The Race Democrats Can’t Afford to Lose

It’s rare in politics that anything other than a presidential contest is viewed as a “must win” — but the special election in Florida’s 13th District falls into that category for Democrats.

A loss in the competitive March 11 contest would almost certainly be regarded by dispassionate observers as a sign that President Barack Obama could constitute an albatross around the neck of his party’s nominees in November. And that could make it more difficult for Democratic candidates, campaign committees and interest groups to raise money and energize the grass roots.

Fundamentally, the district, left vacant by the death of longtime Republican Rep. C.W. Bill Young, looks competitive but has a slight Democratic tinge. Barack Obama carried it 52 percent to 48 percent in 2008, but he had a more narrow victory four years later, when he won 50 percent to 49 percent.

(See also: Jolly Wins Special, Florida’s 13th Starts as Lean Republican for Midterm)

But fundamentals are only a small part of the Democratic advantage in the district this year. Campaign-related factors should strongly benefit the Democrats, as well.

Alex Sink is certain to win the Democratic nomination in the Jan. 14 primary. Sink, whose late husband, Bill McBride, was the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for governor in 2002, was elected Florida’s chief financial officer in 2006.

Four years later, she was her party’s gubernatorial nominee. In that toxic political environment for Democrats, Sink lost to multimillionaire GOP businessman Rick Scott by a mere 61,550 votes out of more than 5.3 million cast – a margin of just more than 1 point. In that contest, Scott spent $73 million of his own money (including money from his wife’s revocable trust), according to the Orlando Sentinel. But Sink carried the 13th District by 2 points in that race.

Democrats have rallied behind Sink’s congressional bid so completely that 2012 Democratic nominee Jessica Ehrlich, who wanted to run in the special election, was forced out of the contest.

Republicans, on the other hand, won’t choose their nominee until next week. The GOP primary seems to boil down to David Jolly, a longtime aide to Young who left his staff to become a Washington, D.C., lobbyist in 2007, and state Rep. Kathleen Peters, who is serving her first term in the Florida Legislature.

The Republican primary has not been without rancor (it has even divided members of the late congressman’s family), and the eventual nominee will have to unite his or her party quickly, raise funds for the special election and immediately start to engage Sink.

Money could be a significant problem for the GOP.

In her Dec. 25 online fundraising report, Sink showed total contributions of $1.43 million, with just more than $1 million in the bank. In his late December report, Jolly showed just under $142,000 on hand, while Peters reported less than $18,000 in the bank.

The calendar also favors the former Florida CFO, who is clearly more prepared to launch a top-tier campaign after the polls close next week than her eventual Republican opponent will be. While a mere eight weeks separate the special primary and the special election, the window is even narrower than that, because absentee ballots for domestic voters are tentatively scheduled to be mailed on Feb. 4 and early voting begins March 1, according to the website of the Pinellas County supervisor of elections.

Given all of the advantages that Sink has — the district, her experience and proven electoral success, her money in the bank and her united party — and the problems the GOP nominee will face, shouldn’t the likely Democratic nominee be a clear favorite to win the special election, getting her party one seat closer to the majority in November?

The answer is “yes,” and if this seat had become open in 2006 or 2007, there is little doubt that Democrats would have been solid favorites to win.

But the president’s weak poll numbers nationally and the problems associated with the launch of the health care law could undermine Sink’s obvious advantages, particularly in this Central Florida district, where 22 percent of residents are 65 or older. (Republican strategists believe that voters 65 and older could constitute close to 30 percent of the special-election electorate.)

If swing voters decide to use the special election as an opportunity to register their displeasure with the president or punish Sink because she is a member of Obama’s party, the eventual Republican nominee’s prospects could rise.

And Democrats are worried that the composition of the special-election electorate will make the contest more challenging for their nominee than it would be in a regularly scheduled election.

Still, all things being equal, Sink has enough advantages to produce a narrow but clear victory. So, while a victory would constitute a takeover and give her party’s talking heads an opportunity to demonize the Republicans in Congress once again, it would not be surprising.

On the other hand, since most nonpartisan handicappers and analysts have for years expected this seat to go Democratic when it became open, a Republican victory in March would likely say something about the national political environment and the inclination of district voters to send a message of dissatisfaction about the president. And that possibility should worry the White House.

The National Republican Congressional Committee would love to keep this Florida seat in the special election. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee cannot afford to lose it. Those are two very different perspectives that reflect the relative importance of this election to the two parties.

It is important to note, however, Alex Sink’s one significant personal liability: she’s not from Pinellas County. She reportedly moved into a condo from her home in Thonotosassa, Florida (in northeastern Hillsborough County, well across the bay). I do not believe she ever lived in Pinellas County prior to this move.

In Tampa Bay, Pinellas County residents, especially long-term residents, may object to being represented by someone whose ties to Tampa and Hillsborough County are deep and strong, and whose ties to Pinellas County need to be demonstrated. A story in Wednesday’s Tampa Bay Times reinforced these concerns by documenting the proportion of Ms. Sink’s considerable war chest that came from outside the county. http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/elections/alex-sink-reaches-outside-pinellas-for-congressional-campaign-contributions/2160055

This doesn’t mean that Ms. Sink shouldn’t be considered the front-runner in the special election. It just means that the local dimension of this race must not be ignored. It may not be a referendum on Democrats, Obamacare, or anything on the national radar. It may be a referendum on the sense of comity between two counties.

    • sara2101

Alex Sink is a carpetbagger, like Killary and Slick Willie shopping around for any senate or congressional seats that are vacant. I live here in Pinellas County and will do everything I can to make sure she is defeated.

      • tess

well doc, it worked ! let’s hope the same trend holds for 2014 and 2016 !!!! congratulations!

    • SeahorseKB

Nope, I voted for Jolly for three reasons. 1) He worked for the great conservative Bill Young, who was our representative for over 40 years in District 13 until right before he died of cancer, and Bill Young’s family supported him. 2) Jolly was strongly supported by the NRA. 3)OBAMACARE (not necessarily in that order)

  • moderate Guy

Sink supports the nightmarish ObamaCare; that’s all voters need to know in this one.

    • healthcareattorney

As it turns out Moderate Guy, you were 100% correct!

      • TripleA60

        Remember…
        Barack Obama, 06/15/2009″
So let me begin by saying this to you and to the American people: I know that there are millions of Americans who are content with their health care coverage — they like their plan and, most importantly, they value their relationship with their doctor. They trust you.
And that means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. … If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. … No one will take it away, no matter what.

        Obama
        • Town hall in Raleigh, N.C., July 29, 2009: “I have been as clear as I can be. Under the reform I’ve proposed, if you like your doctor, you keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you keep your health care plan. These folks need to stop scaring everybody. Nobody is talking about you forcing … to change your plans.”
        • Town hall in Green Bay, Wis., June 11, 2009: “No matter how we reform health care, I intend to keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you’ll be able to keep your doctor; if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan.”
        Obama
        • President’s weekly address, June 6, 2009: “If you like the plan you have, you can keep it. If you like the doctor you have, you can keep your doctor, too. The only change you’ll see are falling costs as our reforms take hold.”
        Obama
        • Presidential press conference, June 23, 2009. “If you like your plan and you like your doctor, you won’t have to do a thing. You keep your plan. You keep your doctor.”

I’m no expert on St Pete, but my gut says it should be red. Old white midwestern retirees. They all hate Obama.

    • SammyBaxter

But of course he won the district in both his runs for President, so I guess they don’t hate him that much

      • woodyl1011fl

There are thousands of East coast and Michigan Demoncrat and Rino voters in that district now which is why Obummer carried that district twice. Reading some of the Demoncrats and Rinos comments in local media here the parallel universe they live in is very apparent they have no clue that every time they vote demoncrat they are voting to destroy their own futures in the land of liberty and freedom. They are ALL historically ignorant and they will destroy the future of their children and grandchildren to live in a free nation of liberty and freedom. Perhaps 2014 will be a turning point forward to restore liberty, freedom and limited government but I’m very skeptical that will happen!!

        • SammyBaxter

The Republican won, 49-47% fair and square. Dems need to re-contest it in November.

    • TruthDetector

Yes, but he hates them more, which is why he cut Medicare to fund Obamacare.

    • SeahorseKB

No, there are many of us who are not old white Midwestern retirees. As a matter of fact, New Yorkers have taken over the number one group moving down here. We welcome them as long as they leave the liberal politics of NYC up there. Florida has a vibrant group of young Republican and Independent individuals who are not buying what Obama is selling anymore. By the way, why must patriotic, Constitution loving folks like myself have to hate Obama to vote Republican? I can’t stand the man because of his snarky persona, but I do HATE what he and the Democrats AND RINOS are doing to this great Republic.

    • Stanley J. Walljasper

Whats with the mean-spirited “old white midwestern” comment?

Talk about an embittered freaking racist.

  • valwayne

Let’s hope that the voters of that district are as fed up with the LIES and FRAUD perpetrated by Obama and every democrat in the House and Senate as the rest of the nation. Let’s hope they go to the polls and vote to show Obama and the Democrats that their LIES and FRAUD and INCOMPETENCE will be punished by the voters.

      • SeahorseKB

Uh, our dreams paid off. We elected David Jolly today here in Pinellas County :)

      • krusatyr

“In your dreams” : Even with a libertarian in the race, takin votes, GOP with anti obamasick message won a democrat leanin district.

Conservative dreams are comin true, pigressive dreams are just wet.

        • brockvond

Not to mention Jolly, the Republican candidate few people had ever heard of, against Sink, with huge name recognition from past unsuccessful governor campaign. Between now and November we need to paint all these Dems and RINOs with the un-American legislation they helped create or support.

      • Common_Sense_Post

I have a dream! And it came true today.

Part 2 of my dream revolves around November. The final installment is in 2016. It is a good dream!

      • CSinMiami

        Dreams do come true.

      • Michael White

        You were saying…?

      • tedsteiner@yahoo.com

Not a very astute observation following a story like this.

    • SeahorseKB

We did exactly that today. We sent the carpetbagger Alex sink packing. She probably hasn’t even finished unpacking her home she just purchased here in Pinellas County so just she said she “lived” here. Bye bye Alex :)

      • WorriedinVA

when I heard her comments about needing immigrants to do her yard work and clean her hotel room, I was shocked, just shocked. Come on democrats – wake up!

  • Mike Anderson

It was 2010 when Alex Sink ran for Governor. She finished ahead of Rick Scott by 5,846 in the 10th Congressional District. Redistricting changed the District to be the 13th District now with 5,512 more Republicans than Democrats than it had when Alex Sink ran in 2010. The District has had Republican Congressmen since 1950. This race is a toss-up.

  • Karen

Sink is BankofAmerica executive who made millions off the people of Florida.

    • SeahorseKB

      8 million to be exact

  • Mike Anderson

Since Obamacare will be the big issue in this Florida district, consider that in 2010 that 35% of the Democrats and 35.65% of the Republicans who voted, were 66 years of age or older.

  • moretruth2power

Just the thought that the electorate could vote for a Democrat after all we’ve been through makes me ashamed of my country.

      • JLES

I am with you. I can not understand how Obama still has 42% to 45% approval. It just does not compute.

    • Michael White

      Uh…lemme think……….no.

  • Layla

The Florida race will indeed be very interesting. Unemployment is among the highest in the nation. This administration has beaten this nation to death, especially Florida. Frankly, I don’t think the people in Bill Young’s district want anything to do with the “new” Democrat party, at least I hope not.

  • Bruno’s Beach

  • Gyst53

Let’s hope the Republicans put forth a good candidate deserving all voters support to represent them in an ethical and moral manner.

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness…reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

    - George Washington’s farewell address, 1796

    • woodyl1011fl

Demoncrats hate that speech and they are with great energy attempting to destroy the supporting pillars of a society and nation that embraces liberty and freedom. That Washington and the others founders knew that without them liberty, freedom and limited government cannot survive.

  • BBWeekly

To reiterate what somebody said below, I don’t understand why these articles fail to mention that Alex Sink is not from the District, nor does she know the District well.

    • mwayne09

It would only be news if Jolly wasnt from the district.

      Get with the program./sarc.

  • Robert Courtney

Jolly won, by 1.5% MORE than a free recount!
The Albatross called Obamacare struck early in 2014!!

    • healthcareattorney

Indeed! I smell a wave growing this november and it is all due to OBAMACARE.

Vote out the democrats and the IRS vote for a fair tax.

          • EviLibertarian

Fair tax all the way. We have an estimated 3 trillion dollar underground economy. Most of those people are on food stamps, drug dealers, illegal aliens, or all of the above. It is time the freeloaders started paying their fair share. No more tax returns and no more income taxes. If you want to spend on your money on shoes, rims, cars, and car stereos you pay a federal tax. If you want to save your money and work hard you don’t pay a federal tax.

They have won in 2008 and again in 2012. A relative unknown won and was reelected despite a bad economy and questions about his leadership. They passed ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank and a host of regulations covering many aspects of our lives. They have changed the filibuster and now appoint judges of their own ideology. Dim-wit????? Hardly. Unless Republicans, the Tea Party get their act together, they will be out in the cold in 2016. Many thought 2010 would be a precursor of Obama’s defeat. The “Dim-wits” stayed in power.

          • John D

If you think they will win this time, you’re the dim-wit.

wrong…first time out you might have an argument, but obama was re-elected because republicans thought they had their base vote locked up so they ignored them and then the base just sat home and ignored the republicans

Agreed they ignored their base. Problem is the Rep. elites will do it again because of self interest versus serving/helping the country.

          • rick

They lost the House in 2010, the filibuster law change works both ways…. they fkt themselves. They don’t have a prayer to hold onto the Senate as 7 Dem seats are in predominantly Republican districts and already shown going back to Republicans who only need 6 seats to become the majority, already they elected a new “Republican” mayor in San Diego, (WOW!), Sink is sunk in Fla., Brannon is WHOOPING Hagan here in NC……..this is only the beginning.

          • iamstopper

Imagine the whining and bitching when the GOP start using the new filibuster and reconciliation rules the Dems have now declared acceptable. I just cannot wait.

They have already said they will restore the rules back. And if they follow the Trent Lott mode, they may even share committee power. The only way to save America is to get rid of liberal Dems AND lib Republicans.

          • pbtruth

Forget it the Democrats will talk the idiot Repubs to go back to the way it was and promise never to do that again, and the repubs will once again fall for it to get good press out of the left wing lapdog media. So don’t kid yourself. One way or another the rules will be changed. You know they will never let a repub President write laws from the white house, saying they are just ex orders do you?

No actually they didn’t. Do you not recall that the pelosi
lead house went under control of the conservatives in 2010? They held onto the senate, true, but they lost half of their power at that point. THAT is the only thing that kept this evil potus and evil democrats from running even more rampage over our lives and economy. It is true that they won the white house, but not a whole lot else. So your 2012 reference is not altogether true.

Well guess what, my people, White people, are catching on very quickly to the following two things:

1 – Multiculturalism is a code for White geNOcide.

Obama is a horrible POLITICIAN, but not a horrible man. Let’s not get hyperbolic – that’s the Donkeys specialty.

        • Joe_D

Obama is a horrible man. His lies have been well documented. As Bill Clinton has said Obama likes to play the race card. The great uniter has turned out to be the great divider. When protestors in Iran were looking for a little support for their democracy movement Obama remained silent, but when Al Qaeda backed rebels took over Libya and Egypt they got Obama’s full support.
When our ambassador was in the middle of being murdered Obama disappeared. Obama preaches that we must be our brother’s keeper. Millionaire Obama’s half-brother lives in a hut on pennies and his illegal alien aunt lives off of welfare. Obama condemns the so-called republican war on women, but it is well documented that the pay for women in the White House is lower that what he pay the males in his employ.
In my opinion our hypocritical commander in chief IS a horrible person.

