President Barack Obama isn’t buying the narrative that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s primary shellacking is a death knell for immigration, and plans to personally press Speaker John A. Boehner to act.

“Some of you saw that there was an interesting election yesterday,” he told donors at a fundraiser Wednesday evening. “And it’s interesting to listen to the pundits and the analysts, and some of the conventional wisdom talks about, ‘Oh, the politics of immigration reform seem impossible now.’ I fundamentally reject that. And I will tell the speaker of the House that he needs to reject that,” Obama said.

Obama cited kids he met at a school earlier Wednesday, many of whom he said are not here legally.

“If you met those kids today, you’d know that politics can’t play a part in it,” he said. “I mean, if you think that because of politics you want to maintain a status quo that’s broken; because of politics we’re going to forgo the economic growth and the deficit reduction, and the border security, and the fairness and the opportunity that immigration reform represents — you don’t belong in Washington.”

Obama then seemed to take Cantor to task for not being a stronger advocate an immigration overhaul. “My argument about yesterday’s election is not that there was too little politics, it’s that there was too little conviction about what’s right.”

Obama’s mention of a plan to talk to Boehner on immigration came after he has gone months without calling the speaker on an unemployment extension.

Other Obama aides have dinged Cantor for not being a strong advocate for an immigration bill.

Spokesman Josh Earnest, who Obama has tapped as his next press secretary, said he was “perplexed” by analysis suggesting that immigration was doomed.

“Majority Leader Cantor campaigned very aggressively against bipartisan, commonsense immigration reform. But yet, in the analysis, there are some who suggest that his election was the key to getting immigration reform done. So I’m not quite sure how people have reached that conclusion,” Earnest said.

Earnest and other White House aides pointed instead to Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s blowout victory in South Carolina.

“I’m no expert in Republican Party politics, but I’d be hard pressed to name a constituency more conservative than those who cast ballots in the South Carolina Republican primary,” he said. “Senator Graham didn’t just support comprehensive immigration reform in the Senate, he actually wrote the bill, or at least he helped write the bill. … And he made no apologies about that.”

Why would he talk about immigration with Boehner when EUC RENEWUI is the scandal of 2014?

Is it because Heller asked Obama to talk to Obama just this week, about EUC? (Joke.. Thanks Heller4support, I guess..)

Maybe, if we can get all the immigrants into the employment system the numbers will go up? Hmmm, we’re past that, aren’t we?

Obama, EUC is pleading with you, we are begging you to talk with Boehner about EUC. We are losing our homes, our dignity, our rights to free speech, our credit, our self worth, our families, our holidays. Buddy, give us a break and cut us some slack.

The biggest joke on us was at the WHCD when you told your crowd of high rollers the similarities between your own Congress and the Unemployed.

How dare the man that is single handedly responsible for children dying in the desert and being sold into human trafficking talk about “the children”
    The man has no shame.

  • Jazzy

Trade horses, spaghetti recipes, hamburgers, or whatever it is you two do and call business, so the people can have the EUC benefits they deserve. With Retro

RENEWUI -People, if this means you or someone you know, or just because you believe you could go like Cantor, stand up and say RENEWUI right now, say it soooo loud

    Eric Cantor
Loss Signals Huge Change Coming in November.

Washington: If you are frustrated of Obama running
the country on his own terms then do something about it. Unite with the
national Tea Party in your area—the one group of hardworking Americans who love
this nation and will do anything to save it. We have the ability to put intense
pressure on Congress and our politicians and turn their opinion… but only
with your help. Let’s flood them with letters, faxes, emails and phone calls
and protests. We can create a landslide of support with your help and
strategically by placing our people in Washington to fight for our cause: FREE AMERICA! GET RID OF
    OBAMA! Join the TEA PARTY

“LA PRENSA”, a South American newspaper is
printing propaganda and lies about the thousands of children pressed by their
parents to travel to the United States. The media south of the border is
broadcasting headlines that their children are being fed, schooled and given
financial assistance with other different programs to assimilate into the
stinking lie that our country is welcoming them. 60.000 women with babies,
infants and older children with expectations of 160.000 more on the way; a very
underhand dangerous way for the children whose parents hope they will be given
haven under Obamas Amnesty order. The parents to follow through the open-arms
of the Liberal open border zealots, to join their progeny in a Chain Migration.

watched you day in and day out fail the American people. You had opportunity
after opportunity to dismantle Obamacare, to prevent millions of illegal aliens
sucking the financial teat of state and federal treasuries and other Americans
who want to live of the rest of us. We must stop the incomprehensible spending
and even to stand up and defy the gun grab—tell the president NO! But you
didn’t so today I am sending you a warning: “WE THE PEOPLE ARE DONE WITH YOU
    to send your message!

