Updated 3:43 p.m. | President Barack Obama will not wait any longer for House Republicans to pass an immigration bill, after Speaker John A. Boehner told him he will not allow a vote this year, the president said Monday.

“Last week he informed me that Republicans will continue to block immigration reform at least for the remainder of this year,” Obama said Monday in a Rose Garden statement where he announced he would go it alone on immigration, “without Congress,” as far as he can.

Obama said he believes Boehner when he says he wants to pass an immigration bill, but he hasn’t been able to pass anything despite a year and a half of trying.

“America cannot wait forever for them to act,” Obama said.

Boehner put out a statement blaming Obama for the lack of progress on immigration.

“In our conversation last week, I told the president what I have been telling him for months: the American people and their elected officials don’t trust him to enforce the law as written,” Boehner said. “Until that changes, it is going to be difficult to make progress on this issue. The crisis at our southern border reminds us all of the critical importance of fixing our broken immigration system. It is sad and disappointing that faced with this challenge President Obama won’t work with us, but is instead intent on going it alone with executive orders that can’t and won’t fix these problems.”

Boehner blamed the president’s executive orders for leading to the latest crisis on the border, “giving false hope to children and their families that if they enter the country illegally they will be allowed to stay.  The White House claims it will move to return these children to their families in their home countries, yet additional executive action from this president isn’t going to stem the tide of illegal crossings, it’s only going to make them worse.”

But in his remarks, Obama said Republican leaders have “proven again and again” that they are unwilling to stand up to the tea party and back an immigration bill.

“I’m going to continue to reach out to House Republicans in the hope that they deliver a more permanent solution. …Whenever it is they will find me a willing partner,” Obama said. “The only thing I can’t do is stand by and do nothing while waiting for them to get their act together.”

Obama said that the best solution for Republicans worried that he’s taking too many executive actions is to pass a bill.

Immigration advocates have long pressed Obama to reduce enforcement actions in the interior of the country and to sharply reduce deportations on his own — and he now seems set on doing so.

“Protecting public safety is and will remain a top priority, and we will continue to focus on removing those who have committed serious crimes from our interior, but we will redirect other resources to make sure we keep doing what it takes to keep our border secure,” a White House official said.

The president also is asking his team to provide him with a list of executive actions he can take by the end of the summer.

In the meantime, he will continue to make the case for a comprehensive immigration bill.

Obama said Republicans’ decision not to pass an immigration overhaul has prevented an improvement in border security. An aide noted Obama asked Congress on Monday to provide more money and more authority to deal with the surge of unaccompanied children across the border.

“The failure of Congressional Republicans to act has stopped commonsense reform — which would provide more resources to strengthen border security, help the economy, make all businesses play by the rules, modernize our legal immigration system, and bring 11 million people out of the shadows,” the official said.

I believe that political elites such as Cecilia Munoz are disappointed with the news regarding the death of S. 744. Cecilia serves as the Assistant to the President and Director of the Domestic Policy Council, and formerly a vice-president with National Council of La Raza (NCLR).

For an insightful analysis as to why S. 744 failed, please see Mark Krikorian’s article at

And, see also Steven Camarota’s article, “Why double immigration when so many people already aren’t working?”

The elites would benefit from passage of S. 744 while the American middle class would see even more economic harms than they have endured since the passage of the Immigration Act of 1990 further liberalized U.S. immigration. Note that American citizens with more than a bachelor’s degree have experienced significantly more unemployment.

    Here is an
easy way to understand the illegal immigration enigma. Sacrifice at least a few
minutes and call your Senator or House Representative, or eventually your
family, children will not recognize the America and a negative future under
    Obama’s Imperial reign.

Within Los Angeles County’s health care delivery
system as an example illegals aliens are being treated at a cost of nearly $500
million dollars a year. The cost alone to our Criminal Justice system for the
25 percent of the foreign nationals in the jail population exceeds 550 million
dollars a year? Additionally, illegals collect over $260million in CALWORKS
payments and $360 million in food stamp allocations. These costs alone exceed
one billion dollars annually – excluding the cost of education. Nearly
100,000 children of 60,000 undocumented parents receive aid – for a total of
160,000 incorporated into a city, it
would be the 6th largest city in Los Angeles county Also, one in fifteen people
in California is an illegal immigrant – costing our
    State $3 billion dollars annually.

