Northrop Grumman Leads Defense-Related Companies in Increased Lobbying

A defense contractor almost doubled their spending on lobbying the federal government during the fourth quarter, when Congress was trying to find a bipartisan deal to avoid large cuts in the defense budget.
Northrop Grumman Corporation reported spending $7,340,000 in the fourth quarter of 2013, up from the $3,800,00 spent in the third quarter. For all of 2013, Northrop Grumman spent $20,390,000 on lobbying.
Northrop Grumman lobbies in the areas of defense, homeland security, aerospace, taxes, foreign relations, energy, intelligence, budget, and trade.
United Technologies reported spending $3,870,000 – up from the $2,850,000 spent in the third quarter.
Boeing reported spending $3,720,000, down slightly from the $3,790,000 spent in the third quarter.
Lockheed Martin reported spending $3,350,000, down slightly from the $3,460,00 spent int he third quarter.
General Dynamics reported spending $3,265,000, up from the $2,254,157 spent in the third quarter.
Raytheon Company reported spending $2,260,000, up from the $1,720,000 spent in the third quarter.