          • Karen Walker

You are spot on! Obama is not only a horrible person but he surrounds himself with horrible people, only wanting to further their horrible agenda. We the People must take a stand against this horrible administration and vote Tea Party conservatives in 2014 and 2016!

          • Joe_D

The key word is conservatives. Getting rid of big government progressive RINO republicans like Mitch McConnell is just as important as getting rid of democrats. It was only a few days ago that McConnell vowed to crush conservatives.

          • Phats Domino

you do not help your cause

            you give ammunition to leftists
shut your mouth for the next 3 years or you will have aided in Hillary’s election

        • Thinker

I understand your admirable civility but the truth is that Obama is a horrible man. A horrible politician would denote that he is bad at his job. BO is bad at his job AND a politician who acts horribly. You can not separate the two with this president. A dishonest man is a dishonest man, period!

          • Octoslash

You say he’s bad at his job?
He’s successfully broken this country into warring political factions, brought the economy to its knees, installed the decades-old socialist dream of controlling your heathcare, weakened the military, lost dozens of overseas allies, made the US dollar almost worthless, and increased the national debt more than every president before him COMBINED….all by design.
            That’s not a horrible politician. That’s a successful Marxist.

          • joinamerica

Obama is a shrewd and cunning, ruthless politician. Those words were written by those who knew him in Chicago, when Obama first appeared on the national scene. They were 100% accurate. I would only add, that Mr. Obama has ice water running in his veins. Indeed, he is a horrible man.

          • Greg Barton

All one has to do is see how Barry treats women…..

          • quiteright

            Or just stupid.

          • Thinker

            Well, you have me there!

          • John D

But that wasn’t his job. The job he was elected to was to lead the country and restore the economy as well as civility. These were things he ran on. So no, he is terrible at his job.

          • EviLibertarian

If you don’t stoop to the level of leftists in politics they will run you over and they have been doing just that for the past 30 years. It is time to get nasty and get even.

          • joinamerica

Ok, but we have to do it intelligently. For example, not having multiple Republican debates where our candidates are forced into a circular firing squad with questions being posed by clearly biased and hostile members of the media. And with the same media tearing (what’s left of the carcasses of) our candidates to pieces the following morning on their websites and newspapers, (& thereby supplying effective footage for the Dems’ commercials during the actual election cycle). We know this same bunch from the media only pitch softballs to the Dem candidate, so why in the hell are we letting these jackals anywhere near our candidates or later during the actual presidential debates, at all? What are the leaders of the R Party thinking? They cannot be that stupid.

        • Pat

Øbaaama is a POS.. YES HE IS A HORRIBLE MAN….he has no soul…and he is WICKED…..remove this blot on our nation.

        • Octoslash

He’s horrible because he’s a god damned communist.

        • paulinpittsburgh

No you’re wrong, Barack Obama is a horrible, evil man. Anyone who still believes he didn’t intend from the outset to cause harm to the US and its citizens to further a radical agenda is simply in denial.

It is abundantly clear now with his almost daily actions that he views himself as essentially a dictator who is above the law and daring the cowards in Congress to try and stop his lawlessness. Alan Keyes warned everyone in 2008 when he said “Obama is a radical communist, and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it’s true. He is going to destroy the country, and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist.”

Anyone who doesn’t see Keyes was on the mark simply chooses not to.

          • krusatyr

Agree and obama is a sociopath, cannot empathize with others, has never had a conscience, so deceives with impunity and much of his successful destruction is owing to his and the media’s race-guilting Congress, the Supreme Court and the People into shutting up and losing their birthright to freedom.

        • Kyle

He is a lot worse than horrible. He has no character or morals.

        • nomercy55

its the other way around..your kidding right..!!

          • bigterguy

I don’t see him cheating on his wife or beating his kids or kicking his dog. Sure he is a liar, but aren’t most politicians liars? His philosophy is deplorable. I think he is grossly ignorant, not diabolical. He seems to be stumbling from the bad advice of one adviser to the bad policy of another congresscritter (Pelosi, Reid). He isn’t leading the Donkeys, he is following.

          • nononsense57

When he was in the Illinois legislature, he defended his position that it’s ok to allow abortion surviving infants to be denied medical care and die. If that doesn’t make him a horrible person, then I don’t know what does.

As originally proposed, the 2003 state bill, SB 1082,
sought to define the term “born-alive infant” as any infant, even one born as the result of an unsuccessful abortion, that shows vital signs separate from its mother. The bill would have established that infants thus defined were humans with legal rights. It never made it to the
floor; it was voted down by the Health and Human Services Committee, which Obama chaired.

Obama didn’t like it because he considered at threat to Roe v Wade,,and that mattered more to him than anything else.

          • joinamerica

I remember this. And whenever the sycophants in most of our press corps present Obama as a man who should be admired and/or respected, it makes me ill. Obama and his admirers have no morals, none whatsoever.

          • John D

You need to stop digging the hole your digging for yourself.

The guy is a serial liar.
How many out and out lies has this guy spread through the republic?
That’s not OK now or ever.

        • Bruiser in Houston

Yes, he IS a horrible man.

        • pajamakat

Obama hates this country. Contrary to what Bill O says, Obama is NOT a patriot. Don’t be so naïve.

          • EviLibertarian

            Bill O is a joke…

          • demodoormatt

Obama is the lowest of the low. As is any pol that votes twice to allow children that survive abortion to be killed afterward. Regardless of your views on choice, that’s low.
And Bill Reilly tells this man at the end of his interview ” I believe your hearts in the right place” ??!!

          • John D

I have seen O’Reilly defend this useless excuse for a president time after time. I’ve had it with O’Reilly. I think he is a closet liberal.

          • Greg Barton

O is just a rock thrower like his counterpart in the WH.

        • Come On Now

I would say that a man who rode the backs of his people to make money as Community Organizer, served a term as a US Senator during which he frequently voted ‘present’, stepped out to gay bath houses when he was married with children, spends hundreds of millions on himself and his family when the country is in financial trouble — well I would say that man is pretty horrible.

        • John D

Are you out of your mind? Obama is pure evil. He is doing the best he can to destroy our country. His tenure has been one scandal after another. Get your head out of your butt.

      • RnW063

I’ll donate my time, but I’ll be damned if I give them any money.

        • joinamerica

Okay….Save your $$ for the gas pump (thanks to Obama’s EPA’s crippling of energy production on federal lands and his blocking the Keystone pipeline), and save it for taxes and the Obamacare mandated fines, and to support your family when you lose your job thanks to Obama’s lousy economic policies. How do you think the R’s can win if they are facing the 300 million dollars in union donations that the Dems have gotten for each of the last election cycles, or the millions the Dems have gotten from illegal foreign contributions and Obama’s billionaire golfing tech pals and the Hollyweirdos? We have to dig deep and support the R’s. And anyone telling you not to do so is either a plant from the DNC or a very shortsighted person.

          • RnW063

Sorry, not convinced. Still not getting my money. They don’t need money to win. Actions speak louder than dollars. I and most folks I know are sick of this a-holes using their political positions to become millionaires. Don’t tell us what the President or Democrats aren’t doing. We already KNOW what they aren’t doing. Also, they need to shut up about abortion and gay marriage, and do their damn jobs.

      • JohnJGalt

100% behind you! We have a chance to clean out the House and Senate of liberal Democrats and RINO Republicans in November and we had better do it while there is still time. Get the vote out and support those running against these liberal knuckleheads! And for Heaven’s sake, do sit out ’16 and put Hilary, Biden or Rahm in the White House or we are finished as a nation.

      • 1peevedbob

We need to make our VOTES really count. By this I mean we need to get rid of the establishment, resident evil that is in congress on both sides of the aisle. Those that are currently in office need to be removed from office at the PRIMARY LEVEL..
With new blood, so to speak, in congress, WE THE PEOPLE will then demand TERM LIMITS, tax reductions, reduction in the size of gubment, enforcement of CURRENT LAWS, and remove ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS from this country……..

      • rennyangel2

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. No more of this bologna of sitting home to ‘send message.’ The message has been two Dem. terms with the worst pres. ever elected.

        • joinamerica

We already know that the Dems are paying people to try and divide us by doing just what we are seeing posted above. No, don’t stay home to “send a message”. And don’t write in Ron Paul to send a message. By all means, get the most conservative person possible onto the ballot, and then vote. There would be no Obamacare if we had done that. There would have been no near one trillion dollar “Stimulus” (aka, vote buying for the Dems) if we’d done that. Don’t fall for the Dems tricks. Vote. Volunteer. Get your friends to vote. (And the Dems have to use tricks, their policies have failed so completely they have no other options).

          • rennyangel2

            YES.

      • Anthony

You are so right and yet so wrong. You would vote to replace a horrible man with another horrible man who just happens to have an R instead of a D after his name. Different letter, same goals

      • Will

You sound like a Democrat. All non Leftists need to do is Vote. Trying to get into a Propaganda war with Leftists is like a Land War in Asia, when you are not from Asia….

        • joinamerica

Nonsense. We need to do absolutely everything we can to beat these thugs. And you sound like a plant from the DNC.

          • Will

Again you sound like a Democrat. Having a Win or Lose mentality when it comes to American Politics makes EVERYONE lose in the End except for the Elite that Dictate who does things (like Obama in 08, winning and gaining Power were more important than the American People). Obama was MUCH Worse for American than Clinton, yet Obama had the better chance on Winning for Leftists.

Do you want to WIN or a Better America. Voting in a Horrible Candidate because they can Win is what the DEMOCRATS DO!!!!

If you want to join the Obamabots go ahead and vote for your own to win. I want Honesty and Integrity and that can ONLY BE PROVEN NOT TALK ABOUT.

Unless you are trying to get the Democrat voters to join you, and that is not a good thing. We need to Elevate America not lower it….

          • Will

I donr mean to sound like I am attacking, I just have a problem with Words over Actions. And doing what the Democrats have done (very well I might add) is not something that Elevates our Current situation, rather, IMO, gives the Leftist EXACTLY what they want. A War of Words in which they Control the Median…..

      • steamboat

Dead on !!! I absolutley hate RINO’s that compromise conservative values and principals. That being said, I’d rather hold my nose around a few RINOs than have Liberals elected and continue to steal away our great country. Please do not stay home. The future and freedom is up to all of us.

        • Constitutionalist

Why hold your nose. Do it right, bend over and spread your cheeks, then cast your vote, because a vote for either wing of the demopublican party is going to get you b__t f____d.

      • Constitutionalist

Yippie, we can gve the elephant wing of the demopublican party more power so they can …. oh yeah … sit and cry about still not having enough to do anything. You dolts that still think they are conservative need to remember them saying that OdumboCare was written into the law in such a way that they probably couldn’t undo it. Your liar elephants are authoritarian socialists just like the donkeys. Two wings – one party. Get it through your heads. Grow a brain. Grow up. And, start voting for something other than the demopublicans.

        • joinamerica

Wow, as annoyed as I am with McConnell, etc., I know that voting for some 3rd party libertarian is a vote for the Dem whomever the Dem might be. And I also know that one of the many underhanded strategies the Dems are planning for the upcoming midterms is to pay people to post on news sites all over the country, posing as R’s and encouraging us to vote 3rd party. Or to stay home to “send a message” to McConnell etc. No thank you.

          • Constitutionalist

Keep deluding yourself that people with a brain are actually trolls of Odumbo (wow). And by all means continue to vote for the lesser of authoritarian socialists, believing that voting for it won’t loose your freedom to it. I will continue to pity the poor ignorant souls that continue to gulp down elephant and donkey urine flavored koolaid and consider themselves better because their urine flavor is slightly less acrid than the other.

FYI, study history. RINOs you say – moderate socialist authoritarianism is the natural state of the elephant wing of the party. The real RINOs are the constitutional conservatives whose noses are too full of elephant feces to smell the urine. Their only adherence to the elephant wing is to claim the name. Your elephant wing machinery hated Ronald Reagan almost as much as the machinery of the donkey wing. Look it up. Reagan was the prototypical RINO. The elephant wing just doesn’t want you to comprehend it.

While you are at it, look up the messages of the tea party before the elephant infiltration and after. They are completely different. Before the elephant wing infiltration, the message was strict constitutional conservatism. Not afterwards.

Both wings of the one party need to die; but, each wings’ drinkers of the urine flavored koolaid are simply too arrogant and ignorant to walk away from it.

Hope you enjoy this NSA observation state that the real republicans gave to the US. Maybe someday the real RINOs will come join the rest of us constitutional conservatives to overthrow the demopublican party.

    • krusatyr

The contest showed the risk of havin a third party siphonin votes from the GOP candidate.

We should invent a third party for stealin democrat votes.

      • Hans

That would be the communist party.

        • rsoski

The DNC IS THE COMMUNIST OARTY IN THE US…

      • Guest

The Greens usually serve that purpose in other countries.

        • rootvg

They do in Canada as well, the Greens and the NDP.

          • krusatyr

As the “Guest” commented above, the Greens are a possible splinter group to draw away as many votes from dems as Libertarians take from GOP.

        • krusatyr

Excellent idea, that could work here: The Climate Party can be a split off splinter nest of radicals who even now are the most pssd off sect within democrat party.

That religion and its climate kahunas are frequently furious our cartoon despot won’t FORCE cap and trade on us and outlaw all fossil fuels…before it’s ‘too late’ to prevent CO2 apocalypse.

Tea spec ops should engineer the split to assure Climate Party is about a 5% draw for single issue greens and at the same time develop practical anti-pollution self regulation standards among business groups, thereby robbing dems of both radical and moderate enviromentalism.

    • spyeatte

This victory tonight is going to reverberate far and wide in Democratic circles. It is starting to look like a slow motion drowning.

          • bobruark

YES the Dems seems they can not win without spoilers, Black Panthers, dead people voting, thug-assists, and, of course, down right lying. I have no friends that are Dems … they can not be trusted…acquaintances yes, friends? Never I have higher standards than that

          • WorriedinVA

…and Sarvis was funded by Obama’s people. Now he’s running in the senate race (to try and help warner).

          • joinamerica

And don’t forget, trillions of tax dollars used, not to help anyone, but to buy massive blocks of votes. If it were helping people it would be different. But the tragedy of most of our inner cities shows the complete failure of government as parent.

          • brockvond

It would be interesting to find out how long these so-called libertarians have actually been active in the Libertarian Party. Or is the term “libertarian” so generic that even the Libertarian Party would hesitate to deny the label to anybody who wants to use it?

          • John D

Not so. The libertarians will call out a phony in a heart beat.

        • WorriedinVA

Look deeper – Sarvis is no libertarian. If you read his platform, he’s a liberal. After the governor’s race, it was determined he was funded by an Obama organization. And now – surprise – he’s entered the senate race. Mark Warner is in trouble here, because he votes like Chuck Schumer, but pretends to be a moderate. The democrats are good, very good. Let’s not be stupid…again.

          • Patricia Edwards

Warner pretends but smart people can see right through that. The trouble is–is there enough smart people? So, WorriedinVA, let’s bombard social media with the information you just posted and let ALL voters know about Sarvis. Can you point me to some good information on Sarvis? I’ll flood FB with this stuff!

          • WorriedinVA

If they won’t print this link, just do a search “Sarvis Obama funded” – there’s plenty still there, but my guess is that it will disappear as we get closer to November.

            http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/11/libertarian-candidate-robert-sarvis-va-governor-race-funded-obama-campaign-bundler/

          • Patricia Edwards

I have read some of the info on Sarvis; thank you for the link.

