The House Committee on Ethics has approved a waiver of the financial reporting requirements for any reportable gifts that Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., received from his partner, Mr. Randy Gene Florke.
Freshman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney is an openly gay member of Congress. He and his partner have been together since 1992 and have three children. Florke is an author, real estate broker and designer/builder/renovator. He stars in an A&E series My Flipp’n Brother and the owner of the company The Rural Connection.
In other actions, the House Ethics Committee approved a gift disclosure waiver for freshman Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III, D-Mass., on the occasion of his Dec. 1, 2012, wedding.
