It’s true. The end might be near for Mimolette.
As our brother blog Heard on the Hill reported recently, the feds are targeting Mimolette, the otherwordly fantastic French cheese that the Food and Drug Administration doesn’t like because cheese mites chomp away at the rind. Cheesetique Founder Jill Erber is so distressed about it, she’s giving away Mimolette to raise awareness of the loss to our taste buds.
Roll Call After Dark investigated at the Del Ray outpost of Cheesetique. Sad to say, the Mimolette is going fast and its fate is uncertain. As our server said, “How can you not like cheese-eating mites?”
Indeed, FDA. The mites just have sophisticated palettes.
Perhaps a powerful past Cheesetique patron could help? After all, we have spotted House Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., there in the recent past.