          • WorriedinVA

Unfortunately, the links go to places like The Blaze, etc. They are true, but you won’t find similar stories on HuffPo or MSNBC….our “news” sources are not news, unfortunately. If they were, we wouldn’t have O and Company!

    • Betsy Ross

The country has gotten a good long look at the Dems and said- THEY’RE CRAZY! and voted for the GOP

      • Pat

They are not crazy…believe me … ugly mean and dangerous ..preying off the people… they are communists!

    • AmazedJim

This is how we do it folks: 1 vote at a time. Please GET OUT AND VOTE! We absolutely MUST get Obama and company out of the Whitehouse, Senate and House.

    • P_Ang

I wonder how much of their vote was falsified THIS time?

    • wesley69

As like all political parties, who are only interested in power and the not the welfare of the people (I include both parties in this), they will spin this into whatever they want. It is up to the people to see through this and vote accordingly, but after 2008 and 2012, one would think this would have been done, but it was not. As of recent, Democrats play to win by whatever means. Republicans don’t seem to have the same fire in their bellies. Winning doesn’t seem that important, maybe because winning brings with it the idea that now one must produce.

    • Jdove47

      Yeah buddy!

    • mwayne09

      or
      that the voters were racists.

      • SeahorseKB

We can’t be racists since David and Alex are both white, BUT, I guess now they will say it was because of the Republican’s War Against Women. I am a woman, hear me roar, I voted for David Jolly today!

    • SeahorseKB

This is hilarious! I just flicked over to MSNBC to see what they were saying about the JOLLY/SINK race and Rachel Madcow is running her 25th story on bridgegate and Chris Christie. OMG

  • PLauren

Sink just lost in Florida. Let this be just the beginning to November. And start again on the correct track laid down by own Constitution.

This isn’t even a purple district district. It is blue. The only reason the GOP held the seat was long-time Congressman Young was so entrenched. Once it opened it should have went Democrat no question about it. This is a very bad omen for Democrats. It isn’t going to get better over the next few cycles as the average semi-detached from politics Americans start to understand that the Democrats INTENDED Obmacare to water-down and make more expensive healthcare for the middle class so as to GIVE like/kind insurance to the entitlement class (as opposed to just trying to improve services to the poor and working poor, which everyone would have supported). PERIOD.

    • DrChambers

And it became a deep blue in 2012 when Pinellas County became THE 13th District. Woe to the leftists.

      • LibertyAgain

Woe to them? No, I would say burn them, but they would take that literally and not figuratively so I won’t say that.

    • Keldon McFarland

The liberal meadia wants us to think it’s Blue. The Cook PVI has it at R1+

  • Brad

Must be racism….how else could the libs lose?

    • LibertyAgain

well, they couldn’t perpetrate enough election fraud or underestimated the amount they would need.

      • Brad

Not enough dead voters, most likely.

  • Tony Konte

    Down with Marxism

  • Leeza Lee

Oh, darn. Anybody seen Obama’s albatross?????

    • LibertyAgain

it is hanging around a lot of Democrats Politicians’ necks. They must of cut it up and made little ju-ju beads out of it.

  • DrChambers

If it’s a losing proposition you can be guaranteed the democraps will spend money on it (especially if it isn’t theirs).

    • LibertyAgain

      true. sad, but true.

  • Wartface

Looks like the Demoquack’s signature legislation and Obama’s legacy are going down the Sink!

    • LibertyAgain

      Bill Clinton waxes nostalgic.

Just want to say, I REMEMBER, I am giddy about what’s going to happen in November… AND I VOTE.

  • Frank N Short

    SUCK IT

  • redheart

Dems will make all kinds of excuses but you know they are panicked.

  • ron

Wow a district that was trending democrat, a big name recognition advantage and outspending his opponent 6 to 1 and still got beat…

    • Keldon McFarland

It really wasn’t trending Democrat. The Cook PVI has it at R1+. It’s a split district, perhaps even schizophrenic. They voted Obama while simultaneously voting for the relatively conservative Rep Young. who was running anti-Obama.
I thought it was more likely it would go to Jolly after the Washington Post had an editorial saying that the winner wouldn’t be a sign of things to come in the 2014 midterms.

      • diamondplayer

Nice try at spin Keldon the district trended and went for Sink when she ran for Gov.

        • Keldon McFarland

That doesn’t mean FL-13 is “trending Democrat”. It’s a split district. And it went for Jolly because of Obamacare. That’s why FL-13 matters. Obamacare and Obama, now that they’re in affect, is toxic and Americans have had enough of Obama and his horrific damage in destroying our Liberty, personal Freedom and our lives.

  • tess

i LOVE it when the democraps have to eat their own words or $&!!

  • Jim Defoe

Bad news for the worst President ever.

    • LibertyAgain

I doubt he really cares. He is probably drunk or stoned and doesn’t even know that the election happened. He is pathetic.

    • Keldon McFarland

Obama is not a “president”, he’s the National Community Organizer and Usurper-in-Chief

      • Bob White

Hopefully Ben Carson will be the first black president. Our current Entertainer in Chief is a Prezzz but not a president.

        • LibertyAgain

Carson is good, but I prefer Ted Cruz.

          • SeahorseKB

Ted Cruz Pres, Mike Lee VP, Rand Paul Sec of State, Allen West Sec of Defense, Trey Gowdy Attorney Gen

        • Keldon McFarland

Or the Surgeon General or Sec of HHS

        • Keldon McFarland

He’d be a good Surgeon General or Sectary of Health & Human Services too.

          • Bob White

Yes, Good people are needed in those positions also.

  • Last American Standing

I come from a proud blue collar family.
My father drove a truck for a living.
    No silver spoon here.
Democrats got weird on me the last 30 years.
I can no longer identify myself as a Democrat.
    RINO’s are unfamiliar too.
I feel like an American w/o a country.
    No politician hear’s my voice.
I know I have to choose amongst the field.
    I choose GOP.
    Are they perfect? No.
    But I can improve them.
The Dems? There is no cure?

Am I the only one here?

    What happen to my country?
This is a very dark period in my country.

    • LibertyAgain

clowns like Michael Moore happened to it.

    • Bob White

We feel your pain. You are not alone. There is hope for the GOP. None for socialist welfare Democrats. A country cannot run with all takers.

    • Twoiron

Life in America under the Black American Caesar really sucks, doesn’t it?

    • Angie Nathan

2 years ago I had doubts too, but when the public is not bullied by the Democratic hate groups from speaking their mind there is hope. It seems as though the country has just about had a gut full of those radicalized leftists.
I knew that one more term of Obama could have a silver lining. No Democrat should get elected as president for a long time.

      • Wartface

Here is the scary fact… What if he was as evil as some say he is.

What if all of this out of control spending by both Bush and Obama and their respective Congress’ was intentional? Nobody in their right mind would spend 13 trillion dollars more than the treasury took in, in just 13 years, right?

What if we did go over the fiscal cliff? Say the US Dollar crashed? What if the world economy crashed because we are tied into the same central banking system, we all go down. What if the stock market crashed? There is many ways that a real financial crisis could happen and the CBO said last week we are nearing a financial crisis if something is not done to rein in this spending.
Any of those events would create massive civil unrest.

Executive order 11051 says if there is an economic or financial crisis the President can declare a national emergency and enact ALL outstanding executive orders. At that point with a stroke of that Pen he talks about having he could put the entire country under Martial Law. Under martial law the constitution is suspended and we will be under military law. FEMA will take over just like they did during Katrina. They would more than likely take everyone’s guns like they did in Katrina.

Then Obama would be our Dictator in Cheif…

    • Wartface

The problem is We the People thought the oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC was just meant for politician’s and government employee’s. When I think our founding Father’s intended it for ALL Americans.

We the People have failed our duty so badly that our President now has the power to arrest an American citizen, on American soil, send him to jail or kill him, without a trial.

      • Pat

        Some will call it TREASON!

    • lcky9

No your not alone.. and yes it’s been about 30 years the Democrats have been going over the deep end.. I WAS a DEMOCRAT.. born, raised and lived in Chicago.. left the party phyically 9 years ago but mentally 17 years ago.. My parents and grandparents were Democrats.. My mother passed away a few years back and one of our last conservations was when she asked me WHAT HAPPENED to the Democrats they use to be for the working class.. Sorry to say they went from speaking for the working class to repressing the working class.. for representing ALL the citizens to representing the ILLEGAL populace and telling the CITIZENS they should support this NEW found voting block ..From following the CONSTITUTION to telling us that the CONSTITUTION is wrong.. I like you have NO USE for RINO’S .. and there are VERY FEW in D.C. who represent the WORKING CLASS or the CONSTITUTION about 5.. what we need to do is vote MORE of them in office and run the RINO’S(Rino’s are just REPUBLICAN PROGRESSIVES) out and get rid of the PROGRESSIVES who high jacked the DEMOCRATS.. and bring back some of the BLUE DOG DEMOCRATS we use to have till their party threw them under the bus.. There are a some actual Democrats in my family who will keep voting DEMOCRATIC because they THINK they are special and deserve FREE stuff.. even when they have enough they want more.. because they were told they DESERVE it.. and the DEMOCRATS told them they do.. but have no fear … it’s swinging the other way.. see people who were raised right can’t buy into taking more than an hand up and are not happy with only being given a hand out..

      • Pat

This country has been RAPED BY THE DEMOCRATS !

    • SeahorseKB

We in Pinellas County did our part tonight. We must all work hard for all conservatives for every election starting this November. Don’t stop until we take back the White House in 2016. After that, don’t be complacent. Keep the folks in office that do what their constituents sent them to do, or after one term, out with the trash.

  • snotscicle

    Florida has a new Sink-hole.

    • LibertyAgain

I hope a lot of Democrat-communist fall in it.

      • Angie Nathan

It is funny what happens when the Democrats let their guard down when they are drunk on power. The whole country gets to see them and their radical socialist agenda unfold. I was thinking earlier today how they teach you in school how terrible the Warren Commission was but they do not teach you a thing about post war Russia under Stalin. Maybe the evil Warren Commission knew back then what most of us are realizing today.

  • Keldon McFarland

Now that Sink lost, expect to see Democrats say it was neverrea lly a big deal anyway.
Also expect to see the Democrats and liberal meadia to say it has no bearing in the 2014 midterms.

No doubt. I can’t call you a profit, because it is obvious. They read like a bad book.

  • Wartface

It will be fun to watch in November when lots of Demoquack’s get voted out of office and lose their Congressional medical insurance. Hmmm… Maybe they will have some of the bugs worked out of the website by then? When they go online to pick their Demoquackcare policy and type in their SS number the hackers will make their life miserable for months. They will wish they had built in security to their website.

Looking forward to Nov. Already chilling the champagne.

    • LibertyAgain

and storing up the fireworks. I really hope I get to use them this time. :-)

  • Carlos Danger

If swing voters decide to use the special election as an opportunity to register their displeasure with the president or punish Sink because she is a member of Obama’s party, the eventual Republican nominee’s prospects could rise.

Could this have something to do with Obamacare? People may be waking up to the dangers of lost doctors and hospitals, higher premiums and copays for yourselves, lost jobs from layoffs and conversions from full time to part time, etc.

    • Angie Nathan

I think the overall misery index of the country is off the charts. Let the Dems beat their war drums and sound off rally cries for global warming while 30+% of the country is out of work.

  • Bob White

The government TV ads showing the young person so happy with their cheap Obamacare do not mention that they are being introduced to welfare
dependence which will make it less shameful in the future to make it a lifestyle as many Democrats have already done. The ads should say: Hey!!! I’m now on welfare. Thanks to taxpayers for funding 75 percent of my insurance. Ain’t America great or what?

Lets thank Harry the Reaper and Nancy Whatsinit for all their help in losing this FL seat to the Republicans. Harry & Nancy even ran their hand picked 3rd Party Libertarian to take Republican votes like in VA. Every time scary Nancy put her face on the tube she scared the kids. Harry the Hunchback is scaring the old folks. Both of these creeps took $700B away from Medicare to keep the poor poor so they won’t enter the work force. The Democrats want to keep their base on the plantation so they can corral the herd.

  • Bob White

Looks like the Dems better start beating their glo-bull warming and minimum wage increase drums louder to try to drown out the giant sucking sound or Obamacare sucking the money out of taxpayers wallets across the country.

The loss was much bigger for the Dems. Alex Sink had been the state’s Chief Financial Officer and candidate for governor, so her name recognition was through the roof. And still she lost. Obama carried the district — twice. And still she lost. She carried the district herself for governor. And still she lost. The Libertarian drew over 4% from Jolly, not from Sink. And still she lost. I don’t think the message could be any clearer. Obama lost!

So, please tell us she’s now completely out of work.
She had to resign to run, right? Please tell us that.

Unemployed democRats are the best kind of ‘Rats. She can pay her own Odumbassdoesntcare now.

      • bytrharris@hotmail.com

Yeah, she’s been out of office for a while. But get this, she only lost to Rick Scott for governor by 1%. That shows how well-known and supported she is in Florida. Until now. I’m telling you, this is major! Like the article said, the Dems could not afford to lose this race, and yet they did. And decisively. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of pond scum.

        • Jim Wolfson

Well, yay for all that. But if Boehner and McConnell stick around to stink up the place I’m voting Libertarian, because those useless parasites will do NOTHING to fight Odumbass, even with full Congressional control.

          • bytrharris@hotmail.com

When we win the Senate, I’m pretty sure both of them are gone!

          • Jim Wolfson

Only if they’re primaried out. Otherwise, the turds will still sit in their lush offices drinking themselves into a stupor.

The GOPussies don’t get my vote. They have to earn it.

          • bytrharris@hotmail.com

If they stay in office, and I’m sure they will, they need to be replaced as leaders. That’s something that will happen internally. I don’t think a lot of fresh Republican blood in both houses will let these guys keep their positions.

          • Jim Wolfson

There is ZERO chance they’ll be replaced unless dumped in the primaries, simply because they’ll strut around pretending they’re the reason conservatives turned out to vote against Odumbass and the ‘Rats.

Take that to the bank. Unless tossed in the primaries, both houses of Congress will continue the drunken spending binges and kneeling before Odumbass because he’s brown and has a ridiculous Star Wars name. They are cowards, unfettered by principles and enjoying the big taxpayer budgets for the alcohol and fancy digs.

If they’re not primaried out, pray for the ravages of old age and skin cancer for these two – that’s the only thing that will effect a real change, and maybe not even then.

          • MaryRedWhiteBlue

I agree, Boehner and McConnell are an embarrassment and need to go. They just need to step down.

          • Jim Wolfson

Yes, but they won’t. If they’re not tossed out on their @sses in the primaries, you can forget about any real changes.

  • Last American Standing

He, she or it. Who cares. We are tired of Obama and that is the reason.

Yes, but slick Willy would mount her in heartbeat.

    • MaryRedWhiteBlue

If you can wipe that smug look off her face the rest of the US would be eternally grateful.

    • FarmboyDuke

Not gonna happen. Her district is 99.999% old Jewish retirees who formally lived in New York, Boston and Baltimore. She tells them the republicans want to take away their social security, then heard them into death camps. And they take it as gospel.

    Sink has sunk. Boo-hoo, ‘Rats.

Once we get the Senate….there will be Democrats heading to jail for their lawless behavior over the past 7 years…

    • Jim Wolfson

Not if Old Man McConnell and Lightloafers Lindsey are still there.
      Count on it.

