$83.4 Million in New Grants for Teaching Health Centers

The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a batch of new grants and has announced enhanced medical-research funding.

The grant awards, totaling $83.4 million, are directed toward 60 teaching health centers and allows for community-based training for family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, geriatrics, and general dentistry.

Separately, the National Institutes of Health announced funding support for research into the genetic nature of Alzheimer’s disease.