The failure to control our borders and the lack
of reimbursement from the state and federal government is breaking the back of
local government. These costs have impacted the economy, the social fiber and
the effective operation of our County.”

    What we
don’t need is introducing more poverty to America.

    What we
don’t need is introducing infectious diseases as Drug Resistant Tuberculosis. (I noticed that the national press has
all but completely ignored this major disastrous dilemma.)

    What we
don’t need is introducing more unemployment, when millions of Americans are

What we don’t need is lower wages, by importing cheap illegal aliens.

What we don’t need even more crime imported, as America has its own criminals.

What we don’t need is introducing more educational drop outs from foreign

What we don’t need is introducing is more welfare enslavement with 3rd
    World K-12 schooling.

What we don’t need is introducing even overpopulation and gridlock highways.

What we don’t need is introducing more disparity between classes of people.

    What we
don’t need is the Obama Administration handing out free welfare checks,
schooling, Medicaid, free maternity benefits, vouchers for cheap housing and
    major entitlements to illegal aliens.

What we don’t need is introducing more cultural problems by importing
    non-speakers of English.

What we don’t need in introducing foreigners who are complicit in changing
    American Society.

    What we do
need is the True double layer fence stretching from West to East.

    What we do
need is military deployment to the border.

    What we do
need is more ICE audits on employers, with stringent subsequent penalties.

    What we do
need is more ICE personal for internal enforcements.

    What we do
    need is an mandated E-Verify for all ports of entry or;

    a National
digital ID card, for identity to stop illegal aliens from gaming the welfare
    system and bogus voting.

What we do need is a return to the quota system for immigrants.

What we do need is a point system for highly skilled new immigrants.

    We don’t
need is Sen. Harry Reid giving out fraudulent child tax credits ($4.B) to
    illegal aliens.

    What we do
need is more Moderate Conservative Candidates, The National Tea Party) who will
enforce the edicts of the Rule of Law and the U.S. Constitution.

    What must
be stopped is President Obama communicating to impoverished countries that if
you reach America, you will not be deported. In fact
we will even give public benefits.

Ah yes, the Great American Political Experiment. Another boondoggle effort by lazy politicians living high on the hog while stealing peoples pensions to pay for their failures, undeserved promotions & kickbacks.

See what happens when a two party system gets constipated! It gets bunged up on itself until the point it needs a little probing with an enima tube tip just before the big flush happens, releasing the pent up frustrations from the recent days gone by.

The American political system has been broken for decades. Rather then representing the common people, most politicians are influenced by their corporate & elite financial district friends who spend millions supporting their election. Instead of representing the common person, politicians serve the rich & greedy to become rich & greedy themselves. Only in America will the acting opposition to the sitting government risk the entire financial industry of the US & global financial market instability just so they don’t support a bill or law they don’t agree with. With the GOP infighting between Tea Party politicians & sane republicans & either party controlling only 1 house, American politics will remain constipated for years to come. One party needs to have control of both houses before things will either change in the American political system, or another civil war grips the country as the tea Party got it’s way & Palin is bunkered up & shooting at anything moving in her field of fire, around her home in Alaska.

Build a dual fence with guards stationed each mile. Once they hop the first fence they’re in our custody, all we need do is pick them up and place them on the other side of the border. Hire more ICE and Border Patrol, go to prisons, military, schools, work and homes and round up all the law breakers and send them packing. Let Mexico and Central America know they won’t get one more dime of foreign aid until they pay us back. NO AMNESTY for law breakers! By breaking the law they will not be welcome here in the future.

How about the same punitive tax for huge corporations like General Electric, Exon, Bank of America etc. Shouldn’t they be penalized for sending money overseas to avoid paying taxes? If we are going to penalize poor people helping poor people we should also penalize rich corporations helping themselves.

You are only trying to raise money, idiots who may believe you but shouldn’t, because we’ve seen you fold like cheap tents, and you really want to pass “illegals to legal” for your big business/small business and American Chamber of Commerce donors, all that cheap labor, caring nothing for our country…and I no longer buy American after all these 40 years…I will no longer shop in my neighborhood because they are stabbing my country in the back…..goodwill comes to those who are honest and hard working without subterfuge, which now leaves out fake Boehner, fake Congress and the fake “American” Chamber of Commerce and in it for yourself big/small business…we only have patriots now trying to save our country and it’s time we joined arm in arm across this great nation before that will be outlawed and regulated too.