  • bytrharris@hotmail.com

What a carpetbagger. I just found out she didn’t even live in the district she ran in until she rented an apartment there for a year. Florida doesn’t require a candidate to live in the district in which they run, but that would have looked really bad if she didn’t. But here’s the clincher: She chose this district because she thought she’d be a shoo-in. Run, Dems, run. You guys are in for one hell of a beating in November.

  • truthrevoltcensorscansuckit

LOL! Thank God we don’t have another ‘Rat in the House, but better still, not another ‘Rat BROAD that will sponsor bills that further erode the rights of men. Of course, both sides do pander to the broads and have no problem eroding mens’ rights to keep their property and not have to deal with broads in their own private clubs and whatnot. And we know Jolly won’t want to start banning words like “bossy” and discouraging boys from being assertive like these liberal broads are, and strangely enough, Jimmie Johnson!

  • Pearlie Cope

I like to imagine how the dems own playbook would turn against them if they loose in november. The investigations would get traction and Obama would learn what a partison vote shoved down the opposite party’s throat felt like from the other side.Talk about lame duck.He would be lucky to get out by resigning instead of having a pair of handcuffs waiting on him.

  • Feemster

Just the tip of the ice berg gentleman. The media may lie….but the numbers will be the thing that demonstrates the truth. November is going to be a blood bath for democrats.

  • MaryRedWhiteBlue

One word . . . Obamacare. If you voted for it, you’re going to be voted out. The democrats will need a irish wake come november. They crammed this thing down our throats and now they will reap what they sowed.

  • MaryRedWhiteBlue

I hope they get enough Republicans in office that they can find out what happened in Benghazi (and why the video filmmaker is still in jail), why the IRS targeted GOP groups (which is something the GOP should do when they have complete power – just kidding), several iffy Holder things, and who’s responsible for Pelosi’s plastic surgery. Throw them all in jail.

I’d be a little cautious of getting too excited about this. Jolly vastly outspent his opponent and still couldn’t pull in even half the vote. A victory is a victory of course, and holding the seat is far better than losing it, but I’d be careful about reading too much into what it means for elections that are still eight months away.

    • LibturdsRscum

You don’t know what you babbling about
Sink outspent him 3 to 1

    • Jim Wolfson

      Ahem. From the AP:
“Sink outspent Jolly by more than 3 to 1 on television advertising,
though outside groups aligned with the GOP helped narrow the overall
      Democratic advantage.”

      • SouthronAmerican

That’s interesting because according to other sites I’d read Jolly (and aligned groups) outspent Sink (and aligned groups) $5m to $4m.

And now still other sites I’m reading say that was just the spending by outside groups with Sink pulling in another $2.7m million to Jolly’s $1.3m. I’m not seeing any other source though with a 3:1 advantage for Sink like the APs.

    • Clouds Below Sea Level

Not only did sink outspend the new congressman but Jolly lost 4+% to the libertarian 3rd candidate.
But you keep telling yourself that OBAMACARE IS A WINNER!!!

There’s only so much they can do given the Senate is controlled by Democrats. So everyone has a regular name but Rick Scott “REPUBLICAN MILLIONAIRE, who spent $73m from HIS WIFE’S REVOCABLE TRUST”. It’s amazing how incredibly one-sided the media is. They have sold their souls to their leftist ideologies. Just tell the truth, and tell it equally for everybody!

  • Joseph McLinden

Obamacare is gonna get worse. This 13th District loss sends an anti-obamacare message loud and clear to the White House, and to Congress. Considering that the liberal left, who subscribes to “It’s not how many votes, but rather who counts the votes”, you can be sure that the thin margin of victory, was attained despite the best efforts of the left to skew the results. Remember, when you are a conservative you must first be honest. If not, we don’t want YOU either. So, if you are a leftist, your battle cry is “It’s all for the cause.” The word “all” meaning anything that you have to do to win;…anything.

      True that.

  • Jimmy Jenkins

The frighting aspect of this race is that with all the problems of this administration including Obama Care 46+% of Floridians in a strong red district still wanted another Obama supporter in congress. The race should have been a runaway for Jolly but wasn’t. Yes there really is 46+% of Americans who still support the weakest commander and chief in American history. Sad! Roll up your sleeves and get to work, this November is not going to be a cakewalk.

Alex Sink was the woman who spoke about immigration last week and wondered if they were not allowed in this country, who would clean our motel rooms and do our landscaping and yard work. She sounds like a horrible person and a racist, to boot.

      Amen brother.
Immigration is a racket, a transfer of money from labor to capital. Want more jobs and higher wages? have an immigration MORATORIUM!

  • Snarflerator

Love how Drudge’s link above this article read: “IT BEGINS: REPUBLICAN WINS FL CONGRESSIONAL SEAT…” as though it would imply that republicans are sweeping the congressional votes. However, a republican was replaced with a republican, so in essence, no change has happened. I see what you did there Drudge. Nice try.

    • 4life4america

ALL DEMOCRATS SUCK !!!! Especially you Snarflertor.

        • jim6073

While 4life may be a bit exhuberant there is no doubt that this race is interesting, especially from the perspective of Sink’s spending, name recognition, support from democrat heavyweights and carrying the district during the last governor’s race.

The democrats pulled the push grandma off the cliff card…wtsp.com reports, “In an attempt to deflect criticism over the law, Sink and Democrats
painted Jolly as a Washington lobbyist who backs efforts to privatize
Social Security and gut Medicare. The attack put Jolly on the defensive
in recent weeks, and some voters cited concern about GOP cuts to
programs for the elderly. More than one in four registered voters in the
          district is older than 65.”

it didn’t work…but hey snarf, there is always the race card.

        • buffmuffin

lol, man with more comments than likes talks about credibility…

      • DelmarJackson

I am a democrat. I say all republicans who don’t want to reduce immigration by making E verify mandatory and ending anchor babies and jailing emplyers of illegals and ending most of the fraudulent worker visa programs, suck. So that pretty much means nearly all Republicans.
Ann Coulter is right. proof that the GOP hates black people is in Marco Rubios senate immigration bill which will TRIPLE legal immigration. It will also doom the GOP forever. Which is not a good thing as we need checks and balances to protect us from nuts in BOTH parties.

SInk had built-in name recognition. She was a recent candidate for Governor. She has carried this district in her run for Governor. She has a tremendous money advantage. Obama carried this district twice.

Which possibly portends a bad November for Democrats. In your mind, if it means “zero” change – predicts that you probably won’t be picking up the house – and the senate could be a 7-12 seat change to Republicans.

Or, try this equation – Snarflerator=Head in Sand

    • jim6073

“However, if Sink loses, Democrats may have a hard time attributing the
outcome to anything other than voter preference since the party
basically cleared the field for her campaign. A loss for Sink could
signal a ripple effect of potentially problematic messaging issues for
Democrats in other competitive midterm elections.” from ABC news.

DEMOCRATS suck! Why would anyone elect a DEMOCRAT to anything is beyond me. They are the meanest, most hateful, underhanded people who will sink to the lowest level in order to win and advance their warped ideology. DEMOCRATS are the bottom feeding, mouth breathers of American society and deserving of nothing, but utter scorn and derision. Look at every city and state run by DEMOCRATS and you will see high crime, broken pension systems, dysfunctional government run by dictatorial fiat. New York, California, Chicago all come to mind.

The problem is, the “Free Stuff” crowd doesn’t change their vote, not matter what. WPB, Broward, and Dade is the reason the state turned blue. The Cubans vote democrat no matter what, even when Rubio is there in the senate trying to represent them. They want to be free, yet they vote for Obama, which is similar to Castro back home, and they want socialism here in the USA. Give me my free stuff. I heard this talk waiting in line at the last election here in Broward. Where has Obama been visiting lately? Miami.

  • John Qunicy

Thank you, Floridians. You might have been electing a representative for the Tampa area…but the truth is, your vote has implications from coast to coast.

The Obama Kremlin must be stopped. Last night’s vote in Florida was a good first step.

I pray that common-sense, patriotic Americans across the land will will defeat the leftist, “progressive” agenda: Obamacare MUST be repealed, the IRS MUST be restrained from abusing our fellow citizens, our national borders MUST be secured against eh growing wave of narco-terrorists from Mexico, our economy MUST be salvaged, Americans MUST go back to work, our international reputation and respect MUST be restored.

The vile filth that IS the liberal wing of the Democrat MUST be defeated…and soundly and soon. The health and future of the Republic depends upon it.

    Once again…thank you Florida!

Obama is a pathological lying demon! Hurray, the FL demonRAT lost.

  • dan690

Republicans not only won but won by enough to overcome the democrat voter fraud.

    • putupjob

The libertarian straw got 5%. Even with splitting the vote, the rats lost.
The rats are going to put up libertarian straw candidates in all the close districts.

      • dan690

Unfortunately that has worked in the past. I am hoping there is enough disgust with Obamacare that it won’t happen anymore.

      • buffmuffin

Republicans need to fund straw socialist / communist candidates to siphon off liberal votes.

    • rightisright5116

Sink had a big lead until just recently. I don’t think the Progressives had a plan in place to “fix” this.

  • kevinfodor

    The albatross has landed.

  • putupjob

Obama is a demigod. He has to campaign in these districts so he can build his majority for the remainder of his second term.
He’s so loved and admired that it is a must for him to appear himself.
Beware of the falling bodies of the fainting women and gushies everywhere.

  • Uno Who

Blessings of Allah upon the democrats

  • WorriedinVA

And so it begins…the lies, the distortions, the character assassination. They took out 2 presidents of the Republican Governors’ Association (McDonnell and Christie – who was leading Hillary in the polls). Their work has just begun! Unfortunately, those who have volunteered to be part of the collective will believe all of it. Then, they’ll be picked up in busses and given free lunch for their votes. They’re trying to destroy Palin, D’sousa, carson….more to come!

  • buttaboom

So much to Debbie Wassermann Schultz’s statement that the
democrats are going to run on the ACA (obamacare) Haw Haw Haw ! Bring it on!

  • rightisright5116

Heard a great admission today that the GOP approval numbers are so low because the President has invested so much time destroying the Republican brand. Maybe people are finally starting to notice.

    • No One Important

Actually – those are “congressional” approval numbers – and it is based on “all members”. .. which are people who think “someone else’s” representative is the problem. . . . That’s a canard that the liberals like to throw out there – never admitting that it isn’t a rating on a person’s own representative. Most incumbents are re elected. . . .there’s a reason.Because people think “my guy might be bad, but their guy is even worse!” and they elect their own incumbent. . . . .

  • sara2101

David Jolly won the 13th Congressional seat here in Pinellas County.
    Horrrrrrrrrray!!!!!
Hit the road Alex Sink, carpetbagger, go back to Hillsborough County and don’t forget to pay your rent of 7 months in my condo building.

  • Conservative Voice

VERY interesting… the Republican (don’t know if he’s a conservative or not), won in a district that went for Barak Obama TWICE, and had a viable Libertarian candidate that got almost 5% of the vote (suggests the Republican vote was split)… and the republican STILL won by 48% to 46%

Promising for 2014… BUT, by NO means a done deal…

    • Conservative Voice

Just a side note… would be better if Republicans fought out the “Conservative Philosophical” question in the Republican primary elections, and not go the 3rd party Libertarian approach… that just seems like it might encourage the Liberal Democrat Nazis to manuver a 3rd party on the ballot in key races, and split the Republican vote…

I’m all for the tea party, and want to see them continue the good fight… but the “Fight” should be within the primaries, and NOT the general election.

      • mwayne09

EXCELLENT point. And I agree. Thanks.

      • No One Important

I’ll bet if you look “behind” the libertarian – you’ll find a democrat. That’s how they won the Virginia Governor’s race.Pushed a fake libertarian, and then spent millions and millions of dollars from outside groups to win – and even then, still barely won.Watch for them to pull this stunt again. . . . Republicans should find a “Ralph Nader” party person and put that person on all the ballots in tight races. . . . In either case – republicans need to stay united – stay frosty – and never let up. . . . . keep on pushing through the November elections. . . .

        • Conservative Voice

Agreed… I’ll bet that tactic will be used in 2014 and beyond. Republicans need to communicate whos behind and who’s funding “Libertarian” and other 3rd party candidates… but also make it clear that THEY WILL SUPPORT WHATEVER REPUBLICAN WINS THE PRIMARY !!

This is HUGELY important, because if they trash Republicans that are not “Establishment Republicans” or ARE “Tea Party” Candidates… they WILL LOSE me FOR ANY RINO they put up…

I’m hearing the Republican Congressional Committee actually trashed Jolley last week in Politico… because, as I understand it. he was: 1) Anti Amnesty, and 2) Wouild not overtly support Behner as speaker…

Too much more of THAT will TRULY TICK me OFF…

    • AL533

  • mesndblues

Wait, I don’t understand….if the republican candidate was winning, why didn’t they just keep the polls open till they went and got more voters? You know, like they did in the presidential elections in Illinois, Ohio, and a few other god forsaken states.

    • rightisright5116

They’re searching desperately for a winning message right now. We’ll hear about potential fraud by tomorrow

      • rightisright5116

Found it. Republican obstructionism is rubbing off on the president making him and his message toxic. Really. They’re gonna try to push this onto the unyielding Tea Party.

        • Dnice

unyielding Tea Party….. Like it, and we are, and both sides hate us…. Tells me we are on the right track

        • AL533

Oh big win won by 4,000 votes, was in a REPUBLICAN DISTRICT FOUND OUT TODAY THE DEM WAS NOT A GREAT PERSON

          • rightisright5116

Hey Lefty, nice of you to rewrite history. It was just yesterday that the Progressives were proclaiming that the Republican was a damaged candidate, a former lobbyist (hold your nose when you say that), and that the Democrat was a strong, hand picked candidate. That equal money was spent, that this district was for Obama, twice, and that a loss for the Dem would be telling and revealing about what the People (with a capital P) think about this administration and the ACA.

However, a day later, after a pretty solid loss, one so large even the Progressives couldn’t “find” enough votes to fix, well, the dog ate your homework.

And don’t forget that another 5% voted for the Libertarian. So I’d give that about 53-54% to the Right and 46-47% to the Progressives.

Overall, that’s a solid smash to the face. And it will take all the King’s horses and all the King’s men to spin this against the “Obstructioniist” Tea Party.

    • AL533

like when the teaparty cheated and kept polls opened later in 2010 no we aren’t that low

  • DelmarJackson

Sink sank with her plea we need more immigrants to mow our lawns and clean hotel rooms. Time to throw out the open border cheap labor lobby anti American worker globalist WEASELS.

      • Ranger_Ric

Stole it? If you thought 2010 was bad for you stinking libs, just wait until November.

We are getting rid of some more RINOs and replacing them with more TEA Party people too so get ready for your head to explode :)

        • AL533

          • Truth Gun

You trust the polls eh? you mean those same polls that had Sink ahead? Yea we’ll see how that turns out for ya.

          • rightside100

They get the Senate they vote to repeal Obamacare period. Dems will either vote with Republicans to repeal or be on the record of having officially voting against the repeal. A political death sentence.

      • AL533

yeah like the teaparty won in 2010 over dead people voting

  • Jack Frost

Ms. Stink will no doubt sue for a “do-over”.

  • No One Important

Be careful extrapolating a special election to a regular mid term. . . Pelosi did that in March of 2010 claiming the nation “loved” them. . .and then they got handed a 70 year beat down. . . .However, what you can extrapolate is how the democrats will try to behave. “Throw granny off the cliff” type ads, ridiculous accusations, etc. . . . .Now, the republican still won, even with a libertarian siphoning votes. . . .but it was close. The democrats tried to pull the same stunt here they did in Virginia. . .run a fake libertarian. . . .Maybe the republicans should find Ralph Naderites to put on ballots . . . . But do not try to make this an exact correlation for a November ballot. It shows there are some very motivated republicans out there. . . .but it also shows that the democrats are going to play dirty. Very, very dirty. Stay on guard, stay frosty, and don’t let up. . .no coasting. . . .this isn’t going to be a cakewalk. . . . .

