The home of a current staff member of Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., and that of his 2012 campaign manager were raided on Friday by the Miami-Dade state attorney’s office serving search warrants for computer equipment and other items.
The investigation centers on improper absentee ballot requests during the 2012 primary elections. The investigators searched the homes of Giancarlo Sopo, Garcia’s director of communications, and John Estes, Rep. Garcia’s 2012 campaign manager.
The Joe Garcia for Congress committee reported paying Estes Consulting LLC $51,700 in 2012 through the first week of 2013. Payments in 2012 started on June 1. Use Political MoneyLine’s Disbursement Search to see the Estes Consulting payments in 2012 and 2012 cycles..
