Secretary of State Kerry Closes PAC
Posted at 10:45 a.m. on July 31, 2013
Secretary of State John Kerry has moved a little further away from his political past and closed down his Senate leadership PAC.
The former Massachusetts Democratic senator reported today he has terminated his leadership PAC, Campaign for Our Country, and donated the leftover funds to several charities.
The PAC gave out $6,941, including $1,736 to the Diplomatic Security Foundation, $1,735 to Diplotots Inc., $1,735 to FSN Emergency Relief Fund and $1,735 to the Senior Living Foundation.
Kerry’s campaign committee, John Kerry for Senate, reported it had $186,638 cash on hand as of June 30. In its most recent report the committee refunded $6,600 to contributors and paid $7,500 to the U.S. Department of the Treasury for “disgorged funds.”