  • guitarzan60

One word… Obamacare. Tie this stinking, rotting albatross around their necks until it is repealed.

    • AL533

Obama will still be the President even if the right win the Senate. He has veto power

      • Ranger_Ric

And he will get none of his agenda passed, that’s the main thing, he is done, stick a fork in him!

So funny! Your guy spent nearly his entire first two years passing something that lost him the house in 2010 and will lose him the senate in 14.

On top of that, 0bamacare is going away so it was all for nothing! You libs are toast!

        • AL533

And if you win the Senate you will NOT get anything done like your OBSTRUCTIONIST HAVE BEEN WITH OBAMA. And Obama will still be President. And by the way lib, we put our people in there TO be obstructionists against 0bamas Marxist agenda.

You don’t get amnesty for the illegal animals. You don’t get any type of gun control and if you think that 0bamacare is going to stand, you just keep thinking that lib because in the end, you don’t get gov healthcare either!

          • AL533

And we will put our people in there TO be obstructionists against the Republican agenda Nothing will get done for you Republican just like you did for us for 5 years. You won’t have enough votes in the Senate to get anything DONE. KARMA SUCKS

          • Ranger_Ric

Want to talk about KARMA lib scum?

Harry Reid decided to use the Nuclear Option last year remember? It only takes 51% now to pass something in the senate thanks to that.

We did warn you libs that what comes around, goes around. There was a reason that option has always been left alone because once used, it was not going back in the box.

We will see how your democrat minority likes the 51% rule now.

Remember folks a vote for a third party candidate is the same as voting for a scumbag democrat. The 5% in this election who voted for the libertarian are idiots.

    • Bob Wynne

The Republicans must learn that they will not get the votes of Constitutional Patriots by being “the lesser of two evils”. It will probably have to cost them quite a few elections before they realize that they must uphold every breath of their oath once they are elected.
No legislation should even be considered until it passes the “Is it Constitutional?” test. Then the will of their constituents should be their only other consideration. When they can remember that, third parties will become insignificant.

          • rightside100

Really? The Reps get 6 seat and the have 51 votes. They need 67 votes to override. That means of the 47 Dems (down from 60 just 6 years ago (flipping freaking amazing reversal) and 2 independents ( one a socialist who could claim he was repealing it because he wants a single payer system) 16 would need to vote to override. How many will commit political suicide for a lame duck President over a mis managed, overly expensive, hated and despised piece of legislation. If they are that stupid fine, they are now on the record having opposed the repeal and will have to campaign for Obamacare.

There will be no mention how the miserable rollout of an unpopular bill that the President lied about for years caused her to lose.

    • diamondplayer

The RINO establishment beware! Stand for fiscally CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS who want to replace the middle class crushing ObamaCare or lay with the devil, Obama & Co.. What will it be? I think we know.

    • AL533

WOW REPUBLIANS WON A REPUBLICAN SEAT IN FLORIDA WOW HAHAHAHHHAHA WHAT A WIN

  • Harry McMerkin

On all sites, Dems in hibernation. I didn’t realize it was an atheist communist holiday today.

    • AL533

Wow the Republicans kept a REPUBLICAN SEAT IN FLORIDA WHAT A WIN HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

      • diamondplayer

Not even the horn dog former president could save Sink.

      • rightside100

One she should have cruised to an easy win. Obamacare derailed her opportunity, another victim on the alter of progressivism.

        • AL533

It was a Republican district wow a Republican won in his 40′s with his 26 year old girlfriend.

          • Harry McMerkin

a former lobbyist, no less. But then again, an IRS Auditor or Parking Enforcement officer could have taken this.

          • AL533

yeah you Republicans know how to pick them 46 with a 26 year old girlfriend gagagagagaag

          • rightside100

LOL won in a district with larger than normal senior citizen population, they must really hate Obamacare.

          • Harry McMerkin

Yes they really picked a ‘winner.’ I think I’ll just call him ‘REPRESENTATIVE jOLLLY’

          • rightside100

Obama and Sink carried the district before, Obama twice. She outspent him 4 to 1 and won the dead Dem absentee and early vote by a big margin. Without Obamacare she would have walked in.

      • buildthewall

It’s absolutely wonderful to see the pain in post. And if I
may use your own words: HAHAHAHHHAHA

        • Harry McMerkin

yes it is time for him to start his Pee Wee Herman schtick. I know you are, but what am I?

        • AL533

hahahhah you won a Republican seat from a Republican sure would have been WONDERFUL if it would have been a Democrat seat. This win doesn’t change anything

          • buildthewall

You’re right, it doesn’t change a thing for me. Apparently it changes a lot for you libs since you thought you had one in the bag with this district voting TWICE for Obama. Keep on crying; you’re making my day! HAHAHAHHHAHA

          • AL533

We aren’t crying we know you can win the Senate back BUT we also know you need 2/3rds to get a bill passed and after 5 years of REPUBLICAN OBSTRUCTION in blocking bills your bill aren’t going to go anywhere. KARMA SUCKS

          • buildthewall

Funny, when I read your post I keep hearing the Godsmack song “Cryin’ Like a B1tc#” in my head. HAHAHAHHHAHA

      • Artupstairs

You mean the SAME DISTRICT that voted for OBONGO?? Haha. Nice spin.

        • Harry McMerkin

          voted for Obama twice…

          • Artupstairs

            Yeah. OUCH.

          • A-Train

            by a fairly wide margin.

          • AL533

yeah just like the teaparty voted twice in 2010

          • A-Train

yeaaaaaaaah jabroni. that’s exactly why we want voter id laws… can’t roll one’s eyes long enough for a stupid comment like that.

          • AL533

WELL I sure read STUPID SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTT from Republicas EYE ROLL YAWNzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

          • A-Train

poor guy… I destroyed your nonsensical ‘argument’ in one line. my apologies. you mad bro?

          • AL533

If people voted for Obama twice the teaparty voted for the teaparty TWICE

          • A-Train

exactly why we want voter id… so we can vote twice. derzzzzzz.

  • Whatsallthisthen

A “must win” for (d)s. Now since the (r) won, it doesn’t mean so much.

  • Tabludama

The racists won. Any time that the Democrats lose it is due to white racism. Obama needs to put out a new executive order giving all Democrats two votes in every election to address the white racism of Republicans.

    • diamondplayer

Our Chicago politician comes from the community activist vote early and vote often crowd already!

    • Harry McMerkin

This already exists. Just check the number of dead people voting these days.

  • buffmuffin

Republicans really need to learn from this, and run straw candidates of their own.

A straw Socialist or communist candidate woudl siphon off 5-10% of the liberal vote just like libertarian does the conservative vote.

    • rightside100

No offense to libertarians but I did hear most of 30,000 he got to run came from one Dem source.

      • buffmuffin

Yes, they literally paid his filing fee’s and operating expenses to keep him in the race.

They thought they had this one sewn up, with him taking 6% of the vote, that’s why WaPo, politico, and Salon.com published articles staging this as a ‘referendum’ on Obamacare.

Unfortunately, their shill straw candidate only got 4.5 % of the vote and they lost by 2%.

        • diamondplayer

Funding straw ‘Libertarian’ candidates is the only way the Democrats can fix the mess that ObamaCare will bring them in the 2014 elections. They, the straw candidates MUST be exposed regarding their funding through ads and during debates to inform the low information electorate.

  • rightside100

Obama on the golf course in Florida with all heck breaking out in Europe I hear did not help her.

    • mwayne09

How about a school crossing guard at a cuban immigrant school where the parents clean hotel rooms and mow lawns ?

  • Bob Ho

    ha ha

  • THECARETAKER

this is just One election, we need many more

  • Wigglesworth

Jolly also opposed the Senate amnesty bill and said current laws should be enforced. According to the GOP establishment you can’t win an election in a toss up district unless you are in favor of comprehensive immigration reform.

I still have concerns that Jolly will pull a Rubio and support amnesty now that he has been elected.

    • rightside100

Well she was on the record as being for it. He has to run in November and every 2 years so he is easy to replace.

  • Ken Snyder

I’m guessing it’s not a must win now, since they lost, right?

  • mredward

It was important before the Dem lost. Now, Huh, it was just another race, and besides, they were replacing a Republican, and, and,.

  • Max17

    canary in the coal mine

or for you obama zoo animals, gerbil in your happy place

    Remember to vote in November.

If you don’t like the Democrat War on Healthcare, you don’t have to keep the Democrat War on Healthcare. Period.

    • AL533

FHAHAHHA WOW Righties won a Republican seat from a Republican hahahha what has chanced Congress over this NOTHING

      • TheFallofAmerica

        YouHaveShitForBrains

        • AL533

          Your lifeisshit

  • Wigglesworth

Only Boehner, Cantor and Ryan can save Obama’s 2nd term and legacy by passing comprehensive immigration reform.

    • diamondplayer

Immigration reform would have been done by now if Romney/Ryan won in 2012 with Sen. McCain and Rep. Crybaby leading the charge!

      • Wigglesworth

That’s true. Romney promised amnesty in his 1st year.

  • Artupstairs

SINK was SUNK, and now JOLLY is..well, JOLLY!

    • diamondplayer

      It’s a HOLLY JOLLY March.
I know its bad but I needed to get that out of my system, thanks for your tolerance.

      • Artupstairs

Well, when he wins again in November, it WILL be a Holly Jolly Christmas! That can even be his campaign song!

  • acted stupidly

Sink outspent Jolly 3 to 1 and lost. Can’t wait until November.

    • AL533

Me either !!! If you win the Senate can’t wait for the Dems to block every vote you have done to the Dems for 5 years. You will need 2/3rds of the Senate to pass anything and that is unlikely to happen. What goes around comes around KARMA SUCKS

      • chery

Liberals are waking up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, I see.

        • AL533

wow its not like you won a Dem seat you won a seat from a Republican

          • chery

As your second in command numbskull said “Its a big fu__cking deal”.

          • AL533

you mean like the 32 your party and W killed in embassy attacks and said WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE>???

          • chery

I think you are coming unglued.

          • rightside100

Yes, putting Hillary quotes into Bush’s mouth is scary.

      • rightside100

LOL. Most of the House bills had bi-partisan votes, Harry Reid obstructed even the budget bills. The Republicans can’t get away with that nonsense, the media would be howling like mating cats.

  • WBC

And the winner is ….. Real America. Jolly had not run for political office before, had little name recognition, was underfunded, and ran on a platform of enforcing existing immigration laws and against Obamakare. The district is purple tending blue. Both the democraps and the Republican establishment insisted that a genuine conservative could not win. It’s a good day when you can spit on the shoes of Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell at the same time.

  • mwayne09

To the Sink voters , here’s your consolation prize: An obamacare enrollment form.

    • RnW063

  • ra44mr2

    HAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • Dimitry

What people are failing to understand is that BOTH parties are sold out to the same banker interests. The two party system is designed to make it seem like we have a choice and that there is always a “battle” taking place over legislation. It’s all political theater.

Real tea-party libertarians pose a real threat to the establishment hence the all out war against them from both sides. If they gain a major foothold then maybe all is not lost. But Americans are some of the most gullible on the planet and I forsee them falling for the same ol tricks that seem to work every election cycle.

    • Ratt Stone

Let’s add one more perspective to your comment. There are also 47% not paying any taxes. Those Sob’s are not gullible they are thieves, and they vote Democrat.

  • Texasdav

    Beware the Obama albatross!!

    • AL533

WOW a Republican won a Republican seat now that has really made a difference in Congress!!! hahahahhaah

          and you have shitforlife

        • Artupstairs

Now, now children. AL533 is depressed, we shouldn’t rub his nose in it!

      • Texasdav

Again, in a district carried by the Big 0 – twice, despite being outspent 3 to 1. You need some more Obama Koolaid. Hope and Change, Yes We Can…Trayvon was your brother.

        • AL533

so what it was an off year and Obama wasn’t on the ticket. You might win the senate BUT you will receive the same obstruction ways you have shown the Dems for 5 years you will get ZERO passed. you need 2/3rds in the Senate to pass bills you would have to win ALL your elections which is unlikely.

          • TheFallofAmerica

            You wanna Lobotomy stupid?

          • AL533

i DON’T TALK TO LOW LIFE NUTS

          • rightside100

Win the Senate with just 6 seats and all you need is 17 out of the 47 left (was 60 just 6 years ago before the Obamacare political bloodbath) and it is repealed. Obamacare is the greatest gift the Republicans ever got handed them.

          • AL533

Very unlikely you will have 2/3rds in the Senate KEEP DREAMING

          • rightside100

The Dem survivors will be begging to vote for a repeal especially if the Reps are smart enough to offer up a separate bill that keeps a few goodies like the age 26 rule or some preexisting condition allowance. A 2 page bill to repeal a 2,700 page bill and 17,000 regulations.

      • rightside100

Yup sent a message loud and clear, Obamacare is a Democrat political career killer.

      • Ratt Stone

Well, let’s see, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and PMSNBC all had the Democrat at 54% and the Republican at 45%. What happened ?

        • AL533

Well your the party that says the media are CRAZY

  • Buck Wheat

Sink the Stink, she whole hardheartedly supported Obamacare, she never refuted it at all. Obamacare removed over $800 billion dollars from Medicare and Medicare Advantage took a major hit this year because of it. The seniors both seen it and felt it when Medicare Advantage co-pays sky rocketed, plans drop doctors, hospitals and services, a lot of them were force to take sub-standard HMO plans. The Democrats screwed America big time with Obamacare, America is starting to wake up.

  • pillpoppinpuppy

    Gird your loins, libtards

  • robinj369

It should be noted that District 13 covers Florida’s 6th most populated county and the 53rd in the country. However, Pinellas County (inside District 13) has the most population per square mile in the state. There is a strong Democratic base in the area due to the inflow of NorthEast transplants and the loss of this seat should send a shock-wave through the Democratic Party. i suspect the rats, already fleeing the sinking Democrat ship, will attempt to distance themselves from the current administration and spin like you have never seen before. I for one do not believe it’s going to work. The general public is starting to understand the flawed Liberal/Progressive ideology simply does not and will never work.

    • AL533

If the right wins the Senate you will see what you have put Obama though for 5 years of OBSTRUCTION. You will need 2/3rds of the Senate to pass your bills and that happening is not likely. So laugh all you want that a Republican won a Republican seat.

      • chery

        We won you lost period.

        • AL533

Yeah Wow you won a Republican seat from a Republican hahahahhaha sure didn’t change anything

            Cut and paste?

          • rightside100

LOL. She won the district and Obama did so twice. She ran a professional well run campaign and outspent him 4 to 1. He was a nobody with a lousy campaign and nasty primary fight behind that even divided the lat Congressman’s family. She would have walked in except for Obamacare, destroyer of Dem politicians everywhere.

          • AL533

Wow a Republican won a Republican seat on an off year with Obama on the ticket!!!! Look what a change that has make in Congress it would have been terrible for the Dems if this seat had been held by a Dem. it ain’t over until the fat lady sings

          • robinj369

…In what has become a heavy Democratic Party area due to refugees from the Northeastern US escaping their liberal progressive overlords that seek to take away their choices. I strongly suggest you think really hard about the type of country you want to live in before aligning yourself to a political party that is undermining what so many fought and died to create.

