Court Revives Case Against Banning Lobbyists From Panels

A federal court has reinstated a lawsuit brought by lobbyists who wanted to serve on a federal advisory panel, but had been blocked by a 2009 ban on lobbyists’ participating.

The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued an opinion, reversing the lower court that dismissed the complaint, and sending the case back to the lower court to decide whether the government’s ban on lobbyists outweighs the constitutional rights of the lobbyists.
