Conservative Super PAC Spends Against Steve Stockman

A week after a conservative U.S. Representative announced he is running for the U.S. Senate against an incumbent Senator of his own party, a conservative Super PAC is spending thousands of dollars against the challenger.

Texans for a Conservative Majority, a hybrid Super PAC founded by Randy Cubriel, a conservative lawyer/lobbyist in Texas, reported today to the Federal Election Commission that it paid $18,500 on 12/16 to Target Enterprises for production and placement of online advertising as independent expenditures against Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas. Stockman is running against Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas.

Texans for a Conservative Majority received $2 million on March 1st from Bob J. Perry (homebuilder, Perry Homes) before he died in April of this year. The PAC also received $33,333 each from Ed, Lee and Sid Bass, all partners in W. D. Partners of Fort Worth, Texas. John L. Nau, III, CEO of Silver Eagle Distributors in Houston, Texas, gave $125,000 on 6/14.
