Capitol Lounge Crosses the Maison Dixon Food Line

Saturday night’s all right for fighting — as well as Nashville “hot chicken,” grilled pimento cheese sandwiches and chicken ‘n waffles at Capitol Lounge.

D.C. Chef Adam Cox is taking over the Cap Lounge kitchen this Saturday night for a pop-up concept dubbed Maison Dixon, a play on the Mason-Dixon Line and the French word for “house” or “home-made.”

From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Cox will ply the Hill haunt with his version of what Nashville folks describe as “come to Jesus” eating:

Cox has been inviting folks to his Capitol Hill home for “C Street Smoke” Sunday suppers for a while now, and feeding such masses gave him the idea for the Maison Dixon pop-up, which he eventually hopes to turn into a brick-and-mortar offering.

In the meantime, check out his vittles Saturday at Cap Lounge (229 Pennsylvania Ave. SE).

Reservations are recommended. To RSVP, email Reservations@MaisonDixonDC.com. You can follow the concept on Twitter @Maison_Dixon and on Facebook at facebook.com/MaisonDixonDC.

Correction: 8:51 p.m.

An earlier version of this story misstated the name of the chef, Adam Cox. Alex Cox, who appeared in the initial post, is an amazing filmmaker (“Repo Man,” “Walker”) but is, alas, not going to be cooking at Capitol Lounge on Saturday.
