinking that Boehner is so vicious by his total inaction. Even employed people have a hard time meeting ends meet how much more if you are unemployed and with kids to feed. Does Boehner think about it or even his wife about the flight of the distressed families. Do you think his family is that cold-hearted and not open up any idea every time they eat a fine dinner. We know that Republicans are more fortunate since all of them are rich and they can care less. But come on, being on a roster of one of the expired recipients of unemployment benefits is a bona fide argument that you used to work before and has contributed to the system that used to pay for those representatives way of life, glory and power. He might be thinking why Boehner is playing god or otherwise. How much stress that their inaction is causing on those unemployed families. If stress can make a person sick and can be lead to hypertension, heart attacks that can lead to misery and death in the family, we can assume that Boehner attributed to it. If those unemployed get sick do you know how much a money the government will spend on one case, it could be millions, and that millions for just one case can feed hundred of unemployed already. I hope the unemployed can file a case against him thru a civil case since he is making it personal as to hurt you, the unemployed and your families. He is doing a mockery of out of your misery. But sad, sad to think that guy will be imprisoned which should not be the case. Which should not happen on the first place. Boehner should be sued as well as an accomplish that lead to that situation. Anyway the guy will get his free meal and free medical courtesy of the honorable people of Congress.

THE REPUBLICAN SENATE NEEDS TO PASS THE LONG AWAITED UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION BILL, FOR THE 2.6 MILLION OF FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN WITHOUT BENEFITS SINCE LAST DECEMBER. SINCE LAST DECEMBER, MILLIONS OF FAMILIES HAVE FACED FINANCIAL RUIN, HAVE FACED EVICTION, HOME FORECLOSURES, PERSONAL BANKRUPTCY, AND HOMELESSNESS, WHILE THE REPUBLICANS CONTINUE PLAYING THEIR “PARTY POLITICS” IN THE SENATE. THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE “ELECTED OFFICIALS” TO START REPRESENTING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND NOT THE XL OIL PIPELINE LOBBY INTEREST. THAT IS THE REASON FOR THIS FIVE MONTH DELAY AND BATTLE IN THE SENATE TO PASS THE EXTENSION BILL. THE REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN HOLDING THE EXTENSION BILL AS “HOSTAGE” UNTIL THEIR “SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP” GETS THEIR OIL PIPLINE APPROVED. THE REPUBLICANS HAVE ACTUALLY ASSISTED WITH MAKING THESE UNFORTUNATE FAMILIES SUFFER, IN ORDER TO GET THEIR OWN BILL PASSED BY THE PRESIDENT. AS A “FORMER” REPUBLICAN, I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I WILL NEVER AGAIN VOTE FOR THEIR PARTY

I am still waiting for the jobs we paid for with corporate tax cuts, which BTW happens to cost 15 times more than the welfare we pay to main street. If there were jobs, the subject of unemployment benefits would become moot. Why should American taxpayers subsidize job creation in OTHER COUNTRIES? We bailed out the auto industries and the banks and they moved their operations overseas. GM received more than 50 billion in tax cuts, closed 7 factories anyway and guess what? They are still using the tax cuts for profit on their overseas operations. What more do they want from taxpayers? Earned Income Credit?

Any elected official who manipulates the processes of Congress against the will and directions of the people is guilty of this. How dare one penny be spent abroad when Americans are being plotted against by the very individuals charged with protecting them. 2.7 million Americans are in desperate financial positions because the Government is dicking around. What bothers me the most is that Mr. Boehner is so big on wanting to know how the democrat party can bring jobs to the table, in order for him to pass the unemployment extension. Unless I am wrong here, shouldn’t he be working with the Democrats to help find ways of creating jobs. Why would this be just a one sided thing. It’s obvious that he doesn’t care, or he would be helping the unemployed, plus work with both parties in creating new jobs.

I know the reason for this is because all of his investments are overseas. He knows as well as we do that all of our factories and business have been moved overseas, so there is no way jobs can be created here. So Mr. Boehner you are trying to bully the American people I believe there is a law against that here in the United States. Plus if you hate us Americans that much, I believe there is plenty of room for you to move to China. By the way don’t take the slow boat to China either…..take the fast one. You are not wanted or needed here in the United States anymore. When someone can treat the American people like you have, then it’s time for you to move where the sun doesn’t shine.

Unlike food stamp and welfare recipients, many unemployment compensation recipients (all of which previously held jobs) are Republicans. If the news media shows one person saying: that he had always voted Republican but if the House leadership does not allow a vote on extension of unemployment benefits he will never vote for a Republican again, the Republicans will cave, as 4.3 million voters couldbe a critical in the next election.

The joke used to be that a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged. The new version will be a Democrat is a Republicanwho had his unemployment benefits ended.

“..It is not just a coincidence that tax cuts for the rich have preceded
both the 1929 and 2007 depressions. The Revenue acts of 1926 and 1928 worked
exactly as the Republican Congresses that pushed them through promised. The
dramatic reductions in taxes on the upper income brackets and estates of the
wealthy did indeed result in increased savings and investment. However,
overinvestment (by 1929 there were over 600 automobile manufacturing companies
in the USA) caused the depression that made the rich, and most everyone else,
    ultimately much poorer.

Since 1969 there has been a tremendous shift in the tax burdens away from the
rich and onto the middle class. Corporate income tax receipts, whose incidence
falls entirely on the owners of corporations, were 4% of GDP then and are now
less than 1%. During that same period, payroll tax rates as percent of GDP have
increased dramatically. The overinvestment problem caused by the reduction in
taxes on the wealthy is exacerbated by the increased tax burden on the middle
class. While overinvestment creates more factories, housing and shopping
centers; higher payroll taxes reduces the purchasing power of middle-class
    consumers….”

Legal Defense Fund for Brandon James Thompson, Arrested Unemployment Extension Activist?

Should a Legal Defense Fund be established for Brandon James Thompson after his arrest in News Castle, Indana? He was taken into federal custody after allegedly threatening to kill U.S. House Speaker John Boehner. The 32 year old unemployment extension activist, has no doubt been driven crazy by John Boehner callous taunts, says Country Carl artist of the New Depression Blues. John Boehner has been toying with the unemployed in the media. His statements, the Senate plan is too late and is to difficult to implement “highlights a coxcomb bully”.

Whatever happened in Boehner childhood has embeded a deep bitterness as he is frequently crying on camera. He has an obsession to ridicule anyone he can get the upper hand on. The fact that Boehner won’t even allow a vote on the unemployment extension bill shows his contemp for displaced and the democratic process.

Secretary of Labor Perez said in his letter “Since the December 2013 deadline came and went, almost 2.6 million people, including more than 70,000 in Ohio, have been stripped of unemployment benefits that helped them keep the lights on, rent paid, and family fed,”.

When Boehner demands how is it paid for Country Carl says “look at our old pay check stubs under Federal Withholding Tax, it is not a gift it is called insurance”. In 2014 only the states have paid unemployment insurance, the Federal Government’s contribution because of the GOP House obstruction, is so far nothing, zero, nil.
