Senator Responds to Media Buys by Out-of-State Groups

Senator Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) is in a media battle early for a 2014 election, and out-of-state groups are spending big money to impact on the Senator.

The Senate Conservatives Action, a Republican-aligned super PAC, reported yesterday it spent $319,797 for independent expenditures against Pryor. They paid Jamestown Associates $270,810 on 5/29 for a media buy, and paid Jamestown Associates $48,987 on 5/29 for media production.

News reports indicate the Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization formed by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, is spending $350,000 on media buys against Pryor for his vote against the Manchin-Toomey background check proposal.

Sen. Pryor announced he will push back and has started to run his own ads today defending himself and his positions.
