Top Ranking of Organizations Lobbying the Government (Updated)

Twenty-five organizations have reported spending more than $1 million a month lobbying the federal government in 2014.

Here are the top organizations reporting for the first quarter of 2014:

Chamber of Commerce of the U.S. $18,960,000 – up from $16,490,000 in 2013 Q4.
National Assn. of Realtors $7,120,000 – down from $12,620,000.
American Medical Assn. $6,310,000 – up from $4,240,000.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform $6,240,000 – up from $5,810,000.
United Technologies Corp. $5,808,000 – up from $3,870,000.
National Assn. of Broadcasters $5,280,000 – up from $3,800,000.
Dow Chemical Co. $5,100,000 – up from $1,530,000.
Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers (PhRMA) $4,680,000 – up from $4,050,000.
Business Roundtable $4,230,000 – up from $4,150,000.
National Cable & Telecommunications Assn. $4,140,000 – down from $6,660,000.
American Hospital Assn. $4,060,000 – down from $4,560,000.
Google Inc. $3,820,000 – down from $3,980,000.
Boeing Co. $3,760,000 – up from $3,720,000.
AT&T Services Inc. $3,670,000 – up from $3,635,000.
Verizon & Affiliates $3,550,000 – up from $3,460,000.
Northrop Grumman $3,536,960 – down from $7,340,000.
Southern Co. $3,530,000 – down from $4,050,000.
