Another Ugly Poll for Obama
Posted at 12:21 p.m. on May 5
These aren’t the poll results President Barack Obama is looking for. A new USA Today/Pew poll has ugly numbers for the president’s Democratic Party ahead of the midterm elections and even uglier figures for the president.
The poll found a 4-point lead for Republicans over Democrats on the generic congressional ballot, 47 percent to 43 percent.
And by a huge margin, 65 percent to 30 percent, Americans want the next president to pursue different policies than Obama, who, of course, campaigned on a message of change.
Obama himself remains seriously underwater — coming in at 44 percent/50 percent on his approval/disapproval rating in the poll, which had a margin of error of 3 percent.