      • rightside100

If the Republicans take 6 seats they run the Senate with 51 votes. Of the 67 votes need to override Obama’s veto of the repeal how many of the surviving 47 Dems ( down from 60 just 6 years ago, an amazing freaking reversal) or 2 independents ( one a socialist who has been trashing Obamacare in favor of single payer system, promise him a vote on it and you win even him) for a lame duck President over a hated failed piece of legislation are willing to commit political suicide? You only need 16 to flip and the Republicans must vote on it to but the Dems on record of opposing a repeal. Impossible, not really.

      • Texasdav

Obstructing Obama – that’s what patriots do, along with following the Constitution.

        • AL533

BS like refusing to allow Dems from voting on Judges THAT IS THE RIGHT NOT GIVING THE DEMS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

          • Azsteve53

            HeHasShitForBrains

      • robinj369

Disagreeing with those that would destroy the country from within is about as patriotic as you can get. I think what pains you is that you are supporting the party of coercion, deception, and flawed ideology. Please give one shining example of a Democratic Party run city or state that is highly successful. I can show you lots of Republican ones.

        • AL533

5 YEARS OF OBSTRUCTION FROM THE REPUBLICANS KARMA SUCKS

          • Azsteve53

Democrats took the house and senate in 2006 and completely destroyed anything Bush tried to do, and I suppose that was not obstruction to you, right sport ?

          • rightside100

LOL Well we saw what happened since Obama reversed Bush’s tough stance with the Russian, Putin and his thugs are now checking out new waterfront property in the Crimea.

          • AL533

Wow 900,000 jobs lost a month and handed an almost DESTROYED AMERICA TO OBAMA you delusional RIGHT SPORT

          • chery

After the Democrat congress decided “everyone” should own a home – even with no job. Brilliant concept.

          • rightside100

And called Bush a racist for trying repeatedly to reform the system before the crash. The Dems even mocked in open hearings the men and women who worked in the departments and warned what was coming. The media ignored the story, except for the Bush is racist comments.

          • chery

Yea and now its Bush’s fault.

          • detesface

As usual, you have no answer so you attempt to belittle. What a great argument you make! NOT!

YEAP and so will the Democrats

          • rightside100

The media told him This Is The First Time Ever something like this has happened!!!

    • chery

You’re right. This county is on the beach so there are LOTS of retired Northerners that are Dems there. So this is quite the victory and a repudiation of the Ocommiecare.

      • AL533

HAHAHHA WOW you won a Republican seat from a Republican wowo big news would be if the seat was held by a Dem. It aint over till the fat lady sings

        • Texasdav

          Pelosi isn’t fat.

        • robinj369

55% of Florida’s registered Democrats live in just 7 counties: Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Orange, Duval, and ***Pinellas***. Even Democrats realize that the liberals and progressives that have hijacked the party are nuts and they must go.

          • AL533

BS You might win back the Senate BUT OBAMA will still be the President and you will need 2/3rds of the Senate to pass anything not likely. You will see what you have put the Dems though for 5 years with your party getting NOTHING PASSED

          • robinj369

I strongly suggest you think really hard about the type of country you want to live in before aligning yourself to a political party that is undermining what so many fought and died to create.

          • rightside100

Only need 51 votes now thanks to Harry Reid and since most of the House bills passed with bipartisan support no problem.

          • AL533

you will need 2/3rds to pass a bill. Read up

          • rightside100

Just need 5 to control the Senate (will win a lot more) the shell shocked Dem survivors who have watched a third of their colleagues careers destroyed over Obamacare will be climbing over themselves to vote first to override.

          • BJ444

Why would the Republicans get bipartisan votes when your party has blocks everything Dems have tried to do>>>??? Karma sucks

Progressives in 2012 pointed to Nate Silver and his voting methodology showing Obama would win in 2012 as infallible.

Silver now predicted the Democrats will see a net loss of 13-15 seats in the senate and still be the minority party in the house.

In another few months people will be even more sick of Obamacare.

Funny that the Florida Democrats accused Jolly of gutting Medicare when Obama removed a huge chunk from Medicare to pay for Obamacare.Don’t people bother getting the facts? Glad he won.

The results of the special election in FL-13 will force Democrats to do what they were very good at doing in 2012 for Obama, voting early and often, and getting out 110% of the electorate in some of those very special Congressional districts and states where Democratic incumbents are at severe risk. If they can’t win on the issues the Democrats take it to court – if they can’t win there they suppress the political opposition using the IRS and other Federal agencies and they rig the ballot box like they did in swing states in 2012.

    • robinj369

As someone that lives in District 13, I can tell you that I received 9 Alex Sink calls for every 1 David Jolly call. I received 4 flyers for Alex Sink for every 1 David Jolly flyer. Will Obamacare be repealed or won’t it? Will Congress fund
it or won’t it? Will the web site be fixed or won’t it? Blah, blah, blah. We the people just need to do what we need to do and Congress be damned. Resist. Refuse. Revolt. EXEMPT OURSELVES! We did not comply with Prohibition and we simply should not comply with Obamacare. For religious reasons. For privacy reasons. For the cause of liberty and freedom and in protest of the idea that the federal government (under one party rule, no less), can force private citizens to purchase anything with our own money. Are we citizens or subjects? Mice or (wo)men? Just say NO to socialism and to the corrupt, unionized, far left IRS, the gestapo of America’s political class. After all, the federal government ignores millions of illegals who are breaking U.S. immigration law every day. Our Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. All we have to do is just say no to a scheme we all know is un-American and a violation of our most basic founding fundamentals
of privacy, self reliance, limited government and individual freedom.
How To Opt Out Of Obamacare. Know your options and become savvy self-pay patients. Join a health care sharing ministry. These are voluntary, charitable membership organizations that agree to share medical bills among the membership. They function similar to insurance, and are probably the best alternative to conventional health insurance. There are four of them, at least that I know of. Three are open only to practicing Christians (Samaritan Ministries, Christian Healthcare Ministries, and Christian Care Ministry) while a fourth, Liberty HealthShare, is open to anyone who agrees with their ethical commitment to religious liberty. They operate entirely outside of Obamacare’s regulations, and typically offer benefits for about half the cost of similar health insurance. Members are also exempt from having to pay the tax for being uninsured. From the article by Sean Parnell

How bad has Obamacare made things? Just when we thought candidates from both parties couldn’t get any worse, we are now electing worse candidates just because the other supports Obamacare. To all you Obama supporters out there, consider this: During Obama’s first term, he had complete government control, holding both the House and the Senate. He could have passed “comprehensive” immigration reform, raised the minimum wage (legally), ended “income inequality (whatever that is)”, mandated “clean coal”, or anything else he is now advocating to get your votes. All he gave you was the horror of Obamacare.

Well, pretty much the same could’ve been said of Bush. When GWB came into office the GOP held both Houses and the presidency. On January 20, 2009, they no longer held any of the three.

What the Iraq War was for Bush and the Republicans, Obamacare has become for Obama and the Democrats.

    The United States of Decline

America unravels at an increasingly dizzying pace.

America is unraveling at a stunning speed and to a staggering degree. This decline is breathtaking, and the prognosis is dim.

For starters, Obama now rules by decree. Reportedly for the 27th time, he has changed the rules of Obamacare singlehandedly, with neither congressional approval nor even ceremonial resolutions to limit his actions. Obama needs no such frivolities.

“That’s the good thing about being president,” Obama joked on February 10. “I can do whatever I want.” In an especially bitter irony, Obama uttered these despicable words while guiding French president François Hollande through Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson — a key architect of America’s foundation of limited government.

That very day, Obama decreed that the Obamacare mandate for employers with 50 to 99 workers would be postponed until 2016 (beyond an earlier extension to 2015), well past the November 2014 midterm elections. This eases the pressure on Democrats, whose campaigns would suffer if voters saw their company health plans canceled due to Obamacare’s unnecessary, expensive, mandatory benefits — e.g. maternity coverage for men.

So, by fiat, Obama has postponed the employer mandate. When Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) effectively tried to do this through legislation last fall, Democrats virtually lassoed and branded him.

Also by decree last week, Obama decided unilaterally to soften political-asylum rules. Refugees and other immigrants who provide terrorists “limited material support” now can come to America. So what if someone merely clothed and fed Mohamed Atta or Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? After all, garments and meals don’t blow up. Welcome to America, Mustafa!

Meanwhile, the Justice Department is working hard to revoke the asylum of and deport the Romeikes. This evangelical-Christian family was granted refuge in America to escape prosecution for homeschooling their children, which German law forbids.

So, Obama believes, those who are only somewhat helpful to deadly, anti-U.S. terrorists may become Americans, while religiously oppressed homeschoolers who face prison should get the hell out.

The transparent electoral motive that fuels so many of Obama’s executive orders seems unprecedented. The tone is also brand new. Obama’s predecessors have signed executive orders and, more or less, left it at that. But Obama pounds his chest as he does so. As he told Congress at last month’s State of the Union address: “America does not stand still — and neither will I. So wherever and whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, that’s what I’m going to do.”

While appalled Republicans sat on their hands, Democrats stood up and shouted like equatorial, rubber-stamp parliamentarians: “Hooray! We are irrelevant!”

    Chilling.

Meanwhile, as the American Enterprise Institute’s Marc Thiessen wrote in the February 10 Washington Post, new Congressional Budget Office figures show that Obamacare will reduce U.S. incomes by $70 billion annually between 2017 and 2024. The CBO also estimated that by 2021, Obamacare’s disincentives to hire and incentives not to work would slash labor hours by the equivalent of 2.3 million jobs.

Rather than dispute these figures, key Democrats embraced them.

“We want people to have the freedom to be a writer, to be a photographer, to make music, to paint,” said House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California. She added that “people would no longer be job-locked by their [health] policies, but have the freedom to follow their passion.”

So, rather than expand economic growth and jobs, Democrats applaud as Americans stop working — to do watercolors, draft poetry, and take naps — while exhausted taxpayers foot the bill.

Clearly unafraid of Obama, Iranian warships for the first time are steaming toward America’s Atlantic maritime borders. Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps navy commander Ali Fadayi said, “The Americans can sense by all means how their warships will be sunk with 5,000 crews and forces in combat against Iran and how they should find its hulk in the depths of the sea.” Tehran last week also aired fantasy videos of drones blasting a U.S. warship and bombing Tel Aviv. This is how Iran behaves while it negotiates with U.S. diplomats over “peaceful” uranium enrichment?

Nearby, embattled Syrians flee the city of Homs while they and their United Nations protectors dodge incoming mortar shells. This sorry spectacle has exposed Obama’s Syrian policy as a miserable flop. So does the fact that Syrian president Bashar Assad has handed over only 4 percent of the chemical weapons that his deal last September with Obama and Vladimir Putin was supposed to neutralize. According to GOP senators John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Secretary of State John Kerry privately conceded to them that Obama’s approach in Syria has failed.

America liberated Afghanistan from a regime that hosted al-Qaeda, banned kites and recorded music, and built a bridge to the seventh century. And what thanks does the U.S. get? Over American objections, Afghan president Hamid Karzai last week released 65 Taliban warriors from Bagram prison, where they were being held on suspicion of killing American troops, murdering Afghan civilians, deploying roadside bombs, and otherwise perpetrating mayhem. When U.S. officials complained that these killers could return to the fight — as have other Taliban thugs, once freed — Karzai exploded: “If the Afghan judicial authorities decide to release a prisoner, it is of no concern to the U.S. I hope that the U.S. will stop harassing Afghanistan’s procedures and judicial authority, and I hope the U.S. will now begin to respect Afghan sovereignty.”

For these and many other reasons, Democrats are fleeing Obama.

“I don’t care to have him campaign for me,” said Senator Mark Begich (D., Alaska).

A reelection ad for Representative Joe Garcia (D., Fla.) boasts that “he voted to let you keep your existing health plan, and he took the White House to task for the disastrous healthcare website.”

“He [Obama] is hurting the Democratic brand right now,” veteran Democratic campaign strategist Joe Trippi told Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly on February 12. “The Obamacare snafus, his approval rating is declining, and his credibility problems all drag the Democratic brand down.”

Rather than resist an increasingly weak — yet ever more assertive — Obama, GOP congressional leaders hand him whatever he wants. Thus, House speaker John Boehner and Senate GOP chief Mitch McConnell of Kentucky pushed through a $1.012 trillion budget with, at best, minuscule and illusory spending cuts. A $956 billion farm bill includes $3 million to promote Christmas trees (who on Earth would buy them without federal assistance?), $100 million for maple-syrup market research, and $170 million for catfish protectionism. Boehner and McConnell sent Obama this gift-wrapped monstrosity, which was $56 billion higher than Obamacare’s original price tag. And in exchange, Obama gave them . . . zippo!

On February 12, Boehner and McConnell helped send Obama a measure to suspend the debt limit until March 15, 2015. (The debt ceiling was not raised from $17.2 trillion to a higher level; it simply was removed. The gas pedal remains in Obama’s Little Red Cor-debt, but the brakes are gone.) This passed the GOP House with Boehner and only 27 Republicans voting yes. The other 194 votes were from Democrats. When McConnell surrendered on cloture, 11 other Republican senators helped Democrats advance their dirty work. The debt ceiling is now a debt sunroof.

And what did Washington’s top two Republicans get for giving Obama 13 months to shop till America drops? Nothing! No repeal of Obamacare’s $47 billion bailout of health insurers. No approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline. No termination of the cure-killing medical-device tax. No votes on these matters, which would have forced Democrats to choose. This could have helped Republican candidates in November.

Steely resolve could stymie the unpopular and untrustworthy Obama. Sadly, Boehner, McConnell, and other GOP leaders are as firm as foil.

Happy Valentine’s Day! The Senate Conservatives Fund has broken up with House Speaker John Boehner.

“Republicans are giving up because they know that winning is impossible when their leaders are determined to lose,” the Senate Conservatives Fund stated. “These leaders have telegraphed weakness to the Democrats and sabotaged conservative efforts so many times that Republicans now have no leverage.” The group concluded: “John Boehner must be replaced as Speaker of the House. . . . Unless we install a new leader who will actually go on offense, Democrats will never fear us and we will never have any leverage.”

Also, Earth’s sole superpower is sagging where it should be No. 1. America has slouched to No. 12 on the 2014 Heritage Foundation/Wall Street Journal Index of Economic Freedom.

“Now considered only a ‘mostly free’ economy, the U.S. has earned the dubious distinction of having recorded one of the longest sustained declines in economic freedom, second only to Argentina, of any country in the [20-year] history of the Index,” the report states. “The U.S. is the only country to have recorded a loss of economic freedom each of the past seven years.”

Regarding graft, America has stayed stable in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index. Unfortunately, and as recently as 2013, the U.S. has remained Earth’s 19th most honest country.

Thanks, in part, to Team Obama’s surveillance of journalists from Fox News Channel and the Associated Press, America tumbled 13 spots down Reporters Without Borders’ 2014 World Press Freedom Index. The U.S. dropped this year from No. 33 to No. 46. Hence, 45 nations now have freer journalists than does America. RWB calls America “satisfactory” rather than the top-rated “good.” As the report states: “Amid an all-out hunt for leaks and sources, 2013 will also be the year of the Associated Press scandal, which came to light when the Department of Justice acknowledged that it had seized the news agency’s phone records.”

    America is a total mess.

The Land of the Free is governed by an out-of-control egomaniac, neither bolstered by managerial competence nor hindered by the legislature’s institutional prerogatives. In the Home of the Brave, half of Congress cheers Obama’s unconstitutional behavior, while the other half grumbles and then meekly carpet-bombs his path with white flags.

