Political Contributions of Jeff & Mackenzie Bezos

The new owner of the Washington Post has been a pragmatic contributor to federal candidates, giving mostly to those from his state or those who regulate his company.

Jeff Bezos has given $5,000 each year to his Amazon corporate PAC from 2000 to the present. In earlier years he has given to home-state members of Congress, including Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and then-Sen. Slade Gorton, R-Wash. He has also given to Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Mich., then-Sen. Spencer Abraham, R-Mich., and Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, all of whom served on the either the House or Senate Judiciary committees, which deal with various Internet-related issues.

His spouse, Mackenzie Bezos followed a similar pattern.

We Citizens and taxpayers are being run by moneys donated by Corporations and the ultra wealthy. Laws are passed that hurt the middle class both financially and emotionally. People like Jeff Bezos, in my opinion have little empathy or “Servant Leadership (as in the book “Conscious Capitalism”). They force their will on everyone in America through donations to same thinkers or lemming leaders and party voters. What Bezoz type people do if they had empathy, is to follow the example of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet with their “feed the world” foundation. It’s not the right thing to do to disregard American Citizens wishes and shove their “democrat” cronies down our throats with their lies and mediocrity. The collapse of America is eminent thanks to non thinking voters and the lies our elected liars sell them! America has become a cesspool of lawyers, Presidents and bureaucrats who weave elaborate tales to feed the public for as long as they can get away with it.
Not a shred of truth comes out of Washington now. They lie because they can get away with it, and because they know if they didn’t spin their tales and tell the truth they wouldn’t get elected. American voters are at fault. They are short term thinkers and vote for their own selfish needs. We are leaving a legacy of debt to our children and grandchildren. Apparently, the “new generation” of voters don’t have the same value as immigrants of the 30′s and 40′s, where they wanted to work at finding a better life for their children. I am disappointed.
