Two Years of Prison Time for Hillary Clinton Donor

Former Galen Capital chairman William P. Danielczyk was sentenced Friday to serve 28 months in prison after pleading guilty in February 2013 to making $186,600 in illegal conduit campaign contributions to then-Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s September 2006 Senate campaign fundraising event and a March 2007 presidential fundraising event.

Danielczyk and his company’s secretary/treasurer, Eugene Biagi, recruited individuals and employees in September 2006 to act as straw donors and then reimbursed them with checks for “consulting fees.”  View more details in the Department of Justice February 2013 release.

The prosecutor had sought a five-year sentence for Danielczyk, and he indicated grand jury testimony showed Danielczyk had told others he hoped his fundraising would help him get an ambassadorship.

Co-defendant Eugene Biagi was sentenced Friday to probation.
