Financial Investors Pump Funds Into NRSC and Gomez Campaign

Executives of financial firms and investors have led the way in contributing $688,402 to a joint fundraising committee for the Massachusetts U.S. Senate campaign of Gabriel Gomez and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

The Gabriel Gomez Victory Fund 2013 reported it had raised $688,402 and spent $570,274 from April 11 to June 5, leaving $118,128 cash on hand. All the contributions were from individuals. The committee transferred $66,835 to Gabriel Gomez for Senate, and $494,948 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Major donors included several from Bain Capital LLC: Andrew Balson $37,600; Paul Edgerley $37,600; Sandra Edgerley (homemaker) $37,600; Steve Zide $32,400; and Janet Zide (homemaker) $32,400.

Others major donors include: Phillip Gross (Adage Capital Management) $42,800; Robert Reynolds (CEO, Putnam) $37,600; Warren C. Smith Jr. (Staley Capital) $37,600; David Mussafer (Advent International) $37,600; Marion Mussafer (homemaker) $37,600; Alan Scott McKim (CEO, Clean Harbors) $25,000; Wing De LaTorre (director of New Ventures, Biogen Idec) $25,000; Ofer Nemirovsky (Harborvest) $25,000; Robert Wadsworth (Harborvest Partners LLC) $35,000; Herbert S. Wagner III (Finepoint Capital) $25,000; and August A. Busch III (retired, Mo.) $5,200; among others.