The American people have been betrayed — both by Obama and the Democrats, whose lust for control intensifies daily, and by Republican leaders in Washington, whose cowardice and defeatism have turned their guts and spines into tapioca.

America, as Paul Simon sings, is slip-slidin’ away. And the worst part hasn’t happened yet.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts the Democrats’ messaging on Obamacare. “Mend it, don’t end it” just blew up in their face.

I’m not sure they realize just how much credibility they’ve lost on the issue of healthcare. Granted, they probably still have more public support on the issue than Republicans do. But they used to hold a 15+ point lead on it.

I really think that, eventually, they’re going to have to essentially call to go back to the drawing board.

One Month ago while frolicking in the waters off of Hawaii, Michelle Obama Queefed in the ocean. Over a million dead fish washed up on the beaches within 24 hours. Where is the outrage?

The last thing the talking heads want to do is wait and count the vote. Hot air, and total inability to read the mood of the electorate. Sitting in their ivory towers and looking at previous elections is all they know how to do. I suggest they get out and visit fly over country.

That would entail them giving up their seats at the Beltway Cocktail Club this weekend.

Bill and Hillary Clinton should be in prison for crimes
against humanity for what they did to their fellow citizens at Waco, TX, on April 19, 1993. The Waco Massacre and church burning (it was a church, not a “compound”), was the most brutal, heinous violation of civil, human and Constitutional rights in this nation’s history. Innocent men, women and children were attacked with tanks, poison gas (CS gas turns to cyanide when heated) and burned alive. Those who ran from the church were machine-gunned as documented in the movie “Waco, The Rules of Engagement.” If you doubt how bad this was consider that you never hear the left stream media talk about it. They want it erased from history but this memorial site will remain
      forever: http://www.wizardsofaz.com/waco/waco2.html
And if that weren’t bad enough, Clinton’s thugs then stuck a machine gun in the face of a 5 year old boy and sent him to the communist gulag known as Cuba: http://www.therealcuba.com/elian_gonzalez.htm

Let’s hope Clinton isn’t teaching President Prompter too many of his old
tricks! Here’s a list of the children murdered at Waco: Lisa Martin 13, Sheila Martin, Jr. 15, Rachel Sylvia 12, Hollywood Sylvia 1, Joseph Martinez 8, Abigail Martinez 11, Crystal Martinez 3 Isaiah Martinez 4, Audrey Martinez 13, Melissa Morrison 6, Chanel Andrade 1, Cyrus Koresh 8 Star Koresh 6, Bobbie Lane Koresh 2, Dayland Gent 3, Page Gent 1, Mayanah Schneider 2, Startle Summers 1, Serenity Jones 4, Chica Jones 2, Little One Jones 2

90 SUSPICIOUS DEATHS OF INDIVIDUALS CLOSE TO BILL CLINTON, 81 WHILE PRESIDENT

The following is a list of a number of persons who have died in suspicious circumstances who
had connection to the Clintons or the Clinton’s dealings. The length and breadth of this list is
disconcerting. It is beyond credibility that very many of these cases are coincidences. Forward
any errors or inconsistancies as the list has been compiled from multiple sources:

This will be the end of the Democratic Party and the Democrat voter Fraud.

The Coming Collapse of the Welfare State

In 1935, the year that FDR signed the Social Security Act into law, the birth rate was 18.7 per 1,000. In 1940, when the first monthly check was issued, it had gone up to 19.4. By 1954, when Disability had been added, the birth rate at the heart of the Baby Boom stood at 25.3.

In a nation of 163 million people, 4 million babies were being born each year.

By 1965, when Medicare was plugged in, the birth rate had fallen back to 19.4. For the first time in ten years fewer than 4 million babies had been born in a country of 195 million. Medicare had been added in the same year that saw the single biggest drop in birth rates since the Great Depression.

There could not have been a worse time for Medicare than the end of the Baby Boom.

Today in a nation of 317 million, 4.1 million babies are being born each year for a birth rate of 13.0 per 1,000. 40.7% of those births are to unmarried mothers so that it will be a long time, if ever, before they pay back into the system, and most will never put back in as much as they are taking out.

Liberals and libertarians both act as if the crisis facing us can be fixed if we take more from the “wealthy elderly” or give them less. The crisis is born of demographics. It can’t be fixed by targeting the elderly because they haven’t been the problem in some time.

It’s the same crisis being faced by countries as diverse as Russia and Japan. The difference is that Russia is autocratic and has little concern for its people while Japan shuns immigration and has a political system dominated by the elderly.

The United States however takes in a million immigrants a year. In his 2013 State of the Union address, Barack Obama praised Desiline Victor, a 102-year-old Haitian woman who moved to the United States at the age of 79 and never learned to speak English, but did spend hours waiting in line in Florida to vote for Obama.

Between 1990 and 2010, the number of immigrants over 65 doubled from 2.7 million to 5 million. Twenty-five percent of these senior immigrants were over 80. Elderly immigrants are also much more likely to become citizens, in part because the requirements for them are lower. Many, like Desiline Victor, don’t even have to learn English to be able to stand in line and vote.

15 percent of senior immigrants come from Mexico largely as a result of family unification programs. If amnesty for illegal aliens goes through, before long the country will be on the hook not just for twelve million illegal aliens, but also for their grandparents.

The welfare state has been spending more money with an unsustainable demographic imbalance. There are fewer working families supporting more elderly, immigrants and broken families. The Russians invest money into increasing the native birth rate. Instead we fund Planned Parenthood because liberal economic eugenics dictates that we should extract “full value” from working women as a tax base to subsidize the welfare state while discarding the next generation.

The “modern” system that we have adopted with its low birth rates, high social spending and retirement benefits is at odds with itself. We can have low birth rates, deficit spending or Social Security; but there is no possible way that we can have all three.

And yet we have all three.

In the European model that we have adopted, men and women are supposed to spend their twenties being educated and their thirties having two children. These Johns and Julias will work in some appropriately “modern” field building apps, designing environmentally sustainable cribs for the few children being born or teaching new immigrants to speak enough English to vote. Then they plan to retire on money that doesn’t actually exist because they are still paying off their student loans.

John and Julia began marriage with tens of thousands in debts, only one of them will work full time, while the other balances part time work, and they will do all this while being expected to support social services for new immigrants and a native working class displaced by the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, not to mention the elderly and the entire bureaucracy that has grown around them. If John and Julia are lucky, they will find work in a technology field that is still growing, or, more likely they will pry their way into the social services bureaucracy which will keep on paying them and cover their benefits until the national bankruptcy finally arrives.

In this post-work and post-poverty economy, those most likely to have children are also least likely to work or to be able to afford to have those children.

Birth rates for women on welfare are three times higher than for those who are not on welfare. Within a single year, the census survey found that unmarried women had twice as high a birth rate as married women. These demographics help perpetuate poverty and feed a welfare death spiral in which more money has to be spent on social services for a less productive tax base.

Children raised on welfare are far more likely to end up on welfare than the children of working families.

Fertility rates fall sharply above the $50,000 income line and with a graduate degree; that has ominous implications in a country whose socio-economic mobility rates continue to fall.

Progressive activists still talk as if we can afford any level of social service expenditures if we raise taxes on the rich, but workers can’t be created by raising taxes. Everything that the left has done, from breaking up the family to driving out manufacturing industries to promoting Third World immigration has made its own social welfare spending completely unsustainable.

By 2031, nearly a century after the Social Security Act, an estimated 75 million baby boomers will have retired. Aside from the demographic disparity in worker ages is a subtler disparity in worker productivity and independence as senior citizens are left chasing social spending dollars that are increasingly going to a younger population. ObamaCare with its Medicare Advantage cuts was a bellwether of the shift in health care spending from seniors to the welfare population.

Increasing welfare is only a form of Death Panel economic triage that doesn’t compensate for the lack of productive workers. It’s easy to model Obamerica as Detroit, a country with a huge indigent welfare population and a small wealthy tax base. The model doesn’t work in Detroit and it’s flailing in New York, California and every city and state where it’s been tried.

After a century of misery, the left still hasn’t learned that there is no substitute for the middle class. It’s not just running out of money, it’s running out of people.

The welfare state has no future. It is only a question of what terms it will implode on and what will happen to the social welfare political infrastructure when it does. The violence in Venezuela and the slow death of Detroit give us insights into the coming collapse of the welfare state.

A bit long, but quite informative and very true. I’m sure the Libertarians and Liberals will scrutinize you thoroughly for being truthful and on target. Fortunately you didn’t mention God, so maybe they’ll just give you a pass and move on down to bash someone who believes it’s now in His hands.

Alex Sink gave her concession speech before a half-empty room of subdued and shaken supporters. Funny how the rats are smart enough to start abandoning a sinking ship, isn’t it?

    • rightside100

She was a good candidate, ran an excellent campaign and should have easily beat a beaten up nobody candidate who ran a poorly funded disorganized campaign. They had a right to be shaken, Obamacare destroyed her and probably her career. Every Dem politician knows now they could be next.

        • rightside100

Calm down, I said good candidate. The fact that she lost is a warning to all Dems. Obamacare is the most economically destructive piece of legislation ever, not to mention controlling and must be repealed. That is the goal and her lost is another step in that direction.

      • Tank555

The democrats in congress should have thought of that before they all jumped in and voted for Obamacare. As the Rev. Wright once said, “The Chickens are coming home to roost”.

  • disqus_M9Ev93PFTF

What scares me is how close the Dem candidate and the Repub candidate were in Florida. Still THAT MANY stupid people voting for the Dem really, really is a scary testament to the number of foolish, uninformed people in our nation.

I agree. I used to think he was just stupid/naive and ideologue..but probably a “good person”. No more. I have concluded NOBODY can be that stupid/naive and continue destroying out country in every area possible for 6 years without doing it ON PURPOSE. My opinion has changed to thinking of him as a liar, manipulator and wannabe tyrant…aka “bad man”.

    • rightside100

I don’t agree he is bad but he is an arrogant ideologue which is just as bad. Bad ideas and the inability to be flexible makes for a lousy politician especially a President. Any opposition to his ideas are a personal affront.

i am guessing from the way the article was written that democrats felt assured enough of a win that they had their puppet in the media write this article to discourage people from voting. guess what? IT DIDN’T WORK. people are tired of the same old Rhinos and Dinos. time for new blood. anybody running for re-election might take heed here and see what the results are for those that think they can ride the shirttail of “not the one” into office. i only hope this trend will continue throughout the year and carry into Novemeber. it would do my heart good to see dirty harry have to relinguish his gavel and take a seat down with the commoners and get knocked off his throne

  • sgfan

I will bet this won’t be on the msm much if any. The dems lost a race they were favored to win. It’s all because of Obamacare that will decimate the dems who voted for it as well as any dem who embraces it.

Will Obamacare be repealed or won’t it? Will Congress fund
it or won’t it? Will the web site be fixed or won’t it? Blah, blah, blah. We
the people just need to do what we need to do and Congress be damned.
Resist. Refuse. Revolt. EXEMPT OURSELVES! We did not comply with
Prohibition and we simply should not comply with Obamacare. For
religious reasons. For privacy reasons. For the cause of liberty and
freedom and in protest of the idea that the federal government (under
one party rule, no less), can force private citizens to purchase
anything with our own money. Are we citizens or subjects? Mice or
(wo)men? Just say NO to socialism and to the corrupt, unionized, far
left IRS, the gestapo of America’s political class. After all, the
federal government ignores millions of illegals who are breaking U.S.
immigration law every day. Our Founders pledged their lives, their
fortunes and their sacred honor. All we have to do is just say no to a
scheme we all know is un-American and a violation of our most basic
founding fundamentals of privacy, self reliance, limited government and individual freedom.

Preaching to the choir. Most will just vote for the other guy if a clear alternative is offered. Rino’s will not do these days except in the bluest of districts and then only a repeal is acceptible.

      • Robert Courtney

I just read a person saying he voted for the Libertarian just because he was angry over all the negative ads.
I just read a BUNCH of folks voted for the Libertarian because they think the GOP Establishment is as bad as the Democrats.
        Insane.
Folks, I am sorry. While I agree that RINOs hurt America, not ONE RINO is as bad as ANY Democrat when it comes to destroying America.
So all I can do is advise this.
Vote for the MOST Conservative in the Primaries. Then, if your guy doesn’t win, don’t get mad and take your ball and stay home or make a protest vote. Vote for the Republican.
Primaries are to dump the RINOs, Generals are to get rid of the Communist Democrats. PERIOD.
This is one case walking and chewing gum is not a plus. 1st things 1st!
And there are NO moderate Democrats. If they try to play that in their campaigns, they LIE! When they get to Congress, they turn into useless idiots and walk the party line as Obama Bois dictate.
        Simple as that.

Do Liberals Care if Third World Illnesses Infect Americans?
    By Jeannie DeAngelis

One of the favorite pastimes of liberalism is to try to inflict guilt on people of European descent for being part of a lineage that they believe, in the words of Bill Ayers at the Dartmouth Debate with Dinesh D’Souza, “murdered” the American Indians by way of contagious disease.
Calling it the “European Invasion,” liberals believe that prior to Christopher Columbus’ arrival American Indians were virtually disease-free. Never mind that syphilis, which originated in the New World, was brought back to Europe, where spirochete bacterium was not present until after Columbus and his fellow discoverers returned in 1493.
The Columbian theory concludes that invaders from across the sea brought to the Americas the scourge of bubonic and pneumonic plague, chicken pox, cholera, diphtheria, influenza, measles, scarlet fever, smallpox, typhus, tuberculosis, and whooping cough.
Even though Indian tribes were slaughtering each other, lefties argue that their lack of immunity was solely responsible for American Indians dying en masse after exposure to infectious diseases, and are persuaded that 80-90 percent of the Native American population perished after Europeans landed in the New World.
Whether that scenario is truth or fiction, there remains a problem with the argument. Liberals incessantly harp on the fate of unsuspecting American Indians being infected with European maladies, yet that outrage doesn’t jibe with their insistence that amnesty be granted to illegal aliens, some of whom carry diseases eradicated long ago from North America.
At the turn of the century, immigrants coming to America through Ellis Island were screened for disease, just as law-abiding persons immigrating via legal channels today require a medical exam as part of the process. Meanwhile, irresponsible politicians on the left, who portray Christopher Columbus as a marauding murderer, choose to ignore the influx of modern-day intruders carrying with them highly-contagious Third World diseases into the US.
Liberal logic approves of government making vaccinations mandatory to protect the American public, but then proposes legalizing anywhere from 11 to 30 million completely unscreened illegal aliens.
The hypocrisy is stunning. Do amnesty advocates care that blood tainted with malaria, a disease eradicated from the USA back in the 1940s, was deemed responsible for outbreaks in California, New Jersey, NYC, and Texas?
How about Asian illegals introducing dengue fever, a viral disease previously unknown in the US, as well as hemorrhagic dengue fever, which is fatal if untreated?
Could it be that amnesty advocates feel that, as part of the retribution for white European ancestors contaminating America’s indigenous people, hundreds of years later it’s acceptable that innocent children require lifesaving platelet transfusions to cure dengue fever?
The Biblical scourge of leprosy, a “slow-growing bacillus…parasite with a tropism for peripheral nerves, skin, and mucous membranes…upper respiratory tract, anterior chamber of the eye, and the testes,” is also within our borders. In 2002, there were only 900 total cases of leprosy in the US. In the next three years there were 9,000 , mostly in states with the largest immigrant populations.
Dr. William Levis, head of the New York Hansen’s Disease Clinic, told Columbia News Service, “[Leprosy] is a real phenomenon. It’s a public health threat. New York is endemic now, and nobody’s noticed.”
Do those hostile to 15th century European exploration feel that although it was once rare in America, an increase of reported leprosy cases adds to the multicultural diversity liberals embrace with such affection?
It would be interesting to hear whether or not Mr. Obama is of the opinion that “reconciling our values and principles as a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws” includes the high price of exposing Americans to leprosy.
Then there are contagions like Chagas Disease, a parasitic illness that was endemic to South and Central America but now infects between 100,000 and 500,000 illegal immigrants currently living in the US.
The CDC considers Chagas Disease one of the “neglected parasitic infections (NPI), a group of five parasitic diseases that have been targeted by CDC for public health action,” another of which is guinea-worm. The guinea-worm parasite, an uninvited alien of a different kind, causes severe pain as the worm works its way though a human host’s subcutaneous tissue.
Hepatitis A-E are viral infections that attack the liver. And then there’s highly-contagious tuberculosis, which had been brought under control in the US, but thanks to a border that remains open, is growing harder to control.
Incurable Multi-Drug-Resistant (MDR) Tuberculosis, a strain resistant to all standard anti-TB drugs, is now on the rise in the US.
In an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Dr. Reuben Granich, a lead investigator for the CDC, concluded: “Reluctant to label the infected as ‘illegal’ or even ‘undocumented’ aliens…407 known cases of MDR-TB, 84% were ‘foreign-born’ patients, mainly from Mexico and the Philippines who’d been in the U.S. less than five years.”