    The question to ask
is why did Republican Eric Cantor GET HIS PINK SLIP? Try this theory? King
Obama knew that the people in the Cantor congressional district did not like Immigration
Reform or amnesty along with a Path to Citizenship. Any Foreigner will take that as a signal to
illegally relocate here, collect public benefits at the same time work under
the table. Steal our social security numbers and collect child tax
reimbursements fraudulently, in this country or another land. Lib-Democrats were
aware that Cantor was consulting with them to press amnesty on Congress and the
gullible people of the United States. Although he was working with the
other side, they really wanted to generate bedlam. So why not create a predicament
with illegal aliens just before the election? Use American taxpayers to reallocate
young illegal aliens around the country instead of deporting them—shouting out
to the world that Obama gave amnesty to 36,000 convicted illegal alien
criminals and children from the South of the crippled border. Then to Create a
humanitarian disaster and then on election morning get a Senate committee to
vote $1.9 billion to pay for the illegal aliens given amnesty by Obama. This
Administration is by far the worst in contemporary history for lying, betraying
and covering up those lies. This infuriates the voters, especially Cantors
Virginians where their retribution was to kick him out. Obama never
wanted reform—he wants power from votes given to him by citizens who want a
wealth of freebies, regular Democrats and illegal aliens. Remember “BLUE” state
require no identification to vote. “All those cohorts of immigration reform may
be in for a rude awakening. The recent invasion of unaccompanied minors
crossing the Mexican border into this country is creating major problems not
only for the Obama government but also for many of the relatives of these children
… and for the instigators of immigration reform and open borders.”

Impeach the President and any Member of Congress who works with him on Immigration.

  • Layla

Jazzy, do you know how far down on the totem pole this is? You’d be better off running for Congress yourself. The pay and benefits are excellent and the American people are looking for good candidates.

Honestly? Obama could care less about extending unemployment benefits to American families. I’m sorry, but that’s the truth. He is much more interested in his legacy with illegals.

You see, here is the problem: There is a bill which would offer “legalization”, not amnesty because that would rile Americans. Under legalization, these families would be required to pay taxes but could be hired at less than the minimum wage.

And here is the kicker: Companies would be exempt from having to pay for their healthcare as well for a number of years because of their special status. Why do you think the US Chamber is pushing this so hard…it means HUGE profits for business.

Whom do you think will get the jobs?

Yes, it’s much worse than you thought. Why do you think I am hitting the keys here?

  • Layla

Do you see anyone removing him? That’s why Congress have given us no choice but to remove them, both sides.

  • Layla

This isn’t solely Boehner’s fault. Blame both sides. Their interests are elsewhere. Have you see any bailouts for the American people? No. And you won’t.

  • JimiVestor

So, President Obama “plans to personally press Speaker John A. Boehner to act” on immigration, but has not yet spoken to Boehner about #RenewUi and it’s been more than 5 months since EUC expired in late December 2013. American families are struggling and losing homes and cars and everything they’ve worked for, and Obama is more concerned about helping illegal immigrants from Mexico?

Please sign the petition above to ask President Obama to:

Renew the federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program which expired December 28, 2013.

There are over 3.5 million long term unemployed Americans, including over 200,000 military veterans, who have lost EUC benefits since December 28th, 2013.

Please put politics aside and help these hard-working, responsible Americans make ends meet and support their families as they look for a job. For each week that Congress fails to act on this crucial issue, approximately 70,000 more long-term unemployed Americans lose their vital economic lifeline.

Please give John Boehner a call and ask him to allow the House of Representatives to vote on the bipartisan approved Senate bill to extend EUC benefits, which awaits a House vote. Also, please tell Congress to work harder for those who are struggling to get back into the workforce, because our nation’s future depends on it.

No Amnesty, enforce the law, mandatory e-verify, secure the borders, that’s what Americans want in immigration reform.

A default is only triggered if Hussein Obama’s regime chooses not to pay the interest payments due on the debt.

  • David

Maybe Obama can mention the EUC bill while on the phone with Boehner. The only real concern to Boehner right now is getting the Boehner/Koch Keystone XL Pipeline approved so he can line his pockets with dirty cash. Soon the brothers will look for a new more effective front man to do their dirty work.
