Boxer Accuses GOP of Acting Like Domestic Abusers

Sen. Barbara Boxer likened GOP lawmakers to people who abuse their spouses on Monday when discussing the current government shutdown and the looming debt limit deadline.

The California Democrat, like most in her party, blames the lack of government funding and current impasse over raising the debt ceiling on Republicans who have insisted on passing measures aimed at dismantling the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.

First she compared the current budget crisis to walking down the street on a nice day and then deciding to bash yourself in the head with a rock.

Then she said:

“It’s a self-inflicted wound. I never questioned, never questioned the fact that Republicans, Democrats, and independents love this country. Love this country. I never questioned it. But I have to say, when you start acting like you’re committing domestic abuse, you’ve got a problem. ‘I love you dear, but you know, I’m shutting down your entire government. I love you dear, but I’m going to default and you’re going to be weak.’ Something is dreadfully wrong.”

This woman is wacked. Is she Thelma or Louise though? I forget.

What a sick, uncaring thing to say.

    • disqus_JQHDzkBxDF

Sick is the operative word. Disturbed. (Hormones)

  • Redhotchilli Pepper

she must of heard that line in her life .. if that is the first thing that comes to mind

  • Bo Tanaka

What happened to civility in politics that the President called for a few years ago…or does that only apply to Republicans and conservatives?

  • Aeffesstoo

Is there anything these assholes don’t get away with saying?

    • ML NJ

So close to what I was thinking of posting!

      • disqus_JQHDzkBxDF

We know you just cant help yourself

  • Hank Scorpio

That’ll help resolve the current impasse. I’m sure the GOP will all collectively hang their heads in shame over being likened to a domestic abuser. They’ll be buying the Dems flowers and begging forgiveness for having a different opinion.

Or maybe not. Maybe they’ll dig in their heels.

  • UnsungPatriot

    Oh, no… She caught us!

    No, wait…

  • disqus_JQHDzkBxDF

Why are we surprised at Sen Boxer’s comments? This comment merely reflects the level of her intelligence. She can’t help herself. She’s either mentally challenged or just that time of life.

Not reported is that Senator Boxer was speaking to a potted plant, and was wearing mismatched shoes. Immediately afterword, she latched onto a confused passerby and asked him to “Bring me to Elvis’ dressing room!”

  • unclebarb

They never stop the name calling. They are like an abusive husband. Barb, you are a whale assed hack.

  • KlugerRD

Boxer is a pig and it is amazing that no one in her own party does not muzzle her putrid mouth.

  • RAF

    Boxer forgot a few:

I love you dear, but I’ll cheat on you while governor of AK (then get elected to
President of the United States and cheat some more). I love you dear, but I’ll
cheat on you while governing NY (then I’ll get a CNN gig). I love you dear, but
I’ll cheat on you with a woman I’ll let drown in the Chappaquiddick (and then
I’ll become a US Senator). I love you dear, but I’ll cheat on you while you are dying of cancer (and then deny I fathered a child with my mistress). I love you dear, but I will still download and distribute child pornography while working for Senator Barbra Boxer (not just one staffer, but two: Jeff Rosato, Advisor and Bernie Ward, Legislative Assistant).

Senator Barbara Boxer should be ashamed of herself for even thinking about making such an insulting and hypocritical speech, let alone actually delivering it on the Senate floor.

Lucky for us the Democrats have toned down the rhetoric…