Recently, shoppers in Nyack, NY were exposed to measles in Palisades Center Mall. So, a word to the wise: the next time a French fry falls on the table in the food court or the handle of a shopping cart is grabbed, remember that along with open borders and liberal politicians come diseases and various deadly pathogens either formerly eradicated or never endemic to the US in the first place, are waiting for a new host, and you are nominated.
Meanwhile, despite the risk to the American people, food workers and produce handlers potentially carrying illnesses like blood-borne Hepatitis are doing “work Americans won’t do.” Then, instead of shielding the American public from catastrophe, politicians like Barack Obama, advocate for workers with potentially communicable diseases to stay.
So, once again the self-righteous left proves they are the champions of idiotic double standards. They condemn European-descended whites for murdering Native Americans centuries ago, while arguing on behalf of illegals currently spreading a plethora of deadly Third World afflictions with the potential to infect and kill millions of Americans.

    • Bruce Beasman

That many native Americans perished after Columbus arrived is hard to argue against – smallpox mainly. The population drop was so great that eastern forests recovered so much from the habitual, intentional burning by natives that CO2 was sequestered to the point that it may have caused the Little Ice Age.

How To Opt Out Of Obamacare. Know your options and become savvy self-pay
patients. Join a health care sharing ministry. These are voluntary,
charitable membership organizations that agree to share medical bills
among the membership. They function similar to insurance, and are
probably the best alternative to conventional health insurance. There
are four of them, at least that I know of. Three are open only to
practicing Christians (Samaritan Ministries, Christian Healthcare
Ministries, and Christian Care Ministry) while a fourth, Liberty
HealthShare, is open to anyone who agrees with their ethical commitment
to religious liberty. They operate entirely outside of Obamacare’s
regulations, and typically offer benefits for about half the cost of
similar health insurance. Members are also exempt from having to pay the
tax for being uninsured. From the article by Sean Parnell

What everyone should have already learned from the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama, a.k.a. Barry Soetoro, or whoever the heII this guy really is, has got to be stop attacking our own Republican party. No matter who wins the Primaries. Primaries are the selection of the people who vote, not the party as some dimwits still in the dark think. There is no Democrat that won’t destroy our way of life. There is no Republican bent on Socialism. Stop shooting our own candidates in the foot before the Democrats even get the chance to take them out.

What a stupid political analysis, this District has been in Republican hands since 1983!

    • whimsicalmama

it did go for obama in the 2 presidential elections, so it wasn’t a certainty, especially since there wasn’t an incumbent. the dems really thought they had a chance, given their candidates rep and the amount of money pumped in.

      • George Washington

I think it shows a miscalculation by the Dems in this particular district, rather than illustrating anything general about the upcoming election. The country is very polarized and will likely vote along traditional norms. And once again I think the Tea Party will shoot itself in the foot by supporting candidates who win primaries but do not appeal to a-political voters in battleground states/districts.

        • Armand Rodriguez

Fortunately the Democrats don’t support candidates who “appeal to a-political voters” either. They’ve finally isolated themselves from mainstream American values and now depend entirely on buying votes – with your children’s and grandchildren’s money, of course. Look for a blood letting in November that’ll make 2010 look tame. First blood was drawn yesterday…for the Republicans.

    • whimsicalmama

while your analysis is enjoyable, don’t get too giddy, there are plenty of nasty operators left in the democratic ranks and this is going to be an ugly 2 years. we will see if enough “grownups” are left in our population to reverse this almost century long debacle into socialism/relativism or if we have passed the tipping point and are on an un-stoppable rocket sled to destruction.

My advice to the conservatives is do not read too much into one race. The American public has a very low approval of Washington politicians generally. While ObamaCare is a disaster, so are our fiscal and foreign policies. What conservatives must do is convince the people that they are willing and able to approach all of these issues in a realistic, constructive manner.

    • useyourhead2

Actually, they need to approach only one thing and that is to promise the repeal of the [Un]Affordable Care Act. That is what the election in Florida’s 13th District proved despite all of the above mentioned advantages of Alex Sink.

  • Hotguyg

I am stunned that the Libertarian candidate got 5% of the vote. That may send an anti-Obama Big government message but those should have been votes for Jolly. That would have given him an even greater margin of victory and sent an even louder message to Obamaton,D.C.

    • Clint Joiner

Woah there. Who’s saying that 5% would have voted at all. Libertarians are not interested in voting for the lesser of two evils. Lucas Overby was offering a choice between the constitution and business as usual.

I don’t live in this district, but have always felt it to be condescending when a Republican claims the Libertarian candidate “stole” their votes.

      • trustandobeyalways

problem is that not voting for the lesser of two evils IS a vote for the evil, by default

        • trustandobeyalways

just seems like reality and history have shown that to be the case

        • Kirk

Agreed. Libertarians can’t win anything; however, they can prevent Republicans from winning something.
We need to court them back. With that said, the Libertarians I have talked to seem to be irritated with both parties. But I believe that hurts Republicans more. That could be disastrous in closely contested districts.

      • Hotguyg

I respect a persons right vote however they choose. Most libertarians do not support bigger government and socialism, i.e.the Dem agenda. They certainly don’t want Obamacare do they? Most, not all. of those Libertarians are better served with a Republican Rep. rather than a Lib-Dem in Congress.

        • Clint Joiner

I’ve got no problem with limited government, conservative Republicans. The problem is 90% of them are Democrat light; big government, tax and spend RHINOs. I’ve got no use for them.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love to vote for a Republican, and I realize there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. If we keep sending mealie mouthed, slimey Republicans (Chris Christie), what’s the point in voting for them? You think they’re going to reduce the budget deficit or end corruption…much less guarantee individual freedom and personal responsibility?

          • Hotguyg

Again, I completely agree with you. Realistically our only hope is to elect Rino’s and pressure them into being conservatives. Obamastahn is not going to elect a Ronald Reagan but a restored America just might.

    • Jim Wolfson

What do you mean “should have been votes for Jolly”. What if Jolly didn’t earn their votes? Thank God for alternatives.

The GOPussies should be stunned at the 5% too, they need to work harder and do what they promise, unlike the last time they controlled Congress and the White House.

If Boehner and McConnell survive their primaries, I’m voting Libertarian because there will be ZERO changes other than to their office redecorations and liquor cabinets.

      • trustandobeyalways

relax, it just means that harry reid and nancy pelosi have a better chance of continuing to wallow in partisan corruption and stonewalling if the voter can’t bring himself to vote repub,..normally it is good to have choices, just that in our country libertarians would end up voting repub it seems like, if no other option in the face of such rampant corruption and IRS targeting etc, but that is conjecture on my part

      • Hotguyg

I agree with everything you said. Do you agree that it is better for America that Jolly won?

  • Dr Fistington

Sorry Democrats, even after all the dead that voted for your candidate and all the money you used trying to buy the election, you still lost. Get used to the feeling.

A disaster for dems and their inability to message around Obamacare and make the case against Republicans in a district with divided tendencies was evident. Democrats won’t have candidates as seasoned or well-funded as Alex Sink everywhere and they now know privately that they’re looking at a dismal 2014 if they can’t win districts like this one

  • Brian B.

This election put a smile on my face. Conservatives have not had reason to smile for a long time. We have the worse president of all time along with the millions of sheeple who follow his every word. This gives me hope that the country might be waking up. Cannot wait until November.

  • Zach Peterson

As they said at Apollumi.com on this issue, Democrats should have been careful for what they wished for. They now have Obamacare which has been a complete, total failure of biblical proportions and effects every voter, not just a select few. People hate it. It’s terrible. It’s disasterous. It’s a historical flop like nothing ever seen before. Now, the Dems will pay the price for their lack of vision, inability to listen to voters, or ineptitude in dealing with problems.
    Good riddance.

Let us show gratitude and pray that it is but a beginning to the end of the most evil, socialist takeover attempt ever perpetrated on the U.S. If it is stopped now and in November, with the “nuclear option hatched by the devil Majority Leader” the 51% who will then sit in judgment – will restore the Constitution, the Rule of Law and clean house. Cleaning house will mean charges brought against Holder, Lerner and Hillary. Contempt charges followed up on with penalties applied. If proven – impeachment charges where they apply. It was the stay home on election day Non-voter that re-elected Obama. Blaming his supporters is not the solution. Millions of McCain voters and Obama regrettors just didnt bother to show up and vote.

Kind of equates to a default Obama is a hostile takeover. From his documented Pakistani IP Address a man sent Obama and Romney a $10 contribution. Romney’s bounced (Foreign Source) and Obama after a few days not only took the $10 but Michelle O sent requesting him and 10 of his friends (vote) by sending foreign money. What I would love to see is a grass roots movement of Notary Public verified signatures of all 50 states to have the citizens decide if we all want the benefits of Obama-care. Let the voting polls reflect this. They (Obama) said 3.3 Million voted for Obama-cares type of being our president and now our Doctor. His diagnosis is white is the new black. He pushes the race card to extremities of listening in on Congress now. We have a Manchurian candidate and a hidden Amerika that is that is run amuck in seizing our liberties. by signing up or having an account. This includes the majority of them just checking out what the Governments prize possession is his signature (Ghetto Brand) is suffering enough for Amerika. Obama will show more misery to we reach American Spring. He is waiting for the opportunity for the topple of a nation and create his utopia. Is this how you envisioned Amerika to become. Collective voice told the FCC no, stay away from news broadcasters. All that money spent and the government programmers were too busy creating 19+ Million fake Twitter/Facebook followers. Must be all those dead people and their pets who also vote. No, we don’t need any policing, it’s a war zone in Amerika.

  • Dave Dk Kelly

  • trustandobeyalways

charles krauthammer, washington post columnist, said it best

“We canceled your plan, explained Jay Carney, because it was substandard. We have a better idea.”

Translation: Sure, you freely chose the policy, paid for the policy, renewed the policy, and liked the policy. But you’re too primitive to know what you need. We do. Your policy is hereby canceled.

Because what you really need is what our experts have determined must be in every plan. So a couple in their 60s must buy maternity care. A teetotaler must buy substance-abuse treatment. And a healthy 28-year-old with perfectly appropriate catastrophic insurance must pay for bells and whistles for which he has no use.

“The planners knew all along that if you force insurance buyers to overpay for stuff they don’t need, that money can subsidize other people

  • trustandobeyalways

although i like ann coulter’s take,…”you think health care is expensive now,..wait til it’s free!”

  • trustandobeyalways

in 2010, the republican house tried to get AT LEAST a grandfather clause into the ACA, that would allow people to keep their insurance because by then everyone knew what was going to happen,..dems voted party line to kill it, knowing full well by that time that 70% of people would lose their insurance if not worse

  • trustandobeyalways

from CNN: Senate Democrats killed a 2010 GOP proposal to let more people keep their plans

In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it.

” Only in the District of Columbia could you get away with telling the people if you like what you have you can keep it, and then pass regulations six months later that do just the opposite and figure that people are going to ignore it. But common sense is eventually going to prevail in this town and common sense is going to have to prevail on this piece of legislation as well,” Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said at the time.

Under the grandfathering regulation, according to the White House’s own economic impact analysis, as many as 69 percent of businesses will lose their grandfathered status by 2013 and be forced to buy government-approved plans,” the Iowa Republican said.

On a party line vote, Democrats killed the resolution, which could come back to haunt vulnerable Democrats up for re-election this year.

Republicans should worry about the 5% that the Libertarian candidate got. That’s entirely due to the stupidity of the Republican Leadership, who are almost as corrupt as the Democrats.
The LEADERSHIP HAS to go – good bye and good riddance to Boehner, McConnell and all the rest, including Ryan, the newest loser in the bunch.

    • Jim Wolfson

If those clowns survive their primaries, I’m voting Libertarian in November – because nothing will change with these comfortable, fossilized, lazy drunks and parasites.

      • JoeCasepack

Throwing your vote away tends to help the incumbent. But if you want more Obama-style anything then go for it.

        • jrford

I don’t consider it throwing a vote away. The Libertarian party is legit, but people are so narrow minded, they stick with the two-party system.

I voted for Robert Barr, Libertarian candidate for president, when McCain and Obama ran. In my opinion, Barr was the best candidate, if he had been given the same coverage as the other two, he very well might of been our president and our country would be prospering.

    • JD764

They will say the Republicans OBSTRUCTED every move he made and their plan was made on day one he was elected.

      • Dr. Baldy

Brother please don’t drink the cool aide. Unless you will agree that the Dems opposed President Bush on all his moves. If you fundamentally disagree with the direction of an elected official, you have the right to oppose. Or is disagreement now illegal in the US? Let’s look at facts instead of being a hack. For 2 years, Dems controlled Congress. They could have passed immigration reform, budget reforms, legalizing Gay marriage, and taken away guns- but they didn’t have the backing of their constituents (hint – this had nothing to do with Repubs!!!!). Even the New York Times has written that Obama has not even taken the time to hear Republicans point-of-view. Obama, arrogantly said “I won” . . . sending the message it’s my way or the highway. While I will agree that their are Repubs who would never make concessions – where is Obama and making concessions – please name me Dems that are willing to compromise.

A great start for Obama to build trust would be to enforce current laws and (gasp) allow the Keystone pipeline be built (which gasp again is supported by the vast majority of Americans – including Unions).

        • BoSSspy

Good post! Don’t forget the minimum wage though, they had 2 years to raise it and didn’t, why? Simple, it is better as a campaign issue than legislation. The dems have been waging a war on poverty for 70 years, and it’s gotten worse pretty much every year, but they have no intentions of actually solving it, even if it were solvable because it would destroy their dumbed-down base of gimmedats!

          • Purplesuiter

    • UMTigerFan

If Hillary wins, she should watch her back between election day and inauguration day.

Picture this: President Elect Hillary Clinton was assassinated today by a right wing lunatic. As a result, President Obama has declared martial law and vows that he will remain in the Presidency until this crime has been fully adjudicated. Also, because he declares martial law, he has ordered federal, state and local police forces to go door-to-door and confiscate all firearms to prevent anything like this from happening ever again in the future!

Sad part is it’s not that unbelievable!
